- I haven't uploaded in almost 6 months, but I got a new daily and it's in DIRE need of some maintenance. In today's video, my wife and I will be fixing the world's leakiest BMW oil filter housing gasket, a severed brake sensor, replacing the spark plugs and ignition coils, and doing a complete coolant flush and oil change.

@@DJ-sr9yqyeah, the low mileage flooded 135i is going to be LS swapped. I took the N54 from it and put it in my OG 135i. Will post an update video on that all soon 👍🏼

It was good to see another video from you. If uploading stuff like this helps clear your head, get footage finally off the sd card, and makes room for you to tackle on real projects and make a much more start-to-finish or multi-part build series video, then doing these small little videos is great.

This channel started off as being an educational source for me, but it's now evolved into chilling/relaxing with a creator who you like. Easy to kill time while I'm driving, doing stuff around the house, or just bored. If you do a bmw, or LS how-to, or road trip, or garage video, I'll watch that and then archive the knowledge for later when I want to tackle the same thing myself. You have tons of options here, Jake, but going inactive for too long of a time will be the biggest Kryptonite, I think. Keep up the good work. 👍 Hope to do a midwest group meet one day with some of your fans. 🏎️
I think you hit the nail on the head... being inactive for months at a time isn't good for me (or any of ya'll)! I think you shouldn't try to make each video viral. maybe focus more on putting out content that's genuinely helpful (which you've always done) and I think the views/subs will come in time. I know it's not easy seeing some other more clickbaity creators in the car space but I'd argue that they are more 'comedy/IRL' channels than actual car content creators. Gotta pick a lane 🙂. Hey so glad to see you here!! YAY! Jake I really enjoyed watching you work on the car and seeing the oil leak as well so I don't feel like mine are so bad LOL. So on the yellow coolant. IT'S NOT NECESSARILY INCORRECT COOLANT! There are now other companies making coolant that is made with the BMW and other car model Brands etc specs. I've bought and used more than one type myself. They actually say one the bottles what cars they are for AND they don't cost $80 a jug! One brand is yellow of the BMW another is almost a green color,

Personally, I would've replaced the valve cover too if you haven't already done that relatively recently or at all. Once those things warp, your engine just start pissing oil all over the engine bay.
Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad idea but I really didn't see any seeping or leaking from it. Just the oil filter housing gasket. I sprayed down the block with brake clean so I can see if there is any more oil coming from other places. Usually once you seal something up on these BMWs, another leak pops open 😂
@@jake_spence I feel that. A couple years ago, I replaced my oil filter housing gasket on my 128i only for the valve cover to start leaking just a couple weeks later. Ended up retrofitting my N52 with a magnesium valve cover.

@@jake_spence Yeah ahah 😂It gives more top end (tuned its about 270 crank i think) and its more reliable since there's no DISA valve that can be sucked in the engine.
Turbo'd N52 use it too !
