My mom, who would have turned 99 this year, would not take me to the doctor when we had cold symptoms. She said all they want to do is give you an antibiotic and if you take antibiotics for something like a cold then when you really need it for something serious, it won’t work! She also said we needed get over things on our own to build immunity.

Israeli doctors in the 1980s discovered that the rhinovirus dies when heated to 102°. To eliminate a viral sinus infection break out your hair dryer put it under your nose and breathe the warm air for like 5 to 10 minutes as long as you feel it's necessary and do this a couple of times during the day. I have told friends about this and use it on myself and within a few hours maybe 10 hours or less you will notice that your nose clears up, it's not running anymore, that's because the hot air from the hair dryer has killed the virus that's in your nose. The nose is running because the body is trying to flush the virus out. This is real, it always works and that's the truth. Dr Berry is the best but I wanted him to know about this.

What timing! My fever broke at 6:30 this morning, and I feel good after only two days of what seemed sinus-y. Here is what I did: Let my fever do its job; took a couple of very hot, longish showers to loosen things up and help blow and cough it out; used a eucalyptus shower spray; ate very little; drank hot unsweetened elderberry and echinacea teas with lemon; garbled with warm salt water; sucked on zinc lozenges; asked for prayer; and RESTED! Don't know for sure if everything helped, but it didn't hurt🤗

I had infection in my ears, throat and chest and bronchitis. I have never felt so unwell. 2 courses of antibiotics fixed it. I hate taking medication and always prefer natural remedies but in this case I’d had enough of feeling so sick.

I’m sorry, but either you have not experienced it, or prefer not to bring it up for some other reason, but you’ve not mentioned the one thing that has helped life-long (and in 73 years, I’ve had a lot of head colds and sinus infections) and even today.
This time-honored method is the Steam Tent. Find your biggest mixing bowl and a large (but not thick or cumbersome) towel. It must be almost bath sized to cover head and neck. Then you need an old fashioned kettle full of water. Boil the water. If you have no kettle, use a large pot. Pour enough to fill your mixing bowl about 2” short of the rim. Carry the bowl to your kitchen table; the towel should be already spread out on the back of the chair. A second towel set under the bowl would not come amiss.
Make sure any pets or small children are out of the way for 15-20 minutes-scalding water is potentially risky! By “out of the way”, I mean baby in crib, toddler in play pen, dogs or other pets in another room, ideally another adult to supervise.
Pull the towel over your head. Center your face over the water. Tuck towel under chin so neck skin won’t get too hot. Now this is important: hold the towel open a little at first, to let in some cooler air, until you get used to breathing steam. It will be hot, maybe even painful to breathe at first. Breathe in through your nose, and back out also through your nose. Alternate with breathing in through open mouth, deep into chest. As air cools down, close the towel and breathe the steamy air slowly and deeply in and out. It’s peaceful-like a meditation.
After 15 minutes you will have the most benefit and can stop. Push your damp hair away from your face, dry your face with the towel. Your eyelids will probably be a little red and tender. This will pass. Carefully get up, steady yourself, and dump the still-very-hot water in the sink. Phew!
The steam shrinks swollen nasal passages. You might need to blow your nose a lot afterwards, or even during. It should help a lot with clearing your head. If one side is stopped up, breathe through the side that works. Very good to do in the morning if your sinuses are aching. Also very good before bed. It can stimulate a real cleanout, so have plenty of tissues handy.
My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother used it on me at a VERY young age. It was frightening. But once a child is old and self-controlled enough to cooperate, it can be used on children, but only under strict supervision, and only for 5-10 minutes.
One of the most soothing and comforting things to do in case of sickness. NOT FOR CHAOTIC HOUSEHOLDS. In must be done very controlled.
Set a timer for 15-20 minutes. Sit down and pull your chair close.
In December 2023, I had Covid for the first time. My doctor prescribed a lot of medications but I never took them. It manifested first as a sore throat, then a severe sinus infection-symptoms lasted 2 weeks. In that time I used the steam tent 8 times, and that’s what ultimately defeated the sinus infection. I should have done it every day but I was just so weak and exhausted. It was really enough.

I used to have chronic sinus infections. Two a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Turned out I was living in a house with a mold problem. Even after moving out I was still getting them. Began using Afrin and sinus irrigation with warm salt water using a big syringe. Stopped having sinus infections but I became dependent on the Afrin for years. Finally kicked my addiction to that and now haven't had a sinus infection for about 10 years. The key for me seemed to be keeping the the sinuses open and cleaned out. Just be careful how you do it.

