- Опубліковано 9 лют 2024
- There are doctors all over the world learning about and starting to recommend low-carb, keto, and carnivore diets. Here are some tips you can use to find a keto-friendly doctor, and even a carnivore-friendly doctor.
If a doctor understands low-carb then they understand keto. If a doctor understands a ketogenic diet then they will understand a carnivore diet.

It's so frustrating, I work in a doctor's office and I am trying to get started on a carnivore diet. I turn down their statins and diabetes drugs and am pretty much labeled noncompliant. They make fun of me when I talk about this way of eating like "here she goes again, thinking she knows more than we do", but I actually do! They will see when I reverse my diabetes and bring my blood pressure down! Ugh...
Thi is how we change the world. Keep it up
Go girl!!! Screw the nonbelievers and do your thing.
I'd say if it's the fat ones making fun of your eating while they eat their Subway footlongs, I wouldn't take them too seriously.

I will be calling you tomorrow. Monday. I've been praying for a good keto carnivore doctor in this area. They've diagnosed me with diverticulosis, but I'm not sure it's not something else? but I'm not going back to the way I did eat I've lost almost 50 poundsand I have overcome kidney failure, and the pain off of fibromyalgia and a knee replacement with the PT people calling me a rockstar… But I need to talk to someone to know what to do
I asked a friend who his primary care provider was. He recited some doctor's name. I said "Wrong. Your primary care provider is you. Everybody else is just support staff".
Exactly.😀

I bought a Teddy Bear with a stethoscope, put it in the corner, and it's my new doctor.
Does he have a brother
Nicely done!
Great idea! Since I went keto then ketovore, and now for a couple of years carnivore, many of my specialist doctors are releasing me and telling me to call them IF I ever need them again!! I'm 71, and no longer type 2 diabetic, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are mostly gone, and I am off 7 of my 11 long term prescriptions! Feeling better than I have in over 20 years!! Need me a teddy bear doctor!! 😂😂 Thanks for the suggestion!! This way of eating really heals many health issues!! God bless you! ❤️🤗🙏🙏

These are my 5 rules for practice
1. I measure my success by how little I need to do for you
2. The best medication is and always will be the one you never need to take
3. The best operation is the one you never need to have.
4. Stay away from doctors, a doctor's bag is full of sharp instruments and poison, and they are willing to use them at every opportunity
5. When you DO need a doctor, find a doctor that practices by these five rules!
Finally, never in my life did I go to a BBQ for the salad (or lentil burgers)

Back in early 2020, when I started seeing my most recent doctor (when my wife and I switched to Kaiser), in the sign-up information I wrote that I was Type 2 Diabetic in my pre-existing conditions. The doctor did some preliminary labs (mostly as a physical or whatever) and when I came back a few days later for the results, he was like: 'Are you SURE you're Diabetic? Your A1C is 5.0!'
So, I told him that I'd been diagnosed back in 2018 with an A1C of 7.6 and started keto right after that, dropping my A1C down within a year or so. He was really surprised, but since then he just keeps saying: 'Whatever you're doing, keep doing it, because your numbers are great! You're diabetic for insurance purposes, because of that old diagnosis, but in reality, you've reversed it!'.
I am lucky. My M.D. suggested a low carbohydrate diet to lose weight. He was happy that my blood tests improved so much . 😚👍

Hello can you direct me to anyone in Savannah Ga or around the area?
I’m 80 y/o, live in Northern California & am a member of a well known, gigantic HMO. My doctor is a woman who received her medical education in Pakistan. When my A1c hit 6.5 she told me, “no meds, low carb and exercise daily.” I use a walker & do a mile every day. I eat very low carb. In three months, I’ve lost 30 lbs, A1c is 5.8 and no longer have a myriad of annoyances like eczema, insomnia, &. acid reflux. My hair is thicker, nails are stronger, and my previously white-coated tongue is pink. Low carb works!

