Perfect timing,watched Lars Andersen and some Lajos Kassai very recently. I doubt CA will pay finer detail to equipment accuracy when it comes to bows but at least the rapid fire can be simulated with abilities.

You can't shoot properly that fast. Lars is nothing more than a performer. He uses boys unsuitable for even hunting, much less warfare. Kassai is much more credible.

Can't wait for this. I wasn't interested in playing the Egyptian factions but love the timeframe, so I bought it anyway and tried a Hattusa campaign. It just felt so cul-de-sac'd though only having central Anatolia with no east-west axis, and i couldn't get into it. When the full map drops I'll probably do another Hittite campaign first.
Ikr,playing the Hittites without western Anatolia and the Assyrian threat is...not as dramatic as it should be. What's your favorite Hittite faction ? Kurunta is probably going to be a nightmare after the update considering he's right next to the Aegean hot spot.
The 'random start position' campaign mode is gonna go HARD with the minor factions. You could be playing as Tausret and be surrounded by whole new factions you would never meet otherwise
They definitely should make at least 10 unique units for each minor factions. And maybe even some buildings, for Odysseus for example. Otherwise it makes almost no point at all. Also if you think a lil bit, some descr tell this - no heavy units or no archers. If they would get only local roster they would have archers or heavy units. They couldnt avoid heavy units near Anatolia. Therefore they are making unique units for each faction I suppose.
Yeah,I agree that they should get unique units - I'm not worried about the Aegean and Mesopotamian minor factions as they're definately getting attention + a lot of unique stuff from Troy would be easy to add to the minor factions. I do hope the older cultures get something but it's not looking good for them.
@@ReptilicusTVwhere did you hear that?, if he leads napata there will be two major issues:1. his troy mechanics are focused on using units from outside the map, that are inside it now, so they would have to change it a lot and 2. it would mean two factions that are ridiculously overpowered almost bordering each other. I think they would need to expand a little bit south and create a big kush/nubia/aethiopia culture, with amenmesse being hybrid(also having egypt) and memnon local.

If you look at the actual depiction of a Mesopotamian sickle sword at 30:30 you'll see the tip of the curve is forward, not backward as is shown in the game in the next scene. It's not a cavalry sabre, but a true sickle design which curves forward. Cimmerians: do we get Conan?
Will here be local court mechanics for the troy and Mycena, sth like a greek empire? The current greek map in plan seems too small for an empire that requires enough sacred land though

I'll be brutally honest as a MP vet - the current state of Pharaoh MP is beyond dead and shock infantry is broken af,a little bit less than launch but they're still busted.If they're fixed,the game has great MP potential,however IF the new cavalry units are overpowered in the update we'll be looking at everyone playing Assyria / Cimmerian native roster if they want to cheese wins. If that's the case,any tournament I'll host will have to be regulated with some heavy rules.

They are ( lullubi ) and they're extremely strong with their roster - my tier list has their native units covered if you wanna have a sneak peak at their looks/combat strength.
my biggest issue with TW games are how they change lines, if you want to kill all of your men its a great tactic, spread your line out a few men and see what happens
Why be concerned that some faction may start with weaker units? Many of us unlock worse, most unplayable factions that are supposed to be gone in few turns just for the fun of struggle. One of the first mods i downloaded for rome2 was unlocking poor Etruscan League:D In times of rome 1 i was building empires with Numidia and Thrace(thrace required path because it was crashing often). Minor factions may be sometimes pain to play with, but its few times more rewarding if you succed!
Of course,it's a big part of the challenge + fun factor. But having the same few units unless you end up conquering a third of the map or something might get boring fast for some people. Me ? I love a good challenge! Numidia was my favorite Rome 1 faction so respect!
The only thing that disappointed me was that they included Mesopotamian and Greek gods and forgot those from Egypt, since the game's proposal is the Pharaoh of Egypt.
Aegean ones, either Aechaea or Troy. Probably the former, i just hope the minor factions don't disappoint. Like, i never even played once with Agamemnon in TW: Troy, i ran Achilles, Aeneas, Rhesus and Odysseus. Menelaus, Agamemnon playstyles were boring as hell, in Troy - they didn't suit me at least. Ajax was also fun.
Yeah Agamemnon was wayyyyyyyyyy too streamlined and easy,especially with his tribute mechanic. I played the same factions as you in Troy though Lycia stood out for me personally because they had access to khopesh units. Odysseus/Achilles will be a blast in Pharaoh for sure,ain't no way they won't get some of their unique units added.

Pharaoh does have a learning curve,but luckily they're adding a lot of customisation options ( for gameplay) with the new update - if you're new it's perfect to jump in and tweak the settings so you can learn the game - and then take it higher.
I agree,we'll see what happens to that with the new Dynasty system. In the WORST case scenario there are mods that rename the factions,Benjin made one on steam,to be a bit more historically accurate.
Im lookin for a historical game with a good online player base. Warhammer fun and all yet its not strategic when you can take out 4 units with a vortex fire shadow tornado
Right now Pharaoh is pretty dead but the update will bring some life into it. Most of the historical playerbase for MP rn is pretty small in other games but maybe it'll pop off here.
I'll be 100 % honest - when the update hits it'll be 100 % worth it. The biggest map ( settlement wise), a great cultural variety and important factions. If the update wasn't coming out i'd say wait for a sale but now,it's honestly so worth.
I wish they were in game but the map cuts off just before the Caucausus unfortunately. The Kaskians are in the game at least and a part of them surely lived in the Kolchis area - so you can at least recruit those units into your armies.
Why do Manorlords battles look so much better than these visuals...TW looks particularly bad now that I am seeing it after getting use to Manorlords weightier and more grounded animations and physics
The matched combat they returnd to for Pharaoh still looks like most soldiers are randomly swinging and kicking at air,haven't seen a Rome 2 level of a duel yet. Didn't get to play Manorlords yet,how would you rate it?

You get this update for free if you own Pharaoh. You don;'t need Troy at all!

Im lookin for a historical game with a good online player base. Warhammer fun and all yet its not strategic when you can take out 4 units with a vortex fire shadow tornado
Right now Pharaoh is pretty dead but the update will bring some life into it. Most of the historical playerbase for MP rn is pretty small in other games but maybe it'll pop off here.
Is this game worth it seems like this the most unpopular total war
I'll be 100 % honest - when the update hits it'll be 100 % worth it. The biggest map ( settlement wise), a great cultural variety and important factions. If the update wasn't coming out i'd say wait for a sale but now,it's honestly so worth.

Why there is no Kolchians or moskhi people ?
I wish they were in game but the map cuts off just before the Caucausus unfortunately. The Kaskians are in the game at least and a part of them surely lived in the Kolchis area - so you can at least recruit those units into your armies.

Why do Manorlords battles look so much better than these visuals...TW looks particularly bad now that I am seeing it after getting use to Manorlords weightier and more grounded animations and physics
The matched combat they returnd to for Pharaoh still looks like most soldiers are randomly swinging and kicking at air,haven't seen a Rome 2 level of a duel yet. Didn't get to play Manorlords yet,how would you rate it?
