  • In this video, I walk through removal and installation of my RSX Fuel Pump.
    I'm removing an aftermarket 02-04 fuel pump which has caused some issues with incorrect readings, specific to the fuel sending unit, and I'm replacing it with an 05-06 RSX type S fuel pump. I'll show a comparison of the two pumps and walkthrough unboxing as well.

    Would the 06 pump work on the 05 RSX?

    • @revcircle
      @revcircle  26 днів тому

      Yes, the 05 and 06 RSX should be the same OEM part number which is the safer swap. I believe as long as you are matching the model, so Type S only works for Type S, and base mode only for base mode. They seem to still be selling this as the dealer and parts website, but discontinued it for 02-04. Otherwise I would have bought that.

    Do you have the part number by any chance?
    My 06 type s has been smelling like fuel after pumping gas for a while mileage has been pretty bad , hoping this solves the issue

      The part # of the 05-06 Type S is 17045-S6M-A30. Since you're adding it to an 06, it'll be a perfect fit. I see they still have these new pumps in stock at AcuraPartsWarehouse for around $380.
      Might want to pop open the fuel door under the rear seat to see if it's leaking. Maybe the plastic housing cracked, but you'll know for sure when you take a look at it.

    How did you get the ring cover to go back on? I’m in the process of doing mine rn and the ring that holds the fuel pump down will not screw back on

    • @revcircle
      @revcircle  4 місяці тому

      the black plastic ring? If so, you can use the one you took off the old one, but make sure you use the rubber piece of the new one as thats the gasket that insulates from the pump to the tank.

      @@revcircleI just ordered a 05-06 unit for my 2003. It's a Delphi unit, which should be better than some generic brand.