I was getting tired of my nurse practitioner spending all her time telling me I had to go on statins. It did not matter that my blood pressure went down. my sugar was under control, I felt great, and my arthritis basically went away. I decided to go to another Doctor who is part holistic and part Md, she was absolutely amazing. She thought the carnivore diet was a great way for me to lose weight and feel better. And we would just see what happens from there. And she's going to help me all the way. I can't believe how good it felt to have someone on my side? And who is willing to help me with all other things that are going on as well.

Thank you for your comment. It's nice to hear as I've been carnivore for 4 weeks now and feel great. My concern is I keep reading that it could cause gut issues leading to colorectal problems and heart disease. I'm trying to dig further to find out what's actually true. I, too, was recently diagnosed with cancer on my right kidney. Was supposed to have surgery Jan. 10 (my 69th birthday) but decided against it. When I told my Urologist cancer specialist I want to heal it metabolicaly, he had a fit !!! He acted like he didn't know what metabolic meant. He suggested I IMMEDIATELY get this surgery done. When I said "no" he agreed to let me have another Cat Scan done in June. I started Carnivore on my b-day Jan. 10 and already feel better. Long ways to go to being well, tho. Debbie in Florida
Good for you. You WILL get help for your cancer. If Keto can heal glioblastoma, like Ted Kennedy died from, you should have great results. We all need each support. I've had severe neuro symptoms for 14 mo. and without an appetite I've been doing keto for one week and now carnivore for a week, and it's a challenge to keep my weight up there. I'm 74y.o otherwise in excellent health. I haven't eaten sugar for 11 years. Before I started keto and then carnivore my blood sugar was only 5.3 so I'm wondering how low it can go or should go ? I need to find a dr. in the Mpls/StPaul area.
DO NOT MISS the video with Drs. Berry and Fung! They discuss "wait and watch" care; their explanations about cancer are amazing.
All the best to you!!
Bravo to mock and standing up to that quack!👏👏👏👏 sending you hugs and best wishes for your journey to healing!💜♥️🌻🙏🏼

When i told my doctor i was doing carnivore, he suggested I read a book called "The Big Fat Surprise" by Nina Teicholz. He's a great doctor!

My neurologist (who was very dismissive of diet being a factor in epilepsy) retired and they left me with his Nurse Practitioner who is AWESOME. She can write prescriptions and she started out her medical career as a nutritionist. She is completely onboard with the idea of de-prescribing drugs unlike her MD predecessor. Also after my 4 week everyday radiotherapy sessions my Oncologist was surprised to see a "remarkable reaction to the radiation treatment."
Thankyou Dr Berry, you told me the TRUTH and I was able to adjust my lifestyle for much better health.❤
Carnivores are hardly sick which is awesome! We do need a list of doctors for sure though.
Keep in mind. Your doctor isn’t your boss. They do not dictate what you “must” do. If your doctor has opinions you don’t care for, just disregard them. You can choose to engage in polite debate or simply nod as they give you advice you don’t agree with. Then do what you want to do. It’s no different than the obese patient that comes in every six months or so for a check up and is as big or bigger. Their doctor gives them advice and they simply ignore it. In your case however, your health will be improving rather than getting worse. That’s an entirely different doctor patient discussion at that point
Las time I saw my primary, in December, I told her I no longer wanted to take statins. She said outright, "no, you cannot stop statins". Well, when I got home I trashed them. I see her again in early March. I wonder what she will say about my decision.

My young doc isn't really for or against keto/carnivore but he just says keep doing whatever I'm doing because it's working, even if my LDL dips above 200. Down 166#, got off all meds, A1C down, CRP down, etc....he seems to take notes, maybe I'm, in some way, educating him. Who knows.

