When jimmy goes off on a solo he bypasses your ears and talks directly with your soul! VERY few players can make a guitar cry and sing, jimmy is 1 of those few
While Jimmy is talking to the souls of the listeners, Robert is bypassing these talking directly to their crotches. ;-)
I would love to hear a call and response dynamic between Jimmy Page and David Gilmour, two players with their own guitar language

Well, the Playboy Magazine decade of the 70’s poll placed Keith Emerson #1 keyboardist, Carl Palmer #1 drummer, Greg Lake #2 bass guitarist only below Paul McCartney.
That’s for the 70’s! That’s not bad in many people’s opinions. Don’t get me wrong I love Led Zeppelin, and saw them absolutely on their game in St.Louis and Chicago. Both concerts were great.

I may be old (72) but I saw Led Zeppelin do this live in concert in 1970. That was 3 years before this show. They are electrifying in person! :-)

Lucky bastard. I was born in 71. By the time I was 8 years old I was listening to them thanks to my older cousin.
@@TheRscorp I got to see a lot of great bands in the 70s and early 80s and I didn't know how lucky I was at the time. Plus, tickets were often less than $10.

One of the best voices in rock. But look at him! Standing up close to the stage looking up at him. Singing his little heart out. I would not trade one moment of my youth for anything. I think I was 19. California raised. I was at the epicenter of the birth of a counter-culture. And this awesomeness was what came with it.

A tremendous monster of a blues/rock song as you'll ever hear. Studio version with head phones is flawless.

@@HBC423 lol OK 🙄 well to each their own. His recorded solo is considered one of the best solos of all time, the phrasing, the pacing, the note placement...this one isn't even close. Guitar player and musician of 20 years here. Robert's high notes, the emotion he puts into the recording is unparalleled. He hits notes that are unbelievable...he doesn't even come close to that here. This isn't bad at all, it's just impossible to beat perfect. I love this version too but it's in no way better. Its not even close

I've been to a couple of their 70s live performance but much prefer the studio version of their music. They were all over the place when I saw them in LA. Maybe some good performances and some not. There was one positive, my girlfriend was extremely 'frisky " when we got back to my house....😁

It is not even in original live double LP...it was in VHS, and I loved this, as one of the best thing ever
Glad you gave them a deeper dive. The more you listen to them the more you can appreciate their amazing musical diversity. Whisper to the thunder, light and shade, whatever you call it, Zeppelin’s got it made.

They are so unique...nobody can touch them!
As great as Zep is and they sit at the top of the mountain with the other greats, let's not get carried away with diversity in their music. They recorded 86 songs in a 11 year recording career; approximately 10% which belonged to other artists. They did Hard Sexy Bluesy Rock, their hybrid of folk/rock is epic, magic/mythical infused music is insane and straight up ballads which are standards. But that is pretty much it. When using the term diverse, that leads us more to bands like The Beatles, The Who and Queen.
@@juliemanarin4127 We can thank the Jeff Beck group for that. Page took so many ideas of what he wanted based on the Jeff Beck group. Page originally wanted his new band to include Beck, Moon, Entwistle and a number of possible singers. It is when Moon/Entwistle first blurted out what would become the name of the band. I am pretty sure it was Moon.
A great Zeppelin song is like a roller coaster ride. Just when you think you're at the smooth stretch, that big drop then back up to the top. Robert Plants voice brings a lot of soul to every song.

Great reaction! Zeppelin rules forever. I was 14 when they did this concert so I couldn’t go. I saw pictures and posters and knew right away that gods did walk upon this earth. I’m 65 now with Stage IV cancer. We all grow old and fade away…but when I see young people like you enjoy my favorite music from the 60’s and 70’s, it makes me happy. Thank you.

Saw the boys in January 1973 at Southampton University, just 600 of us crammed into the Old Refrectory - this gig was professionally recorded as the Lost Soundboard Tapes (Any Port in a Storm) - I've got the bootleg - the good old days.

One of my all time Zeppelin faves. I absolutely LOVE your eyes and how you speak with them, and your facial expressions in general, as you totally remind me of my former wife from the Russian Federation. My wife would speak to me with her azure blue eyes, and her lovely facial expressions, as I slowly learned her native Russian language. Keep up the good work with your videos, and thank you for reminding me of my former lovely wife, as I still miss her to this day. Not a tragedy of a break up, just how life unfolds, but I will never forget our time together.

Led Zeppelin was awesome! I've been fortunate enough to see about 5 songs off every Zeppelin album live in concert. They created a diversity of music, that was all great. If you look from the beginning albums, to Physical Graffiti, to Presence, to In through the Out Door. Very different, yet very Led Zeppelin.
