If I was working on a small project on my own I wouldnt, however for large films Ive worked on you get given alot of shots, so if you work as a lighting technical director it can take too much time and money to keep re-rendering all your shots (rendering costs the company alot, especially cloud rendering) so its best to do alterations like this in nuke, then re-submit your work to supervisors/ clients until a composite gets approved! Hope that clears things up : )

13:51 Why would you go back and re-render again if you can have the same result after the modification in Nuke?
