Will AMS ever make a full exhaust system for the Q60s? I had the wide mouth DP and single full exhaust on my Evo X and was absolutely in love with it and always recommend it to every Evo owner I run into. Would love if you guys did. Thanks!

They already did, its the same VR30 engine, so a lot of the mods that work on the Q50 will work on the 400z

Great video I have a Q 60 I want to know is it OK to wrap the intercoolers to keep the engine temperatures away from them

Being that it's a liquid/air and not a Air/Air. I would say yes it's OK to wrap them to prevent heat soak.
But then again it being liquid, it could possibly force the intercoolers to retain heat more. Since some air flow over the metal bodies could pull heat away too.
I'm also genuinely curious as to what AMS has tested. I always been iffy with heat exchangers.
This is not something that we have tested so unfortunately we can't say one way or the other. We'll pass along your suggestion to the R&D team for future testing. Thanks!

allegedly the 9-speed for the new Z should be a bit more robust.... personally I'll never own another automatic unless it's a true pdk or ZF in terms of reliability

Nice I have a 2017 RWD Q50S Added AMS Airboxes and Stillen Cat Back Exhasut...I'm at 426 hp now...any other ideas?
From their site this package is : "Red Alpha Cold Air Intake System, Red Alpha Heat Exchanger, Red Alpha Full Downpipes, Red Alpha High and Low Pressure Fuel Pumps, EcuTek Bluetooth Kit, the RA 500 E85 Tune.
I'm not sure if they left the exhaust out of this package but it sounds like you need a heat exchanger, downpipes, fuel pumps and an e85 tune to make closer to 500whp.
You push 426 with those 2 mods and your not a rs?
Man that’s a lot of gains for 2 mods. Wonder down the road if there will be problems blowing the engine..??
17’ Q50 Sport spec is on 300HP/295 Torque.
@@Unplugged704 the low boost vr30 is mechanically identical to the RS in everyway except boost pressure. the RS has turbine speed sensors but the low output engine also has the capability to monitor shaft speed, it just does it differently.
Do you have to build the automatic trans that's on the VR30 to hold 500WHP or is that what the stock trans is max rated at?
Simple driveshaft upgrade and billet flexplate and it’ll hold up fine. The 7AT might not be a DCT but it’s relatively strong till around 750whp 530-550wtq

But how reliable is that 500whp on this car can you daily it comparing to the n55 and b58s for 500WHP daily
It holds up pretty damn good. I think that's about the limit though, personally I wouldn't go past 500whp with stock internals on these cars.

I have a 2006 Zed and it is marvelous winter car.
Yeah - had a snow storm at the grand canyon, walked out to my Z, and surprise 3-5" of fresh snow... was fun going 25mph doggin it in 3rd gear for 2 hours in worn down ps4s tires... never again!! Learned that if you see 10-15% humidity in the forecast during the winter = be prepared. I suspect the horrible winter behavior of the 370z on snow has to do with being staggered and the rear differential... easily the worst vehicle I've ever delt with in the snow... my $800 pos mazda college student vehicle did much better, and it was a total $hitbox.
@@07wrxtr1 its the tires bro... get some winters on it and theyre actually pretty decent in the snow. worn down summers in the winter is asking for trouble
So what is AMS' stand on BOV's? They're not in any of your packages and from recent talk in the forum's, they're not needed and said to be detrimental to the VR30 platform by many tuners. The red Q50 didn't appear to have them and the blue Q60 did. Did these 2 cars have the exact same builds, except for the BOV's? 20HP difference between the two cars on the dyno.
They don’t sell them you buy it separately
Secondly, it just protects the turbo’s which is worth getting. Unless you want your turbos to blow.

I’m gonna ask a dumb question but with e85 can I use premium gas
E85 is a type of fuel. Premium gas (typically 91 or 93 octane) is also a type of fuel. If you are asking if you are able to use premium gas in a car tuned to take E85, it’s not ideal. The spark timing is completely different as well as a host of other factors that not only reduce efficiency but also may put parts of the car in jeopardy. If you’re planning on only running E85 and have reliable access to it anywhere you go, then go ahead. Otherwise, just go for a 91/93 tune (which is what I recommend for most people wanting power) or a flex fuel tune if you so desire.

I read that BOV on a MAF system could potentially cause really rich engine running conditions. Since most of the air read by the MAF gets dumped to atmosphere before mixing with the fuel.
Imagine if the q50 RS where 9 speeds with better turbos from factory
For the price of ams mods and tune to only get 200hp lol not worth it it's way too heavy. B58 has 380whp stock and with maybe 2k in mods 500whp and 500wtq

Basically the same except red sport has an extra intercooler pump and sensors on the turbo to protect it. That's why all that base models are blowing up because these kids are running map 4 jb4 lol
