Thanks for the shoutout man!!👊 I truly appreciate that and I had a great time for sure!! I found a few more areas I've been exploring that I'll have to show you if you come back through sometime. Ride safe Tim!
It is absoltely amazing that you feel so comfortable outdoors by yourself. That's probably my only fear :( I have watched your video and it helped a little.
Great vid, fun to watch. A camp ground for motorcycles, friggin great idea. Very good music, thanx Tim. Btw Tim, I think your vids are more fun to watch when your solo, thanx again.
Mountainview huh. I'll have to look them up. I thought I had a good listing of all motorcycle only places in my home state. You helped me out with that one. Thank you.
Epic footage Tim, little bummed I missed that one some old school bikes, wildlife, waterfalls sounds like a party to me. It reminded me when I was like 10 my grandpa took me on a canoeing trip on the Shenandoah River and he brought all the junk food he could fit in the pack lol. I just want to say what an awesome job you have done making it to all the parka and documenting as well as sharing the experience with so many people! Hi CJ I was wondering when you met up now o know lol. Keep up the awesome and inspiring vlogs and I am looking forward to the next adventure hopefully sooner than later!
Great Video! I don't blame you bypassing the dragon, no big deal! However, the Cherohala Skyway (including the gravel roads that run next to it), Nantahala National Forest, and Tellico Plains is a must see for adventurers!
As close as one can come to some post covid isolation, warm weather days and pleasant riding. THanks Tim, definitely brightened my spirits and have added MABDR to my bucket list... soon!!
Hey you picked a doozy! Great roads and beautiful scenery. I did a solo kinda find my feet after my divorce in 2010. Lost track of time and no cell service just what I needed at that time. Didn't want it to be over. It was close for me as I lived in KY. I miss it with my new home in AZ
Love getting caught up on your travels! How wonderful that you saw an ELK!!! Great episode looking forward to next week. Very pretty in a much different way than the parks in the west. Peace
Home. Sure hope I'm well enough to ride with you when you come back through. We need to get you to Cashiers, DuPont State Park and Mt Mitchell. Be safe my friend.
@@FTAAdventures Can't wait to have you back, Brother. When you were here, you looked like you needed a break from work. Everyone needs that once in a while, even those with dream jobs. Zero expectations, and we're happy to provide the opportunity to catch your breath. All well here thus far, hope the same for you, and your extended family.
You seem to encounter a large amount of Triumph Tiger riders!! I too am a Tiger rider!! Love yer videos!! It’s seems we are very very similar in a lot of ways in regards to (solo) motorbike travel!! I’m from Tempe AZ but reside in Portland Oregon. Hope to cross paths one day. 🐅🤙
Man I been waiting too long to get out motorcycle camping again! Great video Tim looks like beautiful country there, I will definitely go to those parks someday!
Hey Tim, I love your channel. One question for you. I have noticed that you have been running different windshields on your bike. In this video you have the Puig touring windshield. I just bought one for a 3,000 mile trip I'm planning, but I'm having a tough time getting it dialled in. I'm experiencing head buffeting, or else i have to have windshield so high that I'm looking through it and find it distracting. Would love to know your thoughts on this windshield and different sized windshields in general. I also ride a GS.
I've ridden some of those areas myself (have definitely been on that portion of the MABDR, hoping to ride it all if this World Fall ever opens back up, LOL), and Gatlinberg is only a 1 1/2 hour ride from home (and I make the ride a every so often to visit SMKW, the "World's largest knife store, LOL). Great video brother, beautiful scenery! 😊✌
motorcycle + sunset + tent men!.. that's awesome.. i Hope i could experience that hahaha.. i have a bike + tent but can't find a place like that here in philippines haha.. too bad..
These are some of our favorite areas to ride. We have been here a few times already and are always looking to come back. I did a whole series on it called "twists of the mountains" ua-cam.com/play/PLC7eULbu9q1H0pu0RvxkxMOFMStV71z9X.html I will have to check out that campground. I have heard about it a few times, but never actually stayed there. Thanks for the entertainment Tim. Stay safe & healthy buddy. P.S. Nina & the kids say hi!
Thank for sharing, and info on the campground, I will go this summer, this whole video is in my yard ...well kinda lol. Hope you got meet Dale at wheels through time? He is an Awesome guy. Thanks again.
Thanks for another great video. I live close to the MABDR and am thinking of trying an easy section as my re-intro into off-pavement riding. Do you think I could do it with 90/10 or 80/20 tires? Thanks again.
As soon as your video opened I thought that looks like Skyline Drive. Then you said it lol. Lucky you seeing that Elk! I have spent a stupid amount of time riding the Appalachians and have yet to see one or a bear.
I just made this run, well down the blue ridge parkway to Cherokee NC. and the back to Oh. Wow we were paralleling eachother almost at the same time. So about 38° in the morning. 50ish day time? So many people in Nc. I'm old. Did you stop at thunder ridge in Maggie tally? It's a trip. I watch people line dance to George and the Delaware destroyers fucking great.
Dual Sport Wv my wife and I love riding our multistrada in WV !!! GREAT ROADS , nice folks , don't mind spending $ there 😎 as soon as the country comes back to life we will head there from Pennsylvania! !!😄😄😄😄
Since we all seem to have a bit more time these days 😎😎😎😎😎 here is a video i shot of my "new"???? Bike !! Enjoy 😄😄😄😄 ua-cam.com/video/r2p9mr19-QQ/v-deo.html
We did Skyline drive southbound in June 2018. Traffic was light and lower than I normally experience on the Blue Ridge Parkway (probably because you have to pay to drive it). We also saw a lot of deer. When you got to the Smokies (It's Smoky, not Smokey BTW...local pet peeve), you were in my neck of the woods. I live just a few miles from the Greenbrier entrance to the park. 441 across the Smokies is always busy, we only go that way to get to or come back from the riding in western NC. Not far from Cataract Falls, not far up the Cove Mountain trail you can still see the devastation from the wildfires from 2016 that ravaged the area and so greatly impacted Gatlinburg, which still has structures being rebuilt on the surrounding hills today. The Smokies are still the most visited National Park in the US. My Grandmother Ogle (referred to as the Queen of the Smokies when she passed in 2003) is still on the park film (I think). My roots are pretty deep here :-) Hope you enjoyed your short trip through. Great roads for motorcycles all over this area. That closing pic of you buy the lake is a keeper!
You should clean your windshield before doing video Tim. :-) BTW, is there really any benefit to having a smoke windscreen? I always enjoy your videos!
You didn't miss much skipping Tail of the Dragon's. Over-rated and pretty silly. The roads around there leading to it (28, the rest of 129 and Foothills Parkway) are much better riding roads..
Couldn't agree with you more. The dragon is a quick, short thrill, but roads like the Cherohala and Blue ridge parkway, and surrounding roads offer much better riding.
Thanks for the shoutout man!!👊 I truly appreciate that and I had a great time for sure!! I found a few more areas I've been exploring that I'll have to show you if you come back through sometime. Ride safe Tim!
Thanks man! Love the photos. Looking forward to visiting again!
Taking 441 and the Blue Ridge Parkway from Gatlinburg to Maggie Valley always puts me in my happy place. Thanks fro doing this.
Awesome video! I love motorcycle camping up and down the BRP when the weather is with you. Lol. Ride on and ride safe everyone!
What a wonderful life you are living....

