Wonderful that you found those coins. Been watching your channel for a while, but I’ve never looked at the really old videos. So tonight I decided I would. I’m glad I did
Your production quality and vocabulary restraint has come so far. I’d love to find a spill like that. I’ve watched your play list from top to bottom. Awesome job, Brad!
It just makes you wonder who, what, when and why those were dropped in that spot. You do an awsome job researching and putting your trips into context for us. Best channel on UA-cam
The condition of the 1877 dime is incredible! Great find! What I think is really fascinating is that the dime with the "cc" mint mark made it's way across the United States, from Nevada to Vermont. No small feat in that era! What a story that old dime could tell, if only it could speak to us ...
Brad's metal detecting videos are so much fun....I need to get a metal detector! Thanks for the awesome videos. You truly found some serious treasure! That was a lot of money to lose back in the olden days.
What a killer video man, AND A CC 😳....holy crap, that's gonna be one of those hunts that's hard to top...awesome video bud, but it won't let me give it a second thumbs up
Idk if you check your comments down here however i have been taking some jewelry classes and the way we remove oxidization from silver, copper, bronze, brass and pretty much non ferrous metals... you can use whats call a Jewelry pickle. It will clean all your silver right up. However you DO NOT use metal tongs or anything metal (ferrous, anything that contains iron essentially) in the pickle or else it will copper plate your non-ferrous (anything without iron) stuff and that is a pain in the ass. But usually you have a pickle for Silver, one for copper, and one for nickle.. Hope this helps when cleaning up your finds.
how could anyone give this great video a thumbs down??....just jelly jerks great hunt, going through all of your videos, finally skipped to the first one and gonna work my way back thanks for the great videos!!!!
King Klad you’re always gonna have your haters, you just have to ignore them and move on. If they comment again don’t respond because that’s what keeps them going. If you ignore them they will go away.
That was an awesome day!!............ well done Brad!!!!!! Might have to come to Vermont one day!...............👀😏😎👌👍👋✌️🇨🇦🌟 Happy Hunting& Great videos............
I just started watching your videos and I totally love them. Me and my grandson have just started our detection adventures and I have no idea where to look I'm trying to learn from your videos I live in TN surrounded by mountains what advise would you give me please.
Awesome finds ! Would happen to know what all was minted at Carson City ? I only knew of the Morgan Silver Dollars , until you found that Seated Liberty Dime ! Now I'm wondering just what all had been minted there ! Partly because no one had ever mentioned anything other than the Morgan Silver Dollars minted at Carson City ! Cool finds !
Fantastic finds and I am SOOOOOOO happy to see you carry a spray bottle of water with you! I can't tell you how many times I have cringed watching other diggers rubbing off a newly found coin with their sand and grit encrusted gloves and thinking, 'why don't you just take some sandpaper to it while you're at it!' I get that most coppers will have corroded badly, but those silvers can still have a Very Fine or Extra Fine grade to them, so why degrade them any further? I spent almost my entire childhood digging through the woods and abandoned colonial farmhouses in Pennsylvania, so I learned the hard way not to do things like that. You are the first I have seen that exercises some proper care. Kudos!
This coin spill I could imagine was part of someone monthly wage that they lost while traveling maybe the person passed away when his body was found the change was lost of of a pocket. To much just to be a random person carrying change.
Some body had a rather bad day, but 120+ years later it made a good day for you! Congratulations! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 A dollar in 1890 would equal around $25 in today’s money.
I love it when something magical happens. It offsets all those dud days when you hike six miles and only find garbage. Here is my theory: Somebody was indeed sitting on that rock, sometime around 1878 getting crazy drunk. He had a hole in his pocket so as he staggered around they fell out one-by-one in slightly different spots. When he awoke from his stupor he was unaware of his loss.
Very nice finds. Some say swinging from different angles will find you more. Do coins on edge, at the depth you were finding them, ring up well on the AT Pro? Wonder if there are any under the small tree, that got pushed down as it grew. I subscribed and liked both videos. Your language was not that bad, for how crazy exciting what you found was, it was understandable. I loved how you will go try to hunt in 20 or below temperatures, and snow, if ground not froze hard as a rock, I do the same! :) Looking forward to watching your other videos. GL&H continued H!
+Metro Pcw Thanks a lot for the sub and the kind words! I actually find the ATPro is hit or miss sometimes, occasionally after digging a nice target it will be completely invisible to the ATP only to be found with the pinpointer... haven't quite figured that one out yet! Thanks again for watching!
I had my largest coin spill of about a total of 37 coins about 2 years ago and I went back 2 more times and found more each extra time. They were mostly wheat pennies, about 5 or six non-wheat pennies, 1 foreign coin and one nickel, but no silver, but was still cool to keep finding them. Anyway, have you tried to search that area in pinpoint or all metal mode and with or near maximum sensitivity (I did with CTX). The losing the signal happens to me with different detectors and even the garrett pinpointer a few times. I just keep looking. I am not sure if I heard that detectors can sometimes ground balance a coin out, but I think all metal or pinpoint would find it, unless it fell in or out of the hole near iron. The pinpointer should be able to find it though as an alternative if you just keep searching.
+Metro Pcw Wow, 37 coins!! I always run the ATP all metal and one below max sensitivity, however when the dug target seemingly vanishes even the pinpoint function doesn't find it. Possible because it's on edge, I haven't quite figured why yet! The 0:55 mark of my video titled "Seven Colonial Coin In One Day" has a good example of this!
With the dates it might be possible that they would place the coins in a pouch of some kind that would rot away over the years. See it also maybe that they originally planned to return for the money and for some reason they could not make it back. If only the coin Could talk!
Thanks a lot! Untitled, I wrote it specifically for my videos! You can see me and my buddy performing it at the end of this video: ua-cam.com/video/Phr2tfbvQVA/v-deo.html
Looks like someone used the rock as a headrest and slept there. Looks about the correct distance from head to waist ratio...someone sleeping and rolling around losing things from their pocket. A night's camping/resting got rather expensive for someone.
Typically coin spills would come from someone lying down sleeping. You roll around during the night and of course, you don't notice the money gone till later and can't take the time to return if you could even find it. For the time frame, you are looking at more than a day's wages for many people.
Because I enjoy the history you find I decided to watch all your videos.
Wonderful that you found those coins. Been watching your channel for a while, but I’ve never looked at the really old videos. So tonight I decided I would. I’m glad I did