@Cathie happened to me in the ER some weeks ago. He was solely focused on telling me I was wrong in the past (by having minimally invasive surgery instead of hysteroctomy, since I'm 47yo), instead of trying to help me. Told him I respect his expertise but I WAS the one making a decision after all my Qs were answered, since it appeared I was also the only one concerned with quality of life going forward. That shut him up. So hold your ground & don't let them upset you. We are in control of our lives & health, with the help of open-minded, smart doctors.
Exactly!! Their egos!!
Right? I hear you. It's amazing how they think they know more than you because they have a medical degree. Unfortunately, some things you don't want to tell your doctor what you're doing w/o being frowned upon. I'm doing carnivore and am successfully losing the weight little by little. My doc doesn't know about it either. My BP is still high for now and am currently taking 1 BP med at night time. I'm looking into herbal supplements to help the BP along but am afraid to tell my doc w/o some scolding or skepticism, yet it's rather odd they do approve fermented beet juice which I try to take every morning.
I had an appointment with a new doctor a couple days ago. I had spent 3 years trying to train up my previous doc, but with no success. This time I took three medical journal articles with me ready to stand up for my way of life.
It turned out that he was totally open minded. He has some awareness of the problems with the typical views on saturated fat, cholesterol, statins etc. He welcomed the articles I gave him. he is going to help me find a doctor to help me manage hashimotos (as this is not his specialty). I think he is going to be a great and supportive doctor.
He was indeed a young doctor.
Name, state?
My pulmonary Dr. guessed I started a carnivore diet when he saw how great i was doing. He told me he was living a keto lifestyle. Oddly he stressed for me to be sure I let the other Drs in the group know he did not tell me of this carnivore diet. 🤔
Dr.'s are under extreme pressure to tow the line of current standard medicine by big pharma and the medical boards. If they stray off the path they could suffer financial and/or punishment. Like a communist society if your peers hear or feel your not on board, they will report you.
Just goes to show not only the patients have problems with closed-minded doctors, but doctors in the same practice have problems with closed-minded doctors they have to work with. Imagine having to work like that. Has to be stressful. I'm sure there are days he'd like to scream at them...or the nurses, or the insurance companies.

My husband was just diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer and it's spread to his bones and lymph nodes. His very first visit with the Oncologist, I asked about Metabolic therapy, which is a very low or no carb diet, with L-Don to block Glutamine. He was rude, condescending and dismissive of it - flat out cut me off - I really did the man. We of course, are doing Carnivore anyway.
Hope it works 😊
🙏🙏🙏
Did your husband get a second opinion about his cancer diagnosis?
There are "doctors" who are misdiagnosing patients with cancer on purpose. $$$
A doctor went to prison for intentionally misdiagnosing over 500 people, and many died bc of the toxic chemo and radiation therapy. He made a lot of money off of their suffering. That monster is not the only one doing that.
"Federal investigators amassed evidence that Farid Fata had bullied and deceived 553 people into getting chemotherapy treatments they did not need, causing the patients' insurance companies and Medicare to pay $34 million in fraudulent and unnecessary claims".
"Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality" estimates roughly 7.4 million people are inaccurately diagnosed of the 130 million annual visits to hospital emergency departments in the United States. Some 370,000 patients may suffer serious harm as a result."
Yall are in my prayers 🙏
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You're probably aware of Dr. Thomas Seyfried's Press-Pulse therapy protocol. He mentions that bare minimum doses of radiation/chem can be used in conjunction with the therapy, but full blast (like many ill informed Onco's like) is not advised.
I went with my sister to her cardiologist and she once again had to refuse their statins and other drugs she’d already had harmful reactions to. Her doctor got angry, told her he couldn’t help her with that attitude and told her she needed a psychiatrist. I about punched him. He continued to berate her and shame her, then stormed out. I’ve never witnessed such behavior. And from a doctor. And they wonder why we lose faith in the mainstream medical practice.

