- Today, I complete the floor installation. Thanks to all of you that responded to my video format question - for more in-depth parts of the conversion I'll dedicate at least one full episode to it, rather than having two themes to the episode (for this reason, there will be no bed until it's complete, sorry!). I'm Matt and this is my channel - The Atypical Workshop. I was diagnosed with Autism in early 2020 and after initially struggling to come to terms with my #neurodiversity, I've since learned to embrace it. My alternative brain wiring allows me to see things from completely different perspectives, and to think of unique solutions that others would likely miss. The name 'Atypical Workshop' came about through the fusion of two very different themes:
During lockdown, while teaching myself carpentry, I also began watching Atypical (Netflix). The show both helped me to understand what I was going through, and reminded me of how capable I am. On 'The Atypical Workshop' I aim to use my unique skill set to both overcome the challenges I face and provide entertaining and informative content.

I like the short videos. Just started watching. Going through the videos. I was wondering why you didn’t use a template of the floor pieces you took out?
The curvature of the van wall means that when I raised the floor level (by 25mm for insulation), the old floor no longer matched the new profile. I figured it would be much easier to shape cardboard with a Stanley knife and scissors than to shape the old ply floor with a jigsaw!
what is the point of bolting the battens down when you just go and glue them down anyway, how strange
I used the bolts to keep the battens in place initially when I was working everything out. Once the glue had cured, I took them out 🔩
