  • A short film on the GWR diverts on Tuesday the 26th of February. Starting at Exeter Central, filming was done at Yeovil Pen Mill, Yeovil Junction, Castle Cary and a location near Sparkford. This set of diverts will be the last planned use of this line by GWR's HST fleet. A reduced service sees trains from Penzance/Plymouth to Paddington reverse at Exeter St Davids and head up the LSWR Waterloo line to Exeter Central and onwards to Yeovil Junction were the train then heads towards Yeovil Pen Mill and finally, Castle Cary where the train rejoins the GWR mainline. There are many single line sections between Exeter Central and Castle Cary with several passing loops, mainly at stations. The GWR services have to share these tracks with South Western Railways services with any delays by either company having the potential to cause chaos.