I asked for a carotid artery scan and she told me, no, we don't do that. We only treat symptoms. Yeah, like stroke? That got a nervous laugh. I paid out of pocket to have it done elsewhere. First scan showed mildly blocked in both. No blood flow restriction. 2 yrs later had another one and left carotid is absolutely clear and the right has residule blockage. So keto/carnivore is working. Told the doc what I did and she actually had the nerve to ask for copies of the results. I laughed in her face and said it would cost her 300.00 and left. I’m not sure I agree with you on the young doctor aspect. I am a hospitalist and have been a physician since 1998. My husband and I started carnivore 2 years ago. My younger cohorts have been so ingrained with big pharma trash that they frequently try to convince me that my WOE is inherently unhealthy. It’s so annoying and it’s the younger docs who are the most persistent.
There are NO doctors listed for my area, or any of the surrounding states. It would be very helpful if all you carnivore/keto doctors pooled your knowledge and your clout and ganged upon the rest of the Heathcare system, and tried to educate the rest of you. Some way besides your UA-cam channels.
We are working on it!
@@KenDBerryMDwe appreciate you all!
There are plenty of folks out there that would pay for a Co-op style "insurance" plan that covered Teledoc visits even if it meant paying out of pocket for bloodwork from the local Labcorp.....which seem to be everywhere. @@KenDBerryMD
I am an LCSW and have worked in mental health and addiction for 18 yrs. I personally follow a ketogenic diet as well as practice intermittent fasting. The research that supports this life style for mental health stability is really beginning to stack up. I always encourage clients to tap into the power of nutrition and other lifestyle factors before medication. I would love a list of medical practitioners I could refer to when I have a client who is ready to take the jump in the Nashville or surrounding areas.
Rimas Janusonis, MD Oshkosh Wisconsin is my doctor and he is very supportive of a low no carb carnivore lifestyle he suggested it for me. I did find him using one of Dr Berry's older links, I just can't remember which one!
He was my doctor too, before we moved 6 hours away 😭
T.Y.
@@kristinebuell67 he is a great doctor! There is another female doctor I believe she's a DO I just can't remember what her name is.
I wish I could find a low-carb dr in SE Pennsylvania. My last doctor here told me that red meat was proven to cause colon cancer. And was incensed that I asked for a link to a clinically controlled trial proving it.
I also live in that area. I’m desperate to find an open minded doctor too. I’m tired of being scolded.
100 yrs ago colon ca was 36th most common cancer; now its one in three. People years ago ate plenty of meat.
Yes, also looking in SEPA.
I am lucky my family doctor, Dr. Michael Kauzlarich in Kingsport, Tennessee has experienced the miracle of the carnivore diet and understands its benefits. When I told him I was getting my information from Dr. Berry, he said oh, I met him at a keto conference in Nashville ❤
We’re in Clarksville Tennessee. Not seeing anyone on the list closer than 2.5 hours away. I wouldn’t mind visiting Dr. Berry in Camden. I’d even lend a hand on the ranch!
I didn't find any doctor in all of tn. I'm Rutherford County.
I’m in the NC foothills, having same luck.
Thanks for this video.
Dr. Stephen Miller is my Cardiologist and supports low carb and red meat consumption. He’s in Murray, Utah
Yay! Murray is only 30 mins from me....although I'm not in need of a cardiologist. I'm glad to know they are here. I'm going to search in the list.
This awesome, I am not in need of a cardiologist either but would like to know how you located someone who was keto/carnivore friendly. I live-in Southern utah.
@@sarahstocks3088 - At the time, I was working with a doctor who specialized in weight loss with Keto. He referred me to Dr. Miller. The Keto doctor was referred to me by a friend, and has since retired.
However, I've found doctors by simply calling their office asking if they work with low carb patients.
Tim Ryan, MD
84 Pine Grove Rd, Cartersville, GA 30120
