Removing Fireblight From Our Pear Trees (Part 3)

Just over two years ago, I did some massive pruning on this pear tree in order to remove all traces of fireblight and regrow the tree. Today I'm pulling out the pruners for the first time to find and cut out any new fireblight infection that I find. Fortunately, it seems any infection is only at the tips of branches, so there is still a lot of hope that I can keep this tree! Check it out!

Is this is second year after you cut and grafted?

I made my initial cuts in the spring 2021, and this update was filmed in the summer of 2023, so yes, a little over two years!

Hope you burned the fire blight to remove any contamination potential of other trees

I did! After pruning it all out, I remove all the limbs and then rake any leaves or twigs that may have been missed.
