- Trying to get a few parts for my, VVTi 2UZ-FE Toyota V8 1974 RA21 Toyota Celica project when I came across some RARE vehicles that honestly should not be in a scrap yard.

Because you always seem concerned about showing work that other UA-cam channels wouldn't, you should know that's what some of us appreciate about your channel. You show the real (and often tedious) work that goes into a project. Hope you never change that about your videos!
Plus she’s a cutie 😉
Agreed! Don't ever change your quirkiness! You are an original.
Sarah is a detail kinda gal.
This is definitely why I watch her videos. I learn quite a bit from her showing the process. Its great.
Absolutely!
Thanks for not glossing over the little things. So many restoration channels just show the money shots, and not all the grunts, the sweating, and the cursing that is required to get to completion. It’s not pretty or sexy but you still show it and make it look good. Keep it up and get those 600k subscribers.
I never thought about this.
This is one of the reasons we love Sarah's channel.
The occasional "all over the place" videos are part of what makes your channel fun
The sheer joy on Sarah's face showing us the re-chromed bumpers...😁
Yes it's like putting on new jewellery. The bling factor. I did that with my Holden FX sedan. Looked mint.
Please don't change your style of how you present your work, it's who you are and why I love these videos.
@davidsimmions6197
I think it is why we all love ❤️ Sarah’s videos😍.
Really like the day-in-the-life of a restoration video's, great reminder of the incredible detail that goes into a quality restoration.
Drunk person in a shed? That's awesome! Sarah you are an old soul. I love how you have compassion for the old cars, I feel the same and I'm sure others do as well.
Yep love that comment “built by a drunk person in a shed” lol
WOW, *bonus points* for the mournful, whistled rendition of the Jurassic Park theme at the Explorer - yup, saw whatcha did there. 🙂 I'd say, don' worry a-tall if it jumps around a little - I mean, that aluminum divider you fabbed is BRILLIANT.
I'm consistently amazed at how multi-skilled you are. Most restoration channels have a few things they can do, usually getting the mechanicals working. "Look!" they say, "It's completely fixed now!" and then they drive away in something that still looks like a complete crapwagon. You can do it all and, yes, please continue showing yourself doing all the things. That's what I'm here for.
@newcarpathia9422
That’s what we are all here for. Sarah and her multitalented self. With cameo appearances by Angelfoodcake, Charliethefabricobblerextraorrdinaire, Fredwhoteachethpaint and Theguywiththeplasmacutteracrosstheparkinlot.
Congrats on 599k (600 thousand) and all the great videos! I thoroughly enjoy what you do.
F-22 flyover is required when two Teeter-Tots are discovered in one yard at the same time. I don't make the rules.
I'm relieved to know that A - I'm not the only one who loves to go to the junkyard... B - I'm not the only one who loves to go car sight seeing! 👍👍👍
You should consider getting a set of gasket punches so you don't need to use sockets to punch holes in stuff.
The Kaiser is a ‘49 Traveler, and is one of the first hatchbacks. The engine is a Continental six.
When you are an essentially a one person band, things don’t go like finger snaps. They didn’t in the early days of the garage. At this stage, it is just tedious things that slow you down. The long timers know this and we aren’t bugging over it. We know how meticulous you are and that’s just part of why you have the viewership you have. Press on Sarah! Yeah Buddy!❤👍🏻🛠
Love field trips to the salvage yard. One of my all time favorite things. Back East in Pennsylvania spotting old cars at a scrap yard was an all day Saturday event.
You should do monthly junk yard videos...I like those ❤
I like your eclectic videos. It catches a lot of detail that gets missed in the usual UA-cam videos. The junk yard diversions are cool too. You find interesting stuff, and seem to have a blast doing it. 👍
ALL your videos are gold so quit making excuses where none are required Sarah as real fans know how difficult these builds are but also how perfection is achieved
Hard work and perseverance 😎🏴🇺🇸
Wow, those re-chromed. bumpers are fabulous. Whatever shop did that is first rate! Please do not apologize for showing the myriad of small jobs that go into building cars. That is one of the main charms of your video.
