  • MVP's Black Hole Pro HD is one of the best catching practice baskets on the market. Version 2 of the basket has seen quite a few improvements over the previous version. This video goes over these improvements, ease of setup and its disc catching capabilities.

That was the goal. This review is about the basket itself, not our putting ability lol.

Is the only difference between the "pro" version and the "macro" and the "mini" the total height? Or are the baskets and top rings smaller also?

Great review! I have a super cheap Halex basket which has lived outside for at least 8 or 10 years now and it's seen better days....however, I did notice the Black Hole wobbling quite a bit. Did you have any issues with stability?
The Halex basket I have uses 4 huge, folding legs and is supremely stable (the only thing it does well, tbh -- it came with plastic chains originally!)

superdriver777 do you have the black hole or the black hole HD? On flat ground, I have not had any issues with wobble. With any basket on uneven ground, there could be wobble due to that, but as long as each section of the threaded bolts are tightened all the way, I haven’t had any issues. To insure tightness, in addition to just twisting the pole or top piece, I’ll rotate the cage/chain band to make sure it is twisted all the way right as well (clockwise). P

@@TKDiscGolf TK, sorry my comment was unclear! I have a Halex disc golf hole, and besides the ultra-stable legs, it sucks (even with the metal chains I installed).
I meant that in your video, I noticed some wobble with the Black Hole you were testing, and that's what I was asking about. I meant wobble coming from the fact that the base is not much wider than the basket (which is understandable, given that the hole is designed to be portable!) but it seems I may have just misinterpreted what I saw.
I came away from your video quite impressed with the product, and strongly considering buying it. Great job to you for presenting it so well, and for replying to my comment, and great job to MVP for their excellent basket design!

superdriver777 ah I see, I believe when we did the video we were on a slight slope and we didn’t muscle the poles tight since we had to take it apart again once we were don’t recording. Flat ground is the main thing, since like you saw, the base is about the same diameter as the cage. Hope this answers your question!
