Thank you
I cannot find the breaker, but I do not want to turn off the main breaker. Is it still safe to do live wire? Do I have to turn off the main breaker?
Is it possible to use the existing chime with the wired Ring doorbell? What is the purpose of the jumper cable? I thought it was so the Ring doorbell would work with the existing chime. It does not work that way. Thank you. Joe
Thank you for sharing? I have a question: What if we put no jumper cable in the bell box like you showed?
I think it just means your existing bell wouldn't work
Without the jumper cable you wouldn't have power to your ring
@@guidedbygreen1480 Hi, I just installed one of these but when I fitted the jump wire it made the transformer buzz constantly.
So I didn't connect it and the ring wired seems to be working 👌
I didn't realize when I bought it that it would disable the chimes but have Alexa set up now.
I will be getting a ring chimes though.
@@gml1868 that's so interesting. The jump wire essentially completes the circuit allowing the power to go to the front door... As long as it works. If you go into your settings into the app and device status, you can see the voltage ⚡, you tap on it and it switches to tell you the number and if it's a healthy amount. To ensure you're all good.
I ended up getting an Alexa as the chime, no complaints there. The device is great, but the Ring app needs lots of improvement. They'll get there lol
@@guidedbygreen1480 yeah, I checked the app and it says voltage⚡️ good, I also checked at the terminals and have 11.6v
So I have no idea what the jumper wire is supposed to do 🤷♂️.
Now got Alexa working well.
My biggest issue was Wi-Fi strength💪
Why does it disable the house chime? I have my doorbell 2 connected to the hardwire with the battery and the house chime still works i never used the ring plug in chime
Great useful video. I wondering, we tried to set up and when we turned the power breaker back on the light around d thr button never came on. Our wires are thicker too, not as thin as yours. Any idea what it could be?
Thanks for the video! Question, I have two doorbells, one back and one front (I don't know why)...so do you just install the second one, use one jumper? And can you connect external chime to both?
Will the older Ring chime work?
Hi. My existing doorbell is just like yours. Wondering if the existing screw holes will fit the ring door bell or a new hole needs to be made?
Is there any way to have the Ring chime and the existing mechanical chime to coexist?
looks like no one knows, I agree with you in what you are asking
Thank you great video , I was wondering if your Existing doorbell is on a side wall would you install it on the side wall???
