@@xdfckt2564 While residing in Canada and currently living in Europe, I have not personally witnessed or heard of any harassment from LTTE. Furthermore, Tamil people have notably received more benefits from them overseas. However, I made a comment on a video suggesting that Vallipuram Vasanthan's story could be turned into a movie. This may not be the appropriate platform to discuss what you mentioned.
First half is literally a well crafted Masterpiece and Second half is okay ❤
Rushed storytelling meant a lack of character definition. So the emotional scenes that must have hit hard didn't carry through with the audience..second half was just a bloodbath with a predictable finish, and the audience was no longer engaged in the story.
Most of them are saying the movie to be slow and I dont think there's any point in saying this as rushed storytelling. And even if the finish is predictable all I could see is people enjoying that visual treat. Need a good heart to appreciate the efforts and good cinema that's it.
@@caleb8825 The movie was long and the action scenes at the end were dragging yes, but the screenplay was never slow. It jumps quickly from one point in eesan's life to another without letting the audience fully feel the emotional journey he is on. In the process we never get to know what he is thinking and what he is driving towards. It's a decent film, not bad or great either.

I liked the movie and it worked for me. It might not work for some audience fr. But still we should appreciate the efforts and hardwork done by the whole crew. Dhanush acting is just mind blowing. Tbh dhanush >>>> any other present gen actors
Why would it not work for some audience?
The movie is slow paced and have less character depth. It has some violent scenes even though the director tried to restrict himself. Everyone would not like these kinda films.

BR could have mentioned the pre interval chase sequence which was very well executed.
The movie is technically so good compared to many movies that were marketed as 'Pan Indian' action movies. This has solid performances from the whole cast with exceptional bgm by GVP. Cinematography is top-notch. Practical effects went very well with VFX and no scenes felt bad. I also didn't find anything cringe which I do in most recent movies. This is the movie which gave me total satisfaction in theatre recently. I watched this because I liked the director's previous works and I must say he has handled this gigantic scale neatly. Really looking forward to his upcoming projects.
The movie was very practical. Though the technical aspects of the interval chase were excellent, i did feel there was plot armour for dhanush there. So many bullets fired and none fell on him, even though he was not under cover. But, loved the movie throughout. Its rare in India that such a grounded action movie comes out.

This film worked very well for me. Being an ignorant of caste politics happening all around me for hundreds of years, this movie showed me so many sides of caste system and very well communicated with me. I feel this movie made justification to all the oppressed which I'm pretty sure some of the so called "higher" caste people cannot accept this movie. I judge BRs perspective in this very well crafted with deeply routed story and emotionally stirring music. I don't expect much from a movie other than all this. Despite his view,I am really glad this movie is made and I enjoyed so much through out the movie. I appreciate the team whole heartedly and expecting next movie from Arun Mathesawaran..❤
Just competed first half this is my kinda movie literally liked it to the core no unwanted things just straight to the points man arun hats off eager to watch second half

I have noticed some connections between captain Miller & Rocky movies.(Eagle weapon box,danush going to cyclone, Rocky mother is from srilanka, captain miller vliamx shot match with rocky oprning shot) ,May be Rocky would be the sequel of captain miller & this woukd be Arun matheshwarans cinematic univers
Not seen Miller yet, but didn’t Pulp Fiction also hit us on the head with no time to breathe? It took me 3 watches to understand the character arcs.

Watched the movie 2nd time on Amazon and actually it's a good movie, dialogues are well written and good cinematography. All the actors including the western actors acted well in the film.

Arun mathesawaran feels as if he is Tarantino of india. But fails miserably. Just for playing with guns and violence, without any strong story he has done this one. Danush has given himself but in vain. Thank God it won't have part 2

Well put,, ditto, felt exactly the same. The movie didn’t evoke any emotion at all, but the theoretical acting was ok,,, looks like this movie was made for the bgm, rather than the bgm for the movie.

Captain Miller didn't work for me. Just like he said. Only some scenes are good. Ending is good tho. Just because of these few factors, we can confirm it's a pure cinema. Just normal people getting hyped all along. They just shouting for every scene when gun appears 😂. Nothing much.

This movie could've shot as an A rated movie. The second half lose it's momentum as the fight sequence doesn't gave much feel. Overall a one time watchable experience for the artwork, making, bgm and dhanush performance.
I think the gore would release on OTT as director's cut.
That well expected
Parallels can be drawn with this movie and double x. In double x the climax just binds the whole movie and the entire theater felt the emotion of the tribe. Here in this movie there's literally no connect when the redemption is felt for the tribe. The audience is left with the tiredness of the endless gun battle.
Gvp's score is Hollywood worthy and definitely lifts the movie like no other. With the exception of a couple of greatly set up scenes (opening scene and the scene were 700 sepoys enter the village) the rest of the movie was a drag and connect less sequence of action scenes with no payoff
Why Kollywood guys don’t promote film in Rest of India where huge population hit the theatres during any new movie release. I was shocked to hear that in other part of India, occupancies are just 2to3%,Guys wake up and move towards where there is demand and opportunity available.#GuysGoGrabit.

@@manojlds they can easily recover that money in North market if they did any promotion , Dhanush, Rajnikant, Joseph Vijay ,Ajit and Vikram r familiar name in North market so if they do then their amount is easily recovered..
Just look at the Saalar team they hardly did any kind of promotion in northern belt, still manage to earn 150cr+ despite being clash with SRK's Dunki that coz of prabhash name and his goodwill.
The execution didn't work and exactly as BR said, not the technical part. The narrative fell completely flat post the military episode. I felt the writer - director couldn't just make us care about the battle the hero's going through. Nothing was established enough to care. And the second half firing sequences just were too long without any definite consequences.
I liked the idea of the reverse revelation of a "chosen one", but only as an idea.
At 03:12, I believe it should be "Snake in the Eagles shadow". Maybe

The shaky camera was absolutely nauseating . You seem to have liked them as you use the phrase "cool shots". Shaky footage mix not only wide/standard lenses with wide apertures and drones, but tele-lenses as well. You have gotta be kidding! On the music, GV was so comfortable copying the Sicario theme liberally; he also seems to have been happy adapting the famous Gladiator's song. I am sorry but I felt that this is one of the poorly shot movies I have seen in a while!

The film sadly didn’t work for me as there was loss of depth in the emotions, the props, vehicles and weapons were very unrealistic.
Honest review. I was 20 minutes late still felt the movie was too long. Cinematography and BGM are at its best. But somehow the movie is not cohesive. The climax twist and post climax looked forced and not engaging. Though a love triangle was hinted it was not explored much. Worth watch just for the action and set pieces.
Way better than Salaar though :D
Baddy is like that one teacher who grades students with great potential hard so they strive better. Arun Matheswaran is definitely a good prospect to Tamil and Indian cinema!

Bored to the core. Load of garbage. Only good thing is tht Dhanush was amazing as usual....but the storytelling was ridiculously slow and draggy...
Captain Miller is beautiful shot but the story is meh. Didnt workout !!! No Issues in film being being lengthy but the story should require it. This looks very forced. Casting , Music is good. But Overall as a Film this is very very average.

Deliberately maintaining a slow pace to enjoy every shot. Not following the classic formula of love, song and unwanted comedy scenes. To not commercialize the film and to leave it raw. Is it enough?
