oh my god blondie is the band, debbie harry is the woman. she fought to have the band be more than her name, dont drag it through the mud. other than that, great episode!
Dean Williams punk turned more glam in the 80s whereas punk began in the late 60s and continued through the 70s punk was used to describe garage bands and their styles :)
1.the wigs all suck 2. roles skating was a pass time not a fashion statement 3. there always appears to be one piece of clothing too many like that shawl or the jacket with the pants suit. 4. that glam rock thing is weird. 70s fashion was pretty relaxed. I was between the ages of 14 and 24 at the time.
Roller skates *were* a fashion statement for middle schoolers in 1978-1979. There were sneakers that had pop-out wheels. You’d have had to be in middle school at the time.
I lived in the seventies and that suit was hideous. And David Bowie was my first concert ever and he always had more tasteful makeup than that. See cover of Pin ups.
Absolutely LOVE the stylist's hair and look! And all those looks were so iconic, but the last one was a bit over the top. And _Debbie Harry_ wore the jumpsuit. Blondie is the name of the entire group, LOL.
i feel like this is an off brand version of safiya nygaard's videos. she actually tries out the outfits she creates by going in public about her day and also has like more respect for the decades. is that just me?
Please take notice of her disclaimers and disclosures before everybody criticizes. Atlease she clarifies whatever she can or can't do. In short, atlease she's being true to herself than saying and pretending that she knows everything.
I never wore platforms and that polyester double-knit suit was awful. But bell-bottom jeans, bohemian style peasant blouses with gathered tiered skirts, and disco wear were all fun to wear. Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon and David Bowie...they were great.
@@cheyennehannigan8271 although, I found the "art" on the canvass pretty clever, and I think it could actually be exhibited and sold as am artistic statement.
Sorry to add another pedantic comment about Debby Harry, but yeah-Blondie is the band and Debbie Harry is the singer. Her being blond seemed to confuse people, but she was adamant about the difference and still is today. But the clothes were fun. I grew up in the 1970s, and the look I remember most was that Cybil Shepard curly wave-which most women achieved with a perm, foam rollers worn overnight, and these crazy curling irons that had a steam feature (like a clothes iron) that could really fry your hair. The jumpsuit was fun, but I remember a lot of chiffon being the go-to option for dancing; I think that’s what the girls all wear in Saturday Night Fever, with rabbit fur coats and platform sandals.
So far, the 50s is the best vid she did. This one was emotionless and the most fake. The 80s looked fun with more naturality to the hair and emotion into the makeup and authenticity in the outfits. This one looked like a guide to Halloween 2019
Why is she so confused that shoes were made out of wood? What else are shoes made of these days? ???? Like, a stiletto will be made of metal.... Almost any other heel, even very short ones, are made of wood. ??????
I haven't known this video that i've been wishing for has been uploaded during my birthday 😮 I could say this is the greatest gift for me even i've just watched it this time 💖 Thank you Glamour for making my wish come true 😊
The bohemian look is the best and the makeup!! The clogs have to go!! I was a teenager in the 70’s and you’d fit in perfectly!! Oh, get those jeans!!! All of it (except the glam-no!) took me back to my teenage years!! Good on ya!!!
woow what a discoqueen I love 70 s fashion! But I was born a bit to late to experiment with it. (born in 1974) Please put all the outfits in my closet For shure the Boho look and I still love cloggs This was grate fun!
Ha ha I really enjoy watching Stef in all her Iconic looks she try's on. Love her personality. I'm also a 90's kid and I think that's probably why I can relate to some of the things she does and says😄👍
Yeah, agree with the other posters that the wigs are horrible. That doesn't look like Farrah's hairstyle at all. I had to wear too many of those polyester suits (it was ALL we could get in the stores then) so I preferred my jeans, tshirts, or a peasant style maxi.
I said that on another comment, there are no wings on the Farrah's style at all. They missed the most common look of the time, too, for summer - the terrycloth romper. That thing was everywhere in the summer, and the too tight and short shorts with the baseball tshirt and no bra.
What era or celebrity do you think Stef should try out next?
1920s
Glamour 80’s! 😎
64
Im 64
1940's
Why are the wigs so bad tho..... ??
They are really bad... :(
I liked the 1st one tho
SO bad. This is like Season 1 Daenerys bad.
@@vivigabagat3676 The first literally looked nothing like Farah's hair though, no wings at all.
@@jd-no7rw i know but i didn't say it looked similar to Farah's 😅
This really brought me back to high school. I spent HOURS skating in Southern California at the beach. Great memories
this was super nice to read ✨ thanks for sharing
This is very nice xD
oh my god blondie is the band, debbie harry is the woman. she fought to have the band be more than her name, dont drag it through the mud.
other than that, great episode!
Courtney Hurdle 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
It’s our history for women and for rock n roll. Thank you for pointing that out 🙌🏻
Blondie Is A Group!
I cringed every time she said “Blondie wore this” like no the whole band Blondie did wear that jumpsuit. Debbie Harry did.
Thank you for saying this!!
I do love this historian. Give her a series. I'm liking just because she clearly really enjoyed what she was talking about.
sweatpantsprincess I love her worn outfits more than the outfits she put together!
No punk? :((( it was such a massive piece of culture for both the uk and the us they did glam rock which was mainly celebs but no punk?
Well, while punk has taken off in the late 70s, it _is_ more associated with the subsequent decade.
Dean Williams punk turned more glam in the 80s whereas punk began in the late 60s and continued through the 70s punk was used to describe garage bands and their styles :)
@@fahrinurlaub01vg I think it's more associated with the 70s, at least in England
I came for punk

I love David Bowie. It is so cool that you saw him live! Unfortunately I was too late to see him. David Bowie would not be proud with that makeup.
I loved the catsuit I'd Ware it today
Wear

julian yep
Meh? Nah
She slept in pinned up curls in a bonnet and the nightgown for the 1950s one.
I was thinking of Safiya throughout this video
I agree!!
It really bothers me that they aren't doing each decade in chronological order...
The Bowie one made me gag and not in a good way
BIG yikes
the concept is perfect but this girl is really boring has no emotion or connection to what she is soing
Not true whatsoever. She clearly has a reaction for every look.
Ikr. She just sits there getting glammed up into different decades without any knowledge or connection to anything of the decade.
Not true.
True! Shes so cold
Please take notice of her disclaimers and disclosures before everybody criticizes. Atlease she clarifies whatever she can or can't do. In short, atlease she's being true to herself than saying and pretending that she knows everything.