Kids burying pirate treasure then growing up. "Hey, do you remember when.....?"
I love it when things call to me. Making me go back again.
lol
That's awesome!! Makes me wonder if they weren't buried there in hopes to come back to it! Wow, what a cool find!!
Relly makes me wonder, I mean really, what did happen in that spot. One day or night something happened so many years ago. Awesome find Brad!
That was fun to watch, Thanks for sharing.

I completely agree, I find that water can make coppers worse, but silver always gets a spray! Thanks for watching!
I have found silver dimes in a park in Denver that still has mint luster on them.

oh my god, amazing, I had a five silver spill once, went back a week later and there was a sixth waiting for me, what a great feeling
A great feeling indeed! I have a knack for returning to old coinspills and finding more, I actually have one more video from this particular spill!
When you find a coin spill it's like christmas morning! Way to go Brad!
Heck yeah, thanks Jim!!
It is such a hoot to hear the horn cover up the "exclaimation" remark! Roflmbbo
Wow 57 cents in the 1870’s in one hole , someone had a very bad day losing that much money - guaranteed , nice video

Thanks Steve, it was a real heart racer!!
FABULOUS, Dahling❣️❣️❣️
That was a coin spill! Like they say always re-check your holes! Congrats!

WOW....... WOW...... WOW..... thanks for sharing. that was insane!!!!
+Dustin Danger Thanks for watching!
Do you display or store your coins a certain way? What about your other treasures? Loved your excitement in this video.
Hoards are normally a way of hiding your money, I bet things were a little tougher in those days. Nice finds.

Thanks for watching!
Very nice find, best of luck to you and happy hunting
Thanks a lot Gary!

That would make my day or a month, congrats!

Right on
You just don't run across old coin spills like that every day!
Definitely my biggest ever! Thanks for watching!
your welcome

Could talk!
No no. Did or could you move the rock to see if anything under it??
As I mentioned, there’s a link in the description to a second video where I do just that
good thing you are in the woods so you can used the leaves
Nice find! Music at the end? Name please.
Thanks a lot! Untitled, I wrote it specifically for my videos! You can see me and my buddy performing it at the end of this video: ua-cam.com/video/Phr2tfbvQVA/v-deo.html
Wonder how much money that equates too today, awesome hunting as always dude
Wow nice!!!!!!
RIGHT THE HELL ON!!!!!!!!
I would be moonwalking all way back to the car.
I need this hunt......................been a long while
Impressive!
Looks like someone used the rock as a headrest and slept there. Looks about the correct distance from head to waist ratio...someone sleeping and rolling around losing things from their pocket. A night's camping/resting got rather expensive for someone.
Nice!!!

Sweeeeeeet spill!
What do you mean when you say you "autographed" the coin.
Scratched with my shovel haha
He scratched it with the shovel while digging it up.
RICH‼️‼️‼️
Amazing
Go back in another 3 days???
Nice!!!! my best "spill" was 40 clad Quarters at a Forest Preserve.GL & HH! Subd you
I see the rock there. Is that a grave?
A lot of coins seem to be found at the base of a tree. Why?
There likely wasn't a tree there 120 years ago-at least not the one that's there now.
Shouldn't this video have more views?
Chris Stringer haha feel free to share it around!
It does now! Over 24,000 of them!!!
According to an inflation calculator app I have, that fifty-eight cents would be equivalent to $16.03 in 2022.
You can say "holy shit". We get it.
What's under the rock?
Check the link in the description!
WOW!
I'll settle for one sitting dime. But, heah, I've only been looking for 33 years...and counting.
👍

You know... isn't the dates being so far apart seem to tell you that maybe someone maybe hid this treasure?
Good question! If I were to bury treasure I would probably put them in something, but we may never know!
I think someone buried a little stash...
Holly crap 😄yeah
37 cents was like 10 dollars back then
