I pour my mod podge into condiment squirt bottles with a tiny piece of plastic wrap over the tip. I love the control I have using it this way and never a stuck top.
I use Vaseline on my chalk paints too as some have shared and it keeps the flakes out of the paint that fall into the jar. I also use plastic wrap on my shampoo, conditioner, lotions and then screwing the tops back on when flying on trips. It keeps them from exploding and making a big gooey, wet mess. Not a craft tip but this video reminded me so I thought I’d share 🤷♀️
I have always used the parchment paper. Nothing sticks to that stuff! Parchment paper makes a great mixing base for paints & epoxy glue too. I put duct tape on parchment paper so I can cut it out easier. I also put double stick carpet tape on parchment to cut into smaller strips. Then use the smaller strips for cards etc. I use more parchment paper in my craft room than my kitchen! Love your videos! Thank you for ALL your videos!
I decant my chalk paint into glass Kilner/Mason jars with the metal split lid and I use a piece of cling film then screw on the lid . Works like a dream and easy to see your colours as well
I really dislike the plastic containers with the plastic screw on lids…seems that the chalk paint acts like a cement glue. I saw a tip in another video to whack it on the floor…tried it : lid busted and paint went everywhere and it looked like I took a bath in it- I have long hair took me an hour just to wash myself up and another two hours to clean up the paint from the floor, walls and ceiling-I stopped buying chalk paint because of how difficult it was to get those lids off. I have severe arthritis in my hands and wrists, so it just took the enjoyment out of the project between trying to open the color I needed and the pain it would cause me trying to twist open those lids with all my might. After painting a couple hours I just want to close stuff up and be done. I think they should sell the chalk paint in regular paint cans…for now I will try some of the other tips that where suggested on your thread. Love this channel.
And if you add Elmers glue all to your modge it will never dry sticky. It will be powder dry forever. I use about 1 part Elmers glue all to about 5 parts Mod Podge. It's not exact, you can tweak it. It works. Found this by being too lazy to clean out my small glue jar and just putting mod podge in it. Eureka!
I wonder what makes Mod Podge get sticky after drying.🤔🧐 I used to use it years ago and never had a problem. Now, it is tacky a lot of times. I honestly never gave it any serious thought. I am wondering now if it's humidity. 🤔 😕 🙃 I used to live in the north but now live down south. I will give your tip a try because I stopped using it because I was ruining so many projects. Thanks!
Thank you so much, with RA in fingers and weak sometimes I cant craft LOL Now I can and lovely your followers share and care. Great like minded people.
I add a little dribble of hot water to modge podge when it gets too thick when I haven’t used in in 6 months and it’s never messed up any projects but I will definitely try baggie to lid.
Hi there..I use Vaseline too..also if you use super glue or gorilla glue any type that could possibly get glued together..it does the trick too..chalk paint too..lol..it is right up there with the many uses for white vinegar..lol.. Take care
Never thought of the Vaseline idea, but I just recently started to wipe down the rim and place a piece of plastic wrap over the top. Game changer for sure. Thanks for the tips.
I use a plastic sandwich baggie. Use those over a lot of my open refrigerator dishes, place a rubber band around it. Especially like it for my evaporated milk can that has two openings .
Never thought of the Vaseline but I’ve always use a small plastic bag or I use press n seal. I do this on al my paints that are in jars even cans. ♥️😊👍
I used Vaseline on the tips of my colored pencils for a nice smooth look. Chapstick when I didn't have the vaseline. But my best Vaseline tip is to gently rub some on fresh bruises, it makes them fade faster.
Never thought about using parchment paper. I always have it in hand. I keep forgetting to buy vaseline! What i've been using lately is Vicks Vapor rub😂
I thought you were going to say that you put a rubber band around the container, top to bottom, to drag the glue filled brush across instead of the lip of the container. Ive seen that done with paint cans.🤷♀️
I have to correct what I told you,I meant to say chapstick, also called lip balm.but thinking about it , lip gloss tube woud be great too.no messy fingers.Lol
thx for making this great tip! ♥☻☺even better if you started your video @ 2:51 since most of us like quicker tips = more time to craft = less time searching for answers :) Have a great day♥☻☺ cheers

Works on your E6000 tip also! TFS
Yes going to be doing that! Thanks for watching Anita
Yes, this works! Add Vaseline to tip of hot glue gun before heating and it keeps strings away! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Is it True!!?? I have to try on my glue gun! 😲😅👏
Oh I know those strings are crazy.
No way!!!! I am going to have to try that!! Thanks for sharing Charlene
Ditto! A woman at Michael's told me to try it. No more strings M'lady!

Thanks for watching Jill! Yes fantastic idea
I repurpose cellophane cereal bags instead of using new material to cover the mouth of the jars under the lid....very little trouble opening.
Oh great idea!!! Thanks for sharing
I found a vaseline "chap stick" at the dollar store and use that around my glue containers. Also works really well on the Waverly chalk paint bottles!
Great tips! Thanks for watching Mary
This is also the case with chalk paints. A good clean seal keeps it from drying out too fast.
Yes I am def going to be doing that! Thanks for watching Heather
Of course! Thank you for your beautiful channel! ❤❤

What do you mean by powder dry?
@@betsyulbrich7362 , not sticky at all. Smooth as dry paper.

@@MissDickens I live in Iowa and it does it to me also. I am going to try her trick.

Cling wrap works as well. I've been using this method for years. Hi from Australia 💞

I use the plastic wrap. I put it on all my paints and mod podge. It makes a tighter seal and keeps things from drying out. Thanks Deidre

Good tip reminder! Blessed and safe days!

Vaseline also works great on the tip of your e6000.
Yes!!! thats almost as bad as the mod podge!! Def doing it on all now
Great tip on Vaseline as my E6000 cap always sticks fast even though I clean the tip with alcohol after every use.
Press and seal also works well. For chalk paint also. It sticks to rim well.
