Dunki is a type of movie that can be watched later at home on TV with your family and still enjoy it. But Salaar is a true cinematic experience 😊 I got adrenaline rush throughout the movie. Didn't know 3 hours had passed already. Go to the theaters, you won't regret it..

The First Half was boring from pre interval to interval the movie peaked
But the second half was great 🔥🔥
If the movie only concenetrated on Khansaar dynamics it may reached the KGF level
Finally its a comeback for Prabhas

    • @thisisbimal

First half they focused on present. Second half was about Khansaar. The first half part before interval where Prabhas's seal tattoo is revealed was another level. War was about to start between Vardaraja and Deva, but they went on to tell the Khansaar history. Overall it seems like only 20% of the movie is covered. They could make a series with this. Part 2 will have a lot of story to tell.

In most movies, the first 20 mins will have a hero fight. Here, they tried to present more story and the character of Deva doesn’t require any fight. So many have felt the first half to be boring but it is setting up the premise

When most critics bashed Animal blindly without talking about technical aspects, Bharadwaj Rangan is the only critic who analysed Animal logically and made points with logic while others critics merely said "misogynist movie, bad influence" , and other BS without analysing the movie logically. Thats what makes Baradwaj Rangan the best critic in India. BR is one of the rare critic that Sandeep Reddy vanga praises even though he hates critics.

Salaar have more heart than KGF. The story telling, the detailing, the world building in Salaar is one of a kind and can only be surpassed by S.S. Rajamouli films. The feel of modern mythical warfare is very tough to pull it off in which Salaar did wonders. There was no unnecessary elevation or build-up that exists in most indian action movies. Salaar is a treat to watch.

I think Salaar has resolved a lot of issues that Neel had with KGF series. Wat I loved abt Salaar that I missed with KGF series was the thoughts & thinking that goes into the movie after exiting the theatres. I am still thinking of Khansaar & relationships of those characters. Salaar goes more Epic than KGF which is clear with its BGM approach which has more intention & quality behind it than just using it to hype. One thing I was very surprised of, though knowing it before was that I thought Prithviraj wuld be the one I wuld carry with me as a performer but Prabhas's presence is so damn huge that his eyes say a million things and he's complete contrary to Rocky who talks a lot. Prabhas & his Aura was all over the screen that I witnessed before with Bahubali series. My favourite scene was Kaali ma fight & with all honesty my heart was beating so rapidly in a packed theatre. An Action film that tries to do more than with its characters & Drama. 🙌

Raju Hirani is the main reason for the downfall of Dunki. And not SRK. Dunki felt repetitive with very old style camerawork that's not captivating. The comedy felt forced. The first half felt boring most of the time and the intense parts in the second half didn't land quite well.
Edit: And the biggest blunder of Raju Hirani is releasing Dunki as a Hindi language Film rather than a pan Indian film especially against a strong competitor like Salaar. Maybe Raju Hirani felt arrogant that people will watch his movies anyway and he didn't feel the need to accomodate the trend of pan Indian films.

@@shashiaaravpatel8928 Indeed. You, and abishek gave a logical analysis of the movie/preference without throwing blind comments without substance. The hypocrisy of people you mention comes from the point of dishonesty and blind star worship. A star worshipper will basch B star's movie blindly if their movie clashed. And if we tend to ask those people the reason why they dislike the film...you get silence. Only through logical criticism we can improve the standards of Indian cinema rapidly. It's also interesting to not that most criticism in KGF resulted in lack of drama and story. While those elements are present excessively in Salaar, people don't seem to identify it. If we fail to appreciate the positives of a movie and fail to point out the actual issues of the movie, then we end up getting cheap low quality films.

First half - filler ( the same story could have been said in 15 mins)
Second half - too much of history lesson.
    Unnecessary inorganic build up scenes.
Postives- Prabhas looks so much better than his last three movies. His screen presence is too good.
Few scenes are really well written.
    Cinematography and background score.
Like BR Sir said, they should have axed out aadhyas portion and took us more into Khansaar!
    Overall once watchable film.

