    I just pruned my magnolia tree, being upset that it didn't produce enough flowers... I never knew that it was medicinal!🤯 Thank God, the branches are still by the tree, I am going to collect a ton of bark tomorrow!😂

    I am loving your knowledge! I found a sassafras tree on my property based on your education. I knew I had seen them but I always chalked them up to a young oak. But when you explained the smell of the leaf and the bark I found one within 15 minutes of hunting. We live on old school land that grows what it grows based on the sun with the woods. You explaining the leaves and the smell led me there quickly ❤ Thank you.

    It's amazing that I've never heard of this before. I've researched herbs for a long time and magnolia was never mentioned once. I knew I had a very large 30+ foot fraser magnolia or the cucumber tree on my property. I've also been able to identify the sweetbay and collected the flower buds. Now is the perfect time to find this video. I've had a tone of joint pain neck and back for years and felt it is digestive related. Thanks for your work to bring this information back to light. Much appreciated.

      @@LegacyWildernessAcademy I'll update with the progress while taking the herb. Only been a few days but I've seen some pretty interesting results. Having dealt with this for a long time, you get to sense the inner workings of the body in a way most probably don't. Or hopefully never will. I can tell it a powerful herb. Thanks again!

    • @LegacyWildernessAcademy
      @LegacyWildernessAcademy  Місяць тому +3

      @@paulofthewoods0787 I should mention that if you feel it's digestive related you should also look into yucca root and greenbriar/smilax root. Both are used for joint pain, but they work differently than magnolia. They have saponins that bind to toxins in the gut and prevent them from being absorbed, reducing the toxin load on the body and helping with inflammation. Make a combo tincture with all 3 and I bet it would work wonders.

      Hi Bonnie, I have this short guide you can download, but other than that I don't have a full length reference. Thank you!

    Squirt the tincture into a shot glass of boiling hot water. It does something to the alcohol to make it less problematic. After a minute or two toss it into your glass of water to drink

    I live in North Georgia and we have the ones with the best smelling flower I think of any other tree flower. After it blooms it has a cone with the red seeds in it. Is it okay to use to. Thanks great video.

    I'm happy to find your channel, especially since you're covering plants in the southeast! I have a question.. when you're making the strips, do you try to focus on the green cambium layer or does it not really matter? TY

      In this case the outer bark is so thin that it doesn't really matter, but on plants with thicker bark i'd scrape it off first.

    Could you put the bark in a hermetically sealed jar with olive oil to make an oil based tincture instead? Let it sit maybe four to six weeks in a dark spot and place drops under the tongue then swallow after 30 seconds to a minute? Would the dose and frequency be the same? Thank you.

      If you don't like alcohol for a tincture, try using glycerite for a tincture. Alcohol makes the best shelf stable and does the best extraction. Glycerite probably is a near second and oils probably the poorest and least shelf stable.
      Or steep it in water and make a tea.

    Do you combine you flower and bark tinctures? And do they both serve our body in the same manner?

      The flower buds are specifically indicated for allergies and asthma in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but the bark/flowers/green seed cones probably have all of the same uses. The main thing I use is the bark and seed cones mixed together.

    I live in zone 9-9B and we panted 2 magnolia trees in our front yard so how can we tell if it is sweet bay magnolia? Where you live an hour north of the Gulf of Mexico so it’s more like 9B I believe..