Gotta love that TLC Sarah puts into her work.
I actually like the blocks on bumper. Period correct. Sarah restores like it is for a museum. Every little details.
I've been going to salvage yards for three decades. Damn, you made it entertaining.
"Junk yard time with Sarah" is always awesome! Being a local, I'd love to go junk yard hopping!
Sarah, consider a hollow hole punch set, a must have in the garage! Thanks!
$9.99 USD well spent at harbor freight. 12:46 while you're 'there' a 28 piece transfer punch set is only $11.99 USD
I enjoy that you show all the tedious work that goes into a project. It’s fun watching all the work, parts searching and researching.
Probably the only channel I don’t hate sponsors ads. Even they’re done well. Thanks guys 👍
I don't have any sponsor ads.. I'd have a shop of my own if I did! lol
Thanks!
Loving these weekend morning videos. I briefly drove the 2.25L supercharged Millenia that I borrowed from a relative. 210 hp in a 3,400 lb car. No speed demon but not slow either. The Millenia was Mazda’s luxury car at the time and had a very “European” flavor to it. As always, thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
I actually enjoy a lot these type of videos … there is a pleasure in looking at someone being so meticulously engaged with doing things right. Keep it up Sarah
The build doesn't look like it's going fast but there is a lot going on for sure, and I appreciate seeing you clean up the places no one will see. I think it gives the car a new car smell, new car feel.
Love the trips to the junk yard. Thank you for filming it!
Out of curiosity, have you ever thought of making a video series where you "rescue" a car from the junkyard?
Actually, her Audi TT Quattro (Teeter Tot) was essentially a rescue car. Check out "We Flew 700 Miles to Buy THIS?" dated May 29, 2018 if you haven't seen this absolutely hilarious video.
My MR2 was literally a pile of parts in some guys back yard when I bought it.
@@tomheringer2047 I agree, that video is hilarious, I'm coming from going to the u pull intending to buy a car from the yard.
@@SarahnTuned What I'm suggesting is more going to the U pull, intending to buy a car from the yard. Provided you're state allows that.
"Drunk person in a shed"...LOL! That Kaiser needs you...
Love the yard trip in this. I enjoy those and it feels like it's been a long while since ya went to the yard.
Hi Sarah; That 2.3 supercharged Millenia you stumbled upon was a Milenia ‘S’. Supercharged because it was a Miller Cycle engine, some craziness that altered valve timing to use the positive manifold pressure to fill the cylinder faster. The regular Millenia was a 2.5 which was already complicated enough. The fact that the ‘upgrade’ model had a smaller displacement engine was a sure sign that bad judgment had been employed. We did valve covers on an ‘S’ and the tech scrambled a few of the myriad of vacuum lines. Took four or five returns to get the ‘check engine’ light out meanwhile the dealership wouldn’t even touch it. The cars developed such a reputation for irrepairibility that no Mazda specialty shop from Sacramento to Fresno would do more than an oil change. Wash your hands after touching the VIN plate on that malevolent serpent. BTW you look better and sexier in sneakers and blown out jeans in a Pick N Pull than all the Swifties in the Mall. Just sayin’
In some parts of the world the Mazda Millenia was called the Mazda Xedos 9. We had the most futuristic sounding names in the 90's !
This was a perfect balance between a vlog format and a more curated edit. And I’m still impressed by how well you explain everything: the techniques, the process and the reasons why you do what you do. If I was a millionaire, I’d buy this car for what it’s worth, counting all the woman-hours spent on it. Keep it up, you’re truly one of a kind.
Cannot wait to see the finished product on this build. Love to see you're documenting every little detail if the work going into it.