Being a Prabhas fan, genuinely saying SALAAR is not good. Fights are involved with too much build-ups and not able to accept it even though it's a drama. The actors are good but the making is not good. Collection wise it's a blockbuster but as a fan I must agree that the movie is not up to the mark. Hope SALAAR 2 will be a full treat for our Prabhas fans. 😎

As per me, many scenes were illogical, like fighting the right fights?: here prabhas mother asks him go fight for shruti Hassan whom she clearly didn't like or nothing shown about prabhas having feelings for her unlike ugramm….and climax fight is such a joke!
Felt if neel just managed to copy paste few iconic scenes and dialogues from ugramm this would have been a masterpiece given the scale.

Sad that Mr. Baddy didn't utter a word about a major shortcoming of the movie. For all the buildup scenes the movie has, there is no supporting masterclass action sequence or emotions stating why he's the most violent, mad man in the Khansaar. Just for comparison sake, in KGF, for all the buildup for the man Rocky, the scenes were justified with his high octane actions and a strong mother-son emotion was used as weapon. Here it was missing, which was evident in just showing those imaginary visions of his violence.

The mad man will be revealed in part-2, that is why most people are waiting for part-2.
If neel catches it, it will cross 1000crs for sure.
But a scene in childhood should give a glimpse of mad man.

Because second half was well crafted it could have worked totally without the first half, there was so much detail in making the history and tribal world come to life totally appreciate the director for it. The sets were amazing and cinematography gave classy look.

I have to completely agree with BR sir here.....with due respect to Shruthi Hassan, i actually felt that her character is unnecessary especially in the 2nd half where she initiates many cut scenes because she gets confused. That disturbs the natural flow of the story in the viewers mind. I do hope that she has a notifiable screen presence in part 2 otherwise she will also be one of those unwanted heroine characters taking up space for otherwise good story

I disagree with Bharadwaj on this one. I did not enjoy the film. The movie spent too much time on hyping up the characters and less time actually showing them do something. The action scenes were also underwhelming. Even though they wanted to build up the world of Khansaar it ended up being too much of exposition and exhausting to watch after a point.

The only thing I hated was Shruthi Hassan. It is hard to fathom that this lady is Kamal Hassan's daughter. The fact that Prashant Neel okayed some of her takes makes me question his direction (Oh my god, that fake accent!). Prithviraj brings the must necessarily gravitas and acting chops to this film, which otherwise would've been just reduced to Prabhas chopping thousands with the same expression. The set pieces are top notch, but the loud BGM was a huge letdown. The music director failed in using silences to drive up the tension and in executing the timing when to ramp up the score. On the plus point, Prabhas physique and presence, and Prashant Neel's action set peices especially in the 2nd half carries this film.

Look at Animal , look at Salaar , KGF , pushpa, Bahubali. All these movies are not real world movies . People want movies that can be experienced in theaters and not in TV’s . And such movies will be far from real world . This trend will continue for couple more years at the least .

Prabhas, Prashant and Ravi Basrur have nailed it! Prabhas is the real Dinosaur of Indian Cinema!
I had low expectations from Prashant Neel because the KGF series was not upto the mark wrt the story! But, Prashant has corrected his mistake this time and has created the perfect MASS BLOCKBUSTER for a hero of Prabhas' stature! Ravi Basrur's BGM just elevated every fight scene, especially the BGM when the audience is anticipating Prabhas' transformation from a silent man to a violent man is exhilarating!
Zillion times better than Animal which was more of a soft porn and brainless violence although it is criminal to compare Salaar with Animal. But it was disgusting to watch Animal for the above mentioned reasons and Salaar wiped that feeling out completely!!

People are actually fed up and saturated with the repeated watching of the dark black muscline bloody over the top larger than life fictional lifeless tales of supermen, being told again and again with almost same predictable story arcs and repeates plot points. Genuine reviewers with love for indian cinema should actually sense this deeper reluctance of audience and they should share this insight in the form of their reviewers rather than trying to help the film studios to sell their products and make money.
Genuine reviewers should stay with audience and cinema and not be the sidekicks of huge studios stars and capital...
