Just subscribed current rsx owner myself love the build bro. I love awd setups on these. I will be converting mine someday but I want to relocate the motor to sit below the hatch glass like the Ferrari's so you can see every detail.
I'm at 5 and having fuel starvation problems. I ran a return line through the old out line and even hooked it up to the boot as was recommended. I know it's nothing else as it pulls great until just under half a tank. You start thinking of all the options, and come back to "well if it works fine to 1/2 a tank, then it isn't the pump, injectors, regulator etc."
I've never had fuel starvation run the setup like in this video. I think some of the pumps. I usually drill two, two inch holes with a hole saw on the bottom of the fuel pump housing to help get fuel into the cage.
So I disconnected the hoes and put the screw in it with a clamp just like you. Other than that the regulator is untouched. Should I unplug the wires running to it? What do I do with wires, will it cause a short?
You should watch my video. You don't want metal washers, you want plastic PTFE washers for fuel that are made by Earl's Performance. You also need the fuel return jet, unless you want to run out of gas at 1/4 tank. Without the return jet, it also affects fuel pressure. You also need to modify the return jet for the bigger fuel pump. You are going to have several problems. I can run my RSX gas tank extremely low wth my modded return just like oem factory. I also did not have to cut into the fuel bowl at all, it is all oem stock and I'm using a 2011 Nissan GTR fuel pump.
Is the fuel pressure regulator for a 2009 k20 the same? Is the 2009 k20 fpr mechanical or electrical and can i just plug it the same way without tripping the fuel pressure sensor.
I'm trying to do the fuel system setup for my 2004 acura tsx. Would I run it the same way like a tsx? And install the fuel pressure regulator on the return side?
@@itsjustabasersx I have 365whp (rsx type s ) I got it tuned everything went smoothly driving it back home and all but the very next day when I tried to get into boost it would cut out right before it hits. My tuner said I need a fuel return and a fpr. It doesn’t make sense bc it was fine on the dyno and actually made 377whp just got it turned down to 365. I’ve been asking around and everyone says 400 whp is about the limit. Lmk what you think I appreciate the help.
@@Blued3mon772 its possible the pump is starting to give out so your not getting enough pressure. But if it did fine on the dyno then it shouldn't be hitting fuel cut how randomly. Something is definitely off tune wise or something is failing fuel related. But yes you dont need a return till around 400hp or 16lbs+ of boost
theres different size efi fitting an part is what youre running but the efi quick connect size could be 1/4 or 3/8 im trying to figure out same thing....
Good stuff. Hey brother I think I'm having that fuel starvation issue. I'm running a deatschwerks 65c fuel pump with a aeromotive regulator. I have my return coming from the bottom of the regulator 6an return line. Its similar to ur setup when you were boosted. At a little less than a quarter of a tank the car hesitates really bad and spits , no power. When I filler up it's back to running perfect. I am now boosted 400hp. I did everything for the fuel pump like u said. What may be causing this please help
Thanms bro, ok Try drilling some holes on the bottom of the fuel pump housing that way the the fuel fills up the housing. This is a known issue with rsx. I should of actually mentioned that in the video. Lmk if it works out for you brother. Good luck!
I forgot to mention my fuel pressure regulator is before the fuel rail. Running a very similar set up that you used to have, utilizing the stock fuel rail. Should I run my fuel regulator on the return side with an aftermarket fuel rail? Will it then stop the fuel starvation? I'm also on e85.
@@camlobesvtec oh if your running a no nonsense setup with stock rail, then you have it correctly. Make sure you have a few holes drilled at the bottom of the fuel pump housing. Also some pumps in general have fuel starvation issues at a 1/4 tank.
Did you drill holes in your housing too? Did it solve your fuel starvation issue? In my opinion I think the fuel starvation issue happens because the performance pump is pumping allot of fuel and it's not returning fast enough causing the issue. I think the ecu goes into limp mode when that happens with a low tank. Your awesome brother thanks again God bless.
@@camlobesvtec I never had starvation issues, but I had holes drilled on the bottom and side of the housing.💪🏼💪🏼 I hope this helps you out. I was at 500hp at 18.5lbs of boost never had fuel issues. Also did u block the stock FPR?
Thank you for this knowledge I set this up on mines
PS. Best explained vid. All others dont cover this topic/section in detail well enough

@@itsjustabasersx kinda curious why you need to block off the return line, where will the fuel route through the hanger, apologies man
@@alitoroganan2442 you need to block/ disable the stock fuel pressure regulator. Theres are few ways too do that.

What point of return system? Just keep gas free flowing and cool?
what would you do if youre wanting 300-400 max? do you even need a return system. thanks brotha.
Woohoo! New content!

On a fuel system set up is the fuel pressure regulator installed before the fuel rail on the feed side or after the fuel rail on the return side?