Sarah a suggestion, when and if you get or find your angle grinder wrench just use and cable tie to attach it to the cord near the plug. This is so you can't lose it anymore and it will remind you to unplug it while changing disks so you don't accidentally get hurt. Great content
Or just unskrew it using the disk itself
Dear Sarah.
👍👌👏 Yeah, you are absolutely right. The smiling bumpers look sooo much better. 2) Especially because the Kaiser is fairly complete, it should definitely be saved. 3) The Mercedes with the removable hardtop is even a cabriolet! Such a W 107 R is worth a small fortune in Germany and would never ever be scrapped. Such a car would be the perfect summer vehicle for you, Sarah. 4) I like this video a lot. Especially because it is varied. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Great work Sarah! Do what you enjoy while you are young and fit enuff to do it.
The time will come when your projects will become very treasured and sought after collector items.
Sarah, when your shop is cramped with stuff, it's never in my way. You know where everything is and that's Awesome ! Labels....
All over the or focused it shows the A to z the work that goes into a restoration project.
Okay Sara, I have to tell you that you can remove those discs by hand on the disc, they only need to be tightened hand tight to work too :) haven't used a tool for many, many years.
Awesome Sarah, loved this one! I also ask the question WHY? so many times in scrap yards, it makes my brain hurt why some vehicles end up in them!
After a few your videos, I've realized your channel is quite unique. Quirky charm!
That White Mopar in the yard appears to be a 2 door 1971 Plymouth Fury. Another one to be saved. Most had the 383 V8s. Great video Sarah and awesome work that you do.
"[...] 25 mm in common sense measure."
You never cease to amuse us, Sarah. Love the humor!
Keep doing what you do Sarah. Realistic and the way builds actually go. Thanks for sharing!
Great video Sarah thanks for the tour of the Pull n Save
Please don't apologize Sarah, the video you make is always perfect....chef's kiss 😘
Sooo glad you saved them!
Some people will never know as they only see them as cars and disposable.
Honestly love that its all over the place. it is the best part! (besides the killer cars) Cleaning ocd is something i wish more people had to btw 🙂
I'm in no hurry to see this project done. Most of the entertainment is Sarah, her personality, and her skill.
The Celica is the result of this. The car is going to be awesome, almost too nice to risk driving (almost! It would be a blast to drive around), I like it, so therefore I'm in no hurry to see it put away for the next project.
What you got against drunk people in sheds? It's just disheartening when my retirement dream is shattered by an influencer...
MOPAR Big Blocks have the distributor in front and at an angle, easiest way to tell
I thought the length of the video was a treat, in itself. It was nice to see some of the junkyard gems. The reworked bumpers are going to be beautiful.🙂
Skill and dedication that the rest of us can only aspire to.
I like the little nerf bars. It's like bling for bumpers!
Sarah that 74 Celica restomod build can tell going be ur personal show car.
The '69 Monaco (or Polara? they were essentially the same for '69) has a 318, which was the base engine that year. The 360 wasn't introduced until the '71 model year.
Sarah’s junkyard finds. New video series. I enjoyed that a lot.
I love this build. Nothing was ignored.
The bumperettes were a intermediate step. The government was enacting the impact standards but was giving the manufacturers grace time to restyle before the full-on bumpers became mandatory. Like in 1973, the big impact bumpers were mandatory in front, but they weren't mandatory front and back until 74.
How you feel about cars being crushed is how I feel with houses. When you see a house in bad shape, at some point a family was excited to purchase and move into it.
Always cool to see you and angel cake together!! He’s to funny and your jokes you guys create to funny. 🤣🤣
Love it! Thanks for putting in the time and work to show the "behind the scenes" part of car resto-mod that other channels don't show. You know your audience!
I love your attention to the smallest details on all your projects and making everything clean. Keep it up.
Yep, you whistled the Jurassic Park theme and I hit Subscribe! Great attention to detail, quirky humor, and I'm hooked - can't wait to see the Celica finished.
At least they are willing to make it right .Statistically you have been going strong without a lot of issues regarding out sourcing so kudos to you.Its worth it in the end when the Celica is purring .