Family practice physician
I live in Carrollton, GA. Dr. Ryan is my Keto Doctor which is about an hour’s drive but worth it. He is well liked in the community.
I just looked up the address and unfortunately it’s 2 hours from me in Maysville, Ga. Thanks for listing though 😊
My experience with Doctors here in the UK, is they are not interested in the root cause for anything and only seem to be trained and interested in writing prescriptions for everything. The only things they are concerned about is getting me vaccinated for covid, flu, or meningitis and putting me on Blood pressure and statin meds. Its like their job is to be a drug pusher for Big Pharma. Dont even get me started on Psychiatrists, they are even worse for wanting people on as much medication as your brain can take, it is ridiculous 😒 Anyway! Thanks for sharing this advice Dr Berry, your Honesty and professional advice has without! a doubt changed my life for the better. 👍 🥩 ❤
I live in the U.K. too and it has been awful since 1985, when from 49 kilos I suddenly started putting on 5kg each month. To this day I have arguments with them in clinic or hospitals. Even the young ones, all arrogant and ignorant
NHS is 86% funded by big pharma
Same here in UK
AND DR BERRY saved me
It seems this is the case everywhere. It is unbelievable how broken the entire medical establishment is ...No need for them to change though, they are making bank.
Goggle Dr David Unwin UK
Sean Dittman, FNP in Cibolo, TX just outside San Antonio. He will draw the labs and scans you request to ensure you are metabolically healthy. He didn't bat an eye at my high LDL or me telling him I was carnivore. He definitely doesn't push medications either unless they're temporarily necessary with a plan to get off.
Okay OH, KY, IN docs, where can we find you?
Thank you DB for encouraging a network list of HCP's!
Dr. Berry, I appreciate ALL the help you have given me with my many health issues!! This is a great suggestion! I will definitely check out the sites for my location. I have been blessed to have had a medical student doctor approve of the keto and ketovore way of eating before I went carnivore! I was surprised! I go to the UAB Hsv campus for the medical school in Birmingham, AL, and see a student intern first, who seems eager to talk and LEARN, then they go talk to the senior overseeing doctor and discuss me, then they both come back in to summarize the visit!! The only possible disadvantage is that I have to change interns/students every two years when they graduate!! But I have been pleased with the way the young doctors approached issues and how they were so willing to listen!! Love your suggestion! God bless you and your lovely family!! ❤🤗🙏🙏
Thank you, Dr. Berry! (And you're dangerously close to 3 million subs. Woooot! Your awesome wisdom is spreading.)
Thank you Dr Berry for the links!!! Thank you so very much!!
Thanks Doc, much appreciated..
I wish I had a keto friendly pcp. She's harping on my cholesterol and wanting me to eat grains 😢
Thank you Dr.Berry for sharing with us.
Thank you for putting this list together - this is literally the answer to my prayers.
La Conner Washington, Brianna Wilson, Thrice Direct. She does not follow the life style, but she has been my doctor and I have followed you since the pandemic. When you were low carb I was low carb. When you went carnivore, I followed suit. Dr. Wilson will be a great doctor for any one on this lifestyle.
Thank you for this.... trying like crazy to get my ketovore dad and mom with a better doctor. They are in Marysville. Unfortunately they hardly listen to me and at moment I'm still living in Texas.
I'm a carnivore practicing optometrist in Richland Center WI
This is so awesome! Thank you, Dr. Berry!!!
Thankyou so very much For Berry I'm in New Zealand and have found a Dr not to far away,iv been on the Carnovore way of eating for 4 months with amazing results I'm loving it and you have been a life saver, you are a hero a god and you are not just good you are dam good , Thankyou from the bottom of my healing hart🎉👏💪🐄🐑💞🤗
I saw your interview with Dr Tony Hampton and realized he practices in my area. I really don't go to the Dr, but would go to him.
