This really helps! I've been a CCA for almost a year. My office has had me on the rural side for months and I put a hold down on a route on the City side and my supervisor pulled me in the office a couple weeks into my hold down talking about me getting back at 5 instead of 4 and asking why it's taking me so long. My Steward didn't represent me at all and I was really upset. I felt let down and I didn't know the meeting was coming. I thought I was going to get written up or fired and it really stressed me out. I really appreciate this video!
I got disciplined for not directly texting or calling my postmaster/manager on my sick day, i did it online and got confirmation code , shop steward was just sitting there in silence
Awesome!!! I have a question about protected Status and walking out for the PDI. I can walk out because I'm in protected Status, but is the Carrier opening themselves up to discipline if they walk out with me? Or are they also covered? I have a feeling some Carriers are gonna be torn between listening to their Steward and following a direct order from mgmt
Two questions? One what does management need in order to prove the carriers are scheduled to work on the date of the absences? Two. I recently recieved a discipline that violates due process and is procedurely defect9ve but my steward says he cant do much with that, what can I do?
Have you ever come across a supervisor that limited the carrier from fully answering the questions they were asking? Example: the carrier was giving a detailed answer to the question asked that gave specific details to the incident in question but as they were answering the supervisor cut them off and said they could complete and write the rest of the answer in the written statement portion of the interview questions papers. Do you think this a violation of any articles or memorandums or even their Weingarten rights?
Yes it would be a violation. The just cause interview is their day in court. Make management sit there and write the whole answer, it is tedious but it is their right.
Hi, if I do not get statements from employees when they see management going to street to do carriers work, is there a way to see when they scan parcels or sprs to prove they were doing our work since they do not admit to it?
@nildaramos4512 Why don't you interview the carriers? Sometimes you have to gently explain to them that if they don't respond with the truth it's gonna end up hurting them in the end. And if they respond with the truth they may actually be the recipients of the grievance payouts. You could also request the parcel's scan reports for a certain route. But if the supervisor logs in with an employee's id number you may be able to With an interview established that the employee whose number was used did not deliver those parcels so by process of elimination, you could contend that the supervisor in fact did it. Keep trying eventually it'll break.
Can a MHA file a grievance about attendance? My daughter work for usps she has depression but she tried pushing thru everyday the past 4 months since starting but her supervisors are so rude and as a result she’s become very depressed n started calling out now she has a letter of a 7 day suspension when she received it she sent her doctors note n she called union the union rep called her back n they talked union rep told her she n the supervisors will have grievance with her by phone today. This is my daughter first job she’s young and really doesn’t know the terms they use she doesn’t know what to expect can you help please

Why I said to never raise your voice or get angry as an steward. It's called being professional.

@Echo_5_Charlie No that's their right under Weingarten.
If my steward is not doing these things, should I go higher up in the Union? I feel like I am not being represented properly.
Of course

Can you make more videos about pdi and tricks supervisors don’t know
Did you watch the entire video entitled Defenses to attendance related discipline?

Say you have 3 separate call ins in 90 days, what would a 4th reprimand?
There is no set number when it comes to meeting just cause, however more than 3 calls in a quarter usually triggers the system.
Hey I have a question , what is the rule on the supervisors asking you to do overtime right when u punching out?
If You haven't clocked out you're fair game. Once you clock out The guarantees in article eight kick in.

The same principles apply, the just cause principles.Hopefully, your daughter can make it to 1 year. Then she will qualify for fmla.