Amen … my go to as well. Unfortunately, I am very prone to bacterial sinus infections but the oil of oregano drops as well as nasal spray plus olive leaf are all antiviral/antibiotic/ as well as anti fungal. Sometimes they fully take care of my frequent sinus infections by themselves. If I still develop a full blown bacterial infection, they continue helping and I continue taking them along with antibiotic. But having taken SO many antibiotics, my gut microbiome has been severely compromised. I always try my very best to avoid the antibiotics because of my severe reactions to the antibiotics if at all possible!

Don't over exert yourself and you will lose a lot of water to mucus and whatever else your body does and my heart was working harder too so absolutely get some electrolytes; this helped a lot. Some sunlight and nice music or anything you can do to be as stress free as possible makes it more bearable and mind your posture because you'll notice it get harder to breathe with bad posture. Took me 4 days to get rid of it before a fever put the final nail in the coffin and spent a whole day spitting and blowing out mucus after it went away so I can suggest to continue to stay hydrated for a couple days after as well. Great video Dr. Ken Berry.

Funny you put this out when I'm dealing with sinus or what I thought was an infection. I've had bad ones over the years but not for a while now. I've hardly suffered from anything since going keto. But a week ago woke to intense pain in my sinus on the right side. Just as it has always been. Thing was there wasn't the swelling or nasal blockage as usual.
What I found was a muscle or nerve starting at the base of my neck and running up to the base of my skull on the right side very tight and very sore. It continued around the side above my ear to my temple where is was intensely sore there as well. A hot shower and plenty of massaging finally eased the pain. Continued care given to my neck in the form of taking it easy and taking care how I have slept on it has almost gotten it straightened out.
Pretty crazy. Absolutely the exact symptoms and pain of an infection but wasn't at all.
Thank you Lord for helping me figure that one out!

My first sign of a sinus infection is a sore throat, then the sinus congestion and pain. I immediately take olive leaf extract and colloidal silver in a little orange juice 2-3 times a day, and it's gone within 2 days. Must use high quality colloidal silver, at least 500ppm. I know lots of people that get fungal sinus issues. We gargle with anti fungal essential oils and make sprays they work immediately. I fully agree on the antifungals. We have used them before and they were immediately as well like by the end of the day to the next day your symptoms are cut in half

    • @DrAJ_LatinAmerica
      @DrAJ_LatinAmerica 5 місяців тому

@@treasuresabound0062 very easy, collect a fresh sample, (mucus sample) send it to a laboratory where it is examined for signs of fungi. Or if your doctor is in a hospital with a good microscope, take a look. There are also tests that take 48 hours to look for growth of the infection. With all viral and bacterial infections a simple test should be performed. Personally I don't agree 95% are viral. Many cases of strep throat (bacterial), then expand into a bacterial sinus infection. Herpes type infections (viral) of the mouth or throat lead to sinus infections which need to be treated with antiviral medications. Even an infected tooth, gums (very common), can lead to a sinus infection, which requires antibiotics.

I make a powder snuff out of cayenne, Golden seal, and Barberry and just a minute few grains in the end of a swap snorted up the nose and it is instant relief from the headache, and begins to greatly help with nasal airflow. Yes it is quite intense but it goes away quickly and gets easier to adjust the amount up a little or down so you aren't quite so surprised when you use it a second time. The cayenne is a dialator and Antihistamine, the Barberry acts as an anti-viral and the golden seal is a neutralizer of toxins. If you have a sinus headache Just a few grains in the end of a swab the size of 2 or 3 periods from an ink pen will instantly give relief. Repeat as needed to give you the relief sought for. I also use it when I feel the first symptoms of a virus colonizing on the back of my palate and and sinus. If you can catch it early you can mitigate the progression the infection to an appreciable degree.

Not until I began to work in a daycare setting did I ever get a sinus infection. I thought at first it was my allergies. Then I thought it was a cold. 9 MONTHS later I was so sick. I tasted it, smelled it and was so exhausted. So sick. Copious amounts of mucus was created and I could never clear it. It was a child’s father that told me I had an infection. Went to the dr and started antibiotics. 5 days later I was all better. Never found out what was the exact cause (virus? Bacteria?) I had an inkling as to what it was: the air in the center. The air was circulated from room to room. The ducts were never cleaned the whole time I worked there. I had several infections while I worked there (10 years) and since I left I haven’t had one and never want another one. It was horrible.

In the Military (when I was younger and prettier) the usual treatment for us was sticking our faces into a bowl of warm salt water and sucking through the nostrils, then spitting out the junk that came out. It loosened all of the mucus and sinus whatevers, and did it a few times. You can then blow your nose and get cleared up for a few hours of relief. A warm shower also helped--its like it melted all of that stuff out of there. This was before Dr. Oz and Oprah introduced us to the Neti pot. Just did it the 10 days or so before Christmas when I caught one.

How much salt-to-water ratio did you use? And how many times a day?
