Vic. is a freak of bass nature. just an awesome bassist and cool in person when you meet him.he autograph a bass for me when he came to Milwaukee Wisconsin. one of the coldest weather states in America. Great video peace!
This man has so much God given talent it is absolutely AMAZING!! If I had a thousandth as much talent, I would still be a rich man. I hear you are as good a person as a bass player. My hat's off to you. Only wish that one day I can see you play in person. I played bass when younger but never like this. Didn't know a bass could do so much!
An incredible musician and great guy. He came down to Florida for a clinic tour in Sam Ash not too long ago, and he literally answered EVERYONE who had a question. There was at least 80 people there.
Actually when he is looping he is practicing his creativity; he uses it as an exercise. He plays some random little line and tries to add to it to make it sound good. He needs to practice while performing because he doesn't have much free time elsewhere to do so. This is part of the reason why he has been able to grow while other musicians tend to "stall". Plus it doesn't hurt that it is entertaining for the audience as well.
It's simply mind-blowing what he can do with a standard 4-string bass. Players like him, Billy Sheehan and the late Jaco Pastorius never cease to amaze me. More players need to listen to them instead of adding more strings. Nothing against 5 or more strings, but be sure you've exhausted all possibilities with 4 before moving on. These aforementioned guys prove it's damn near impossible!
Felicidades totales sr.Wooten...
I've always loved Vic! But I lost my pation for him after seeing to much video of him shredding on the bass.... but this video brought me back on the track...DAMN!! This guy blow my mind like nobody.....
he does things that a beat machine does its amazing victor all the way baddest player of all time he plays with feeling forget age he just bad to the bone knows when to put the chords without any music and stays on beat yes
I love that littel tribute part he did from 3:23 foward. I could Identify pieces of Sharay Reed, Jaco, Marcus Miller, Mark Peric, and others... GREATNESS!!!!
I love that he's not that polished anymore. This is obviously just a jam, but I get the sense that he's getting a bit rougher around the edges. Which is great, gives it a little more intensity and heart. It has made me check him out again after years of not giving a s**t. His ideas are as great as ever though, tonally as well as rhytmic.
At this point in my life (in my wooten experience specifically) it's not even worth commenting on this to say how good this is or how much I love this. It's just victor doing everything I want him to do exactly how I want him to do it again. It's just another day of music
This is why I like Victor Wooten he plays music and not just rapid fire notes, (let’s see who can play most and fastest notes) I also like Marcus Miller for the same reasons, he plays music.
With all due respect (and I understand your position), he IS playing the bass. If you watch carefully, the only thing he looped was a rhythm track - everything else was done live, at least for the first eight minutes. Looping is a tool, just like any other technique, and I think it can be used well or poorly. In this video, I think Victor used it well and not so much as to be distracting.
Yea, I do, i'm not a huge Facebook fan. It's under ken Salvati. I'm the bass player for Victory Outreach International. We are leaving for our world tour in November of this year. Africa, then Australia, Amsterdam, London, and so on. We end the tour in Los Angeles convention center. 30,000 people. Here is one of our conventions 2 months back. I do that plus lots of studio work. Do you have an email address, ill send you some links
Watching this back after having read "The Music Lesson" puts his whole playing style into perspective. He is such an inspiration
You are such an inspiration Victor...
GOD Bless you and thank you inspiring me to be a better bass player and individual.
that portrait of tracy quote around 3:30 is just blissful

I achieved this same level of awesomeness for one full second. Broke every bone in my fingers in the process....Totally worth it.
What i especially love about victor is how authentic he is he seems to really really really love what he's doing.
4:47 I'm dead. man just scoobydoo leggd the board back to the groove .