my doctor fully supports my low carb-keto WOE, in fact he said to keep on doing what I've been doing. Carley Family Care, Kings Mountain NC, I see Dr. Boutammy
good to hear i live in Asheboro , NC . Been thinking of finding new dr. who supports low carb
I will check them out I'm n Gastonia thanks
My doctor who promotes keto/low carb is Doctor Benjamin Stockton in Sandpoint Idaho (Kaniksu Health) Good young doctor, I feel lucky to have found him.
Thank you very much for this updated video, Dr Berry, and also thank you for all you've done for the low carb way of life over the years.
I go to my doctor to get diagnosed. After I get diagnosed, I go home and I look up the medicine that they wanted to put me on, but I refuse to take a look and see what it’s made of and then I look for foods that have those ingredients that make the medicine work. But I normally don’t go to the doctor anymore once a year physical.
Dr Nadir Ali, cardiologist, Webster, TX 👍🏼👍🏼
I've had my eye on him (I live in Cypress!). Since he is a cardiologist, will he see me for just routine labs and care?
@JeJe11 you know, that's a good question, but I'm not really sure to be honest. Your best bet is to call his office and speak to one of his NP's and see if they can give you a good answer before you make that drive!
Best wishes to you. 🙏🏼
I've seen him on a couple of YT videos.
He's the closest to us, but still about 2 hours away.
I like him but his office NEVER returns calls.@@brandihicks5087
Very helpful video!!! Thank you, Dr. Berry.
.. thank you doc!.. for the time you take to make these videos for us and your knowledge!..
Dr Ward Dean Pensacola, FL
Hi i am from Costa Rica and my Nutritionist Dr Donald Vega is Carnivore and promotes the ketogenic diet, he is a genius 🎉❤
Wow so happy for you
Hi, I also live in Costa Rica! Where is Dr. Vega located? Hopefully close! I live in Puriscal . Thanks. Carolina 🙏
I'm trying to become a low carb doc. Diet doctor has been for me a good place to start. Tons of info put in a friendly manner. Thanks Dr Berry!
Thank you
I see a nurse practitioner who is on board with super low carb/ no vegetable seed oil life style! My wife's Dr. proceeded to tell me last week how what I'm doing won't work and started listing all the things that'll happen to me. I replied, when? I've been doing this over 2 years, have lost over 80lbs, feel great, and are off almost all medicines (I have to have a prescription to buy potassium citrate)!
Name? Where?
Thanks!
Great video Ken 👍
Thank you very much dr Berry! There are no such doctors in my area. Sounds like I have "to train" one of my own.
I Love You Doc
Dr. Berry, in one week my creat went from 1.6 to 1.28, my blood sugars are running 30 points below usual, GFR went from 57 to 67. In two weeks, I dropped 15 pounds. I like your style! NO BS Keep up the great work, watched your video on salt today. My potassium was high, I didn't think about the K in the Morton's salt. Got some redmonds and noticed a difference right away with regard to thirst.
Another great video with lots of info. This will help many people
Info for people that live in Texas . Dr Lane Sebring in Wimberly Tx . He’s a believer in the carnivore diet. 😊
Everyone needs to rule out having sleep apnea!!!!
I just started using the machine and now Nothing I eat makes me sleepy and my sugar today was 90!
I ate everything wrong since breakfast and have been up since 3:30 this am and it’s 848 pm and I have had no naps at all.
I've been having very bad insomnia too
Dr. Berry, I was literally just thinking about this…how to find a doctor. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!❤
Thank you!!! ❤
Most Doctors are egotistical, prideful and exceedingly negative. 😂
Having worked for many and being related to many, I can attest to that.
Steelman Medical Group. The Woodlands, TX. Direct Primary Care and Keto/Carnivore friendly.
Thank you so much Dr Berry. Have been wanting to find a keto friendly Doctor in Victoria Australia. 👏👍
I needed this!
I was asked to leave our family doctor's office years ago for asking direct questions as why he was prescribing me drugs for my symptoms and not investigating the root cause of my illness. It turned out a couple of years later that he lost his license for over prescribing opioids to his patients.
