pappsy7 Me too. I have severe tinnitus that literally drives me insane. I put these on to help distract from it and to sleep to at night (plus my white noise.) These hilariously inane ramblings are great to listen to when you’re low. I’ve heard some twice and they still make me laugh! Imagine people listening to them in 50 or even 100 years time 😂
The three of them have perfect chemistry together. Without doubt, the best trio ever to have been on radio in the UK.

4:26 that's the only genuine laugh i've heard from Karl. Heard him chuckle and snicker but never a proper giggle like that.
Yeah, he usually has a quiet wheeze. I've seen a couple of interviews where he laughs with a breathy almost-noise but that was definitely the loudest.

@@visitor5230 yeah, its another word for laugh. Roughly it kind of means "to give a suppressed slightly scornful, quiet laugh". Another variation is "snigger". May only be used here in the UK, though.

Steve Merchant's laugh gets me everytime
Listening to these in Lockdown. Aching with Laughter. The boy walking around the house with a horse. The daughter had stolen the horse and this was on a housing estate in Manchester where Karl grew up. There were also people with webbed hands and feet on the estate. Absolute genius. Ricky and Stephen are fantastic with him. Ricky's laugh is to die for. Keep safe everyone.
I'm the same only came across them last week and I haven't belly laughed as much in ages which is just what I needed and believe it or not helps me get to sleep at night ha ha ha x

FANE BABANU in the early shows Karl wasn't mic'd properly as he was just the producer. When Ricky and Steve realised the show was more about Karl than them, they got him EQd and a proper mic

I'm about 8 years younger than Karl and I desperately wanted a musical keyboard. I had ambitions on being the next New Order, too. Unlike both you and KP, I got one. I was proper made up, so excited, best day ever, fucking loved it and didn't put it down for a whole day! Then, I never touched it again! Ever. My mum was gutted.

It's actually very hard to secure a conviction of libel, it is not enough to prove that someone has said something libellous about you, you also have to be able to provide unequivocal evidence that the libellous comments have caused harm to your reputation.

I love that Steve thinks that reciting a memorized poem at lightening speed shows that he learned something in school; when presumingly the teacher explained that while reading poetry aloud one should recite the poem in the way the poet wrote it using one of the types of poetry he or she utilized while writing the piece. A part from the beat poets, who were known to write freestyle.

I like Ricky and Steve, but did they have a normal childhood? They find some very common childhood experiences unusual. I feel a bit sorry for them. They don't seem to have experienced a very carefree childhood, especially Steve.
André Castillo Ricky was a lot younger than his siblings; what seemed normal for him, amusing himself while they do stuff 15 years more advanced, instead of hanging out with kids his own age, might be part of what you're getting at. Steve I imagine simply chose not to do what Karl did; e.g. Karl would be "out on his bike for hours", prompting Steve to ask "where were you going, round and round in circles?". One could argue being an intellectual kid means you don't do much