I love those car cemetaries expeditions ✌
I'm a sucker for junkyards. I could spend hours wandering through one.
Love these “all over the place” vids. You’re doing the work! And we love watching it!
your hard work is never boaring
Pro tip, tape the chuck of your grinder, drill etc to the power cord right by the plug.
You'll always know where it is and it almost always forces you to unplug it in order to use the chuck.
I love going to the junkyard for parts
Kaiser Traveler. Very rare and definitely worth saving.
Grap the grinding wheel with your hand and unscrew it, Install the same way. No need to over tighten. 🦤
"I'm trying not to make this feel like a car that was built by a drunk person in a shed" my projects didn't need to be atttacked like that but they'll live 😂
Coming from a short track background I've known a few excellent builders who drank in sheds. 😂
Stay positive, rely on your abundance of skills and support from your colleagues & friends.
Another interesting update. So glad to see the bumpers restored to sanity. I love wandering around scrap yards, so many stories waiting to be told. Thanks.
That Mopar looks like a 1970 Dodge Polara with a 318/360 V8. I love that you are using those orange punches and chisels, Sarah!
it was a '69 Monaco
Love that you are always spitting random facts as you work.
Junkyards are fascinating. Museums of decaying dreams. :)
Cash for Clunkers was an absolute chit show of an idea. So many great old cars were destroyed. Thanks Obuma
Yea, I scrapped my 69 BOSS 429... ya goon.🤡
I remember my first trip to a junkyard back in the 80's. I was excited to go see what treasures it had but then got progressively sadder with each row I walked.
I would totally be okay watching videos of you and Angel wandering around car junk yards.
Enjoyed that quip about “common sense measure”. The metric system is logical and so much easier to work with!
SARAH, aluminum backseat cover presentation was cute!!! 😊
That old Ford is a sunliner i think they are called. The whole top folds back into the trunk. I think it was the first hardtop convertible
Ummmmm... not that one. It's a four door, and there are no indications of the roof being able to fold down into the trunk. Also, there is no "baggage well" in the center of the trunk floor where you could store a few suitcases with them being crushed by the roof retracting mechanisms. And, of course, there are no roof retracting mechanisms (you'd known of you saw it!).
No need to explain. The work you do is always interesting and entertaining.
A tip,..you can lock down the spindle of your grinder and spin the disk off by hand.... keep it unplugged during changes.
People get tired of sinking money into a vehicle. Some get bad diagnostic results like my dad once and parked my mom's car in the woods and left it there. I came home from an overseas deployment and fixed it and drove it for years. No shop had found the problem.
Keep up the hard work Sarah. I most certainly understand feeling like you are all over the place on a car build. I’ve been doing the same on my 1968 Barracuda swapping the old torsion bar suspension, etc to double adjustable coilover, rack and pinion steering from a fox body with a gm Saginaw pump, tubular k-member, upper/lower control arms, adding a sway bar and a 4 wheel disc brake conversion. Of course that turns into going down the rabbit hole for a bunch of other modifications. Lol. I am loving the Celica project and truly love seeing you show a lot of the little things that go into restoring it the proper way.
Fantastic as usual ❤ have a great day Sarah. Later Denton 🎼💜✌️
Restoring that Mazda Millenia S would be cool to see. No one is doing that for a pretty rare car. It was supposed to be the first car in their failed to launch Amati premium brand.
That was definitely an awesome junkyard trip! Many of those cars should not be in the junkyard, like you said. Especially the Kaiser and the Galaxy. That's just too sad.
Frankly I like these videos where you are all over the map so to speak, they are very relatable and often with your goofiness and innuendo they are really funny!😊
You are an amazing artist, and are doing a fantastic job, Sarah. And it’s definitely about the journey anyway- It’ll get done when it gets done, right;)? Have a great weekend, stay safe!
Small things are what make it great . Awesome job!
