Centrosome
• Within the cytoplasm and near the nucleus, we can find a spherical organelle knows as centrosome
• In multinucleate cells, a centrosome is near each nucleus.
• Centrosome is made up of two centrioles and surrounding amorphous pericentriolar material known as matrix.
• The centrioles are short cylindrical structure arranged at right angles to each other.
• The centrosomes are microtubule-organizing centers (MTOCs) that contain γ-tubulin.
• The microtubules grow out of this γ-tubulin in the pericentriolar material.
• When a cell divides, the centrosomes duplicate themselves, and the pairs move apart to the poles of the mitotic spindle, where they monitor the steps in cell division.
• Centrosome is the point of origin of the mitotic spindle.
Clinical link
Proper functioning of the mitotic spindle is a prerequisite for chromosome transportation. Inhibition with spindle poison leads to the arrest of mitosis and cessation of cell division. Spindle poisons include colchicine, which inhibits microtubule polymerization, as well as vinca alkaloids and taxanes.

I thought that centrioles were different things than centrosomes lol thank you for saying that centrosomes are made up of centrioles. No other source I read said that
Even i💀

Very helpful
Concept cleared
That was so good..
are these gamma tubulins known as massule /pericentriolar satellites?.....i was confused as i couldn't found any clear data about this on internet....because the function of both massule and Y-tubulins are same .....please can you provide some data about both of these?.....btw loved the video
Nice... Keep it up 👍
thanks for saving my science project!!!!

I really thought centrioles are the thing made up of thin strips kinda stuff and centrosome is the substance that surrounds it. Omg
What are hubs and spokes then, sir?
Helpful for me thank you
Two centrioles are collectively called centrosomes at90 degree
It was very nice and helpful 👍.. thankyou!!!

How do centrosomes & centrioles magically reproduced themselves? Maybe someone can explain this to me, and an athiestic, random occurrence, darwinistic, mutation / natural selection biologist? Can someone explain, why noone see obvious questions, that are being ignored?
Appreciate it, thanks.