The "bohemian" look was terrible. Even in that era no one would wear that many items all at once. All it does is swallow up your body with fabric.
It was cute. I’d totally wear that to be showy
The dark long hair actually looked really good on her, as did the flowy jumpsuit.
ReyBeltane yeah
Makeup is a total fail in all of them. None of these makeup looks are 1970s.
I swore she was gonna say "to really test the bohemian lifestyle, I think I need to go outside and smoke pot."
Woulda been more authentic than what she actually did.
@@cheyennehannigan8271 although, I found the "art" on the canvass pretty clever, and I think it could actually be exhibited and sold as am artistic statement.
You should do the 60's! They are my favorite and they have a lot of variety 😊
Sorry, but her commentary is half way rude.
In every era she does 😕
Her commentary is just boring and annoying
main thing that rocks is production, shoutout to the production crew
She looked pretty in the orange jumpsuit with her natural hair
1920’s! Or futuristic fashion. Love this series. Do more soon!
oooh 20s for sure! Flappers, Orientalism, all good!
70s is the best decade in terms of music and fashion.
U can't change my mind.
U just can't.
I watched the 50s episode first and was disappointed by how costume-y and not committed to the time period that the other eps are.
God, please bring back flares!! They're so cute
Once the video started I'm like..
..is that Chucky as a drag queen?
It looked like Chuckie's kid when he disguised himself as Tiffany 😂
Who else just came because they saw Bowie in the corner?

You gotta do layers when you block out eyebrows to make it smooth!
I feel the 1950s version was the best and most authentic, the 70's and 80's is just bad wigs mixed with modern accessories and cliches
are you sure it's david bowie inspired.....? not queen of hearts???
I LOVED the working woman outfit!!!!
OMG though - those polyester double-knits were like wearing an oven.
I wish I lived back then. Such a great time with amazing fashion. Guys were not afraid of dancing in flares. 💗
These wigs 👎
"Yess let my girls free!" Ahh, spoken like someone who doesn't actually have much chest.
That hair was umm not Ziggy
I mean it has that spiked and pooped up front and long mullet style. I think it’s hard to make a wig like that
The workplace outfit looked really good!

I absolutely LOVE disco to wear clothes that looked like a costume the music is amazing also. Wish I could get a time machine to see all that.
Best Dance Music EVER!
You need to pluck her eyebrows to a thin line. Brows did not come back until Brooke Shields.
The bohemian look suited Stef really well. Best of all that I've seen.
Love the gypsy look on her
How did the glam look end up looking so much like Cyndi Lauper?
Now that's an insult to Cyndi Lauper!
U definitely should dye ur hair darker. Looks very good on u
The bohemian look is my favorite!
I went 2 a vintage shop today and got all that type of stuff love you so much
Wow who cares
shapeshifting Vampire168 cool 😎
Best one so far!! Please do Debbie Harry, she is an icon.
The bohemian look is my fav!!!! ✌❤
I actually like the bohemian look, there’s a lot of layers but I think it works (maybe not practically tho). Kinda reminds me of cottagecore :)

Wow! Jeff is the most dedicated producer ever! lol
Did someone say iconic? Because im here
oof
Yessss David Bowie❤️❤️

I need to take a moment to thank Jeff's running gag, getting things for Stef
She is the woman version of Ben Hardy.
dont do my boy ben like that

Love it! Funny, interesting and educational.
Where are the 1960’s??? You guys jumped over it!
why am i actually in love with the painting?
The bohemian look is her perfect look
I deadass thought that bowie look in the intro was Cyndie Lauper
why is there no pics of freddie or even roger brian or deaky in the early 70s
The redhead is gorgeous

Should have played that iconic brand new key /roller skates song during that 1st look
Can’t believe they didn’t do a punk look lol

The wigs suck, safiya did it better.
Edit: that first looks shirt should be tucked in

kinda disappointed they didn’t include a punk look
70s punk vs 80s punk.... *_*
Who the heck did they show when she mentioned Morticia Addams
the original actress for Morticia, Carolyn Jones
Allison Phillips that’s not her
Maggie Hall that’s not Carolyn Jones

Not one mention of the classic wrap over dress, back to School for you!
Love this!!
90s next!!

Thea Porter!!! I love her!!
The last one looked fun
i love the disco jam sess, you look like you really enjoyed that part :)
seriously? not woth watching this with so many unskippable adds
The wigs are bad 😭🤷🏽♀️
Love these
giving me tht 70s show vibes, i love
Just watch that 70 show
50' were better and you made them better.
The last one looked like Vivian Westwood in the 70s
okay jealous because Stef can literally pull off any look and still look cool??? wtf share your secrets
I absolutely adore these videosss
safiya nygaard(hope thats how u spell it): decade videos
Glamour: yes
There was so much potential in the gypsy look but I feel like the styling was way too over the top
I was born in the 1970s, so I wore flared jeans or trousers and a short version of the 70s hair style, Swedish cloggs