I could listen to this all day! Love the way he plays bass, I love the Fodera's as well.
This is so awesome Victor knows how to enrich and play along with anyone that joins him, I wish i could be better in that regard like Victor

I'm a guitar player and I love just about everything vic plays! Is timing and improvisations are great
Yes he does seem to be getting better, lots of practise and a god given talent.
Awesome is an understatement for this guy!
i could listen to this all day ! 18 min isnt enough !
Name of the song at 8:20 is "Claim your Power" from Marcela Pinilla for those who are looking for it.
That's the nicest bass I've seen from Fodera.
It was a good time this year. Positive vibes all around

thats fantastic man.i can feel that you do it with all your energy.
I agree ! More melodic back then than yin yang fodera time. I also like some Namm 2013 performances when he played Ken Salvati’s Fodera 😀
As hard as it is to believe, I think Victor's getting even better. What a Bass Monster!
"So what languages do you speak?"
Victor: "Well, my primary language is BASS but I'm pretty fluent in english too."
I feel so much pleasure hearing that bass.

Felicidades totales sr.Wooten...
Fodera ultra lights. Victor got me hooked on those strings and I use them on all of my basses.
I think is getting much better with time. He's becoming more musical.
This guys finger tips must be like concrete.
I've always loved Vic! But I lost my pation for him after seeing to much video of him shredding on the bass.... but this video brought me back on the track...DAMN!! This guy blow my mind like nobody.....
Now There's a Man who knows what GROOVE is!
Every time a segment is skipped my heart skips a beat too.
You my friend are one very talented man.
The awesome Victor again... so cool!
Thanks!
This is heavenly talent!!
uns dos melhores baixista que eu vi em toda minha vida ...maravilhoso !!!
I bow to you, God of bass. Wooten is the Yin and the Yang
The bass whisperer!!
he does things that a beat machine does its amazing victor all the way baddest player of all time he plays with feeling forget age he just bad to the bone knows when to put the chords without any music and stays on beat yes
This is awesome, I love when he just jams instead of playing his songs all the time.
One of the Best!
The master .... victor wooten!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Victor Wooten = God Bass. all technique bass in his performance
The entire family is similarly talented
I love that littel tribute part he did from 3:23 foward. I could Identify pieces of Sharay Reed, Jaco, Marcus Miller, Mark Peric, and others... GREATNESS!!!!
Watching Victor play always brings a smile to my face, Love his playing its so inspiring.

Stanley: I mean Victor has aged with his music. He will be looked on as one of the greats as well. Really nice job Vman
Can someone shw me how to play that, that is some cool and funky bass playing
I think you're right, he just gets better and better..
The best musician forever!!!
(I do not know how 30 stupid people dislike this - they should be watching Lady Gaga or Michel Telo trash)
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk 🇧🇷👊🏼
Honestly, Lady Gaga is probably the only good female pop singer to survive in the 2010s.
When I read that I thought "no way", but after listening I have to agree. His groove is unbelievable.
12:08 Victor thinks to himself...
"In the pocket... in the pocket...
just like my hand, stay in the pocket."
Victor Wooten is biggest of talent player bass guitar ........
You know also I'd say
Just super..the legend of bass
Please come to Indonesia in java jazz festival 2014. Awesome,
At this point in my life (in my wooten experience specifically) it's not even worth commenting on this to say how good this is or how much I love this. It's just victor doing everything I want him to do exactly how I want him to do it again. It's just another day of music
Love mister master blaster Wooten, Amazingly amazing
Truly Awesome
Wooten is currently the best bass player to me.
Every time I watch a new Vic video I have to rewind to see "WTF did he just do"
El Señor Víctor Woten es el Maestro del Bajo, con un repertorio inagotable de recursos
That little harmonic thing he does at 1:05 is SWEET!!!
Wow! Awesome video my brother! :)
Greetings from Brazil!
Juninho

Funny thing is, he almost was... Started playing at 2-3, performing on stage with his brothers at age 6. As you said, unreal.
3 : 45 marcus miller power
김시훈 thanks for that. Remember buying that M2 album when it was released 16 years ago. Still fresh to me and I'm getting old AF
...
I heared that
They still make strings. They have just stopped making them on-site. Check their website for more info on that.
I believe it's the Boss Re-30 loop pedal. They cost about $130 in the US.
Super Massa Victor é o Cara!!!
Victor, I get it Man.
Thanks.
Can wait to meet you.
Yeah.
Dang! He just keeps on improving!

When he works in portrait of Tracy at 3:31, that's when I knew this was going to be a amazing video