I was on Skyline Drive in Octobrrrr of 2018. Great to see it again.
Tim - One of my favorite episodes yet. Nice work!
I’ve been waiting for the recap of your trip through the Smokies. Proud to have those mountains in my backyard. Hope you enjoyed your ride through.
Awesome scenery and great you caught up with so many people. Camping there looks great. Thanks Tim.

Agree on the Dragon 💯%
Rode up to the Dragon but decided it was gonna be a bit beyond my skills esp so many rider, drivers... never regret staying within my ride

Been there. Done that. Wooohooo!
Tim, Love the off grid/dirt road camping, your killing me man!!! LOL
Lots of good riding around the Mountainveiw campground on roads that don't have reptile names, etc.
Awesome, super nice video.
Good choice of music... little more “Appalachian” wit’ the banjo 🪕!
Skyline Drive is an awesome drive. Great vid as always.
This is a fun, easy, beautiful ride. $25, I think, for motorcycles. Road was much better maintained than Blue Ridge Parkway
Tim, I was surprised you never went to Cades Cove. Thanks for the videos.
Great music, need that ! And great video.

Sitting in CO waiting for 8” of snow to melt. This makes it seem longer. Thanks for posting, I needed some cycle porn.
Precioso vídeo.
Gonna have to check out that motorcycle campground, sounds like a great spot.
The Appalacians' are beautiful, camped many times in them. Thanks for the memories, Tim 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Bought a Surviveware FAK had room for a combat gauze inside and attached combat tourniquet. Nice unit!!!
Awesome ride keep up the good work
Looks like you just missed WV. To bad we dont have a National park!

Where does the motorcycle paths start by any chance?
Hi Tim, what kind of tent do you use?

Jeffery Noland it’s actually Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Sorry Pet peeve. Don’t be a no-it-all Jeff.
@@strongjb I was just trying to be helpful to someone not from the area. Most folks just refer to them as the Smokies. And, it's know-it-all (lol)
Excellent!
Great video. What is the name of the band?
I'm supposed to be in that area right now for vacation. Not I'm sad. But hay! It will still be there for next time.
Absolutely stunning at 14:40!
I have not done that trip on the Motorcycle yet. many times in the car.
Have you had the chance to ride any part of the Smoky Mtn. 500 loop? It's similar to a BDR and I think you would enjoy it.
Not yet but I'll check that out next time. Thanks!
Definitely should of went to tail of the dragon my friend.
Damn Tim! Missed you by 2 months....
You need to do a "bloopers" video :)
Sitting in Iraq wishing I was home. Can't wait to get on the bike.
Asheville is home.
How would you deal with a bear encounter, I’d love to go camping but I’m scared of dangerous wildlife
Bear repellant.
Bear spray if necessary. Black bears can usually be scared off, grizzlies might be a bigger problem.

What is the BDR trail ?

What’s a BDR?

Ha... I was wondering the same thing so I went to google. ( Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route )
Charles Richardson I googled it and found a million things I knew it wasn’t...🤣
Snubs "Tail of the Dragon" for a S.C. swamp? #wtf...??? Creds in question...
I've done TOD too many times, he road is fun but the crowds aren't always worth it. If I had never I woudn't have missed it
As much as you have traveled on a bike, its a wonder if you can feel your butt anymore .

No I don't. There's a lot of Collins though.
