    Planning a trip out west for the first time this summer (from Miami, Fl) and have watched just about every video on your guys' UA-cam. Can't even express how useful these have been - just rented most of our campgrounds and I've never been more excited for a trip!! Thank you!

      I'm also from FL. Winter Haven area close to Lego Land. I've been out west around now about 5 times over the years to Yellowstone & Glacier & I've also been to Utah National Parks. All very beautiful, but the one I love the most of all is Yellowstone. Just so much to do there & each area of the park is unique & different than the others. Reminds me of the different lands at the Magic Kingdom LOL only this is all nature. One area all geysers, a couple areas fields & valleys, area around the huge lake, mountain area, waterfall area, grand canyon of yellowstone area, mud pots & springs area, & the area where all the Elk hang out at. The place I love seeing the most is the geysers & hot springs. Love the old faithful hotel. Although I've never stayed a night at the hotel its great just being in the lobby & they have a store, restaurant & visitor center.
      Planning another trip this Aug. to Yellowstone, Glacier, & for the first time I plan on seeing Mount Rushmore & surrounding areas.

    We are currently planning a trip out west for the first time summer 2023. You're not kidding about planning ahead....ideally 1.5 years in advance. We just started planning about 2 months ago, and we're already closed out of some of your recommended lodging sites unfortunately. We aren't planning to camp so the lodging (on a budget)is a challenge. We are planning to do everything we can while we're out that way (coming from NC) so your trip planners have been a godsend! Thank you for all the great info. We are doing a 5 week road trip in May. Starting out in Wisconsin and heading to Taos NM and then driving a bit of Route 66. Plan on visiting Petrified Forest/Painted Desert, Hoover Dam, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon South Rim, Canyon de Chelly, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Teton/Yellowstone and the Badlands and if course taking in as much of all those surrounding areas as time will allow. We have previously seen Rocky Mountain NP and the Black Hills. Have also done the Badlands but my hubby loves it so we are going to stop on our way back to Wisconsin. I am physically challenged so most of our trip will be driving with stops at lookouts and minor amounts of walking. This will be a trip of a lifetime for me. I've been to the Smokey Mountains many times in North Carolina, Tenn.& surrounding areas. They are also very beautiful but after my first trip out west & seeing the Rockies I can't get enough of he Rockies so much higher elevations, much larger mountain ranges. Kind of ruins the Smokey's for me now LOL. I went to the Smokey's last year to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge & although beautiful it no longer does it for me like the Rockies LOL I've also spent a few days up in Canada in Jasper National Park & a little time in the Yukon on an Alaskan Cruise shore excursion all so beautiful in those areas.

      @WereintheRockies  2 роки тому +1

    • @billybob-ro6qf
      @billybob-ro6qf 2 роки тому

      @@WereintheRockies Alaska is very beautiful. I've only seen a small part of Alaska on Cruises. I've been there 2 times on cruises & shore excursions. I would love to see alot more of Alaska, but most of it you can only reach with a boat or plane & I just don't have the time or money to see it all. Been in FL most of my life, so the north really interest me. I wanted to visit Nome Alaska one of the furthest places North you can go in the state. I also wanted to visit the National Park which has the highest mountain in America. I believe it's over 20,000 feet tall. The highest mountain I've been on was around 12,000 feet which I believe was Pike's Peak in Colorado. On my drive up to Pike's Peak a bag of unopened chips I had in my back seat popped open from the high elevation LOL...never had that happen to me before. So glad nothing else I had exploded like soda cans. It was hard for me to breathe up there, but I loved the sights & being so high up.
      First time I went to Glacier was magical. On the way up to the peak I passed by another mountain view I believe it was called Heaven's peak. There was snow on the mountain, beautiful trees & the sun shinning on it made it look like like Heaven. Then the top of Glacier Park snow was all over the ground & I saw some type of rodent for the first time ever. I forget their name but so excited seeing them. I fell in love with it. But sadly soon after my visit there was a forest fire that burnt most of the trees there. It just doesn't look nearly as beautiful being tree-less. And second time I went no snow which was disappointing. My poor mom's hands hurt her so bad from the cold she had to stay inside the visitors center by the fire place. But it didn't stop me from walking around & loving every minute of it. I had to be extra careful on the snowy area walking down hill. So not use to the snow being in FL LOL, but such a great time.

    Many thanks for your great video. I booked my 2022 Grand Teton and Yellowstone holiday about 13 months in advance. No rooms available at Jenny Lodge nor Old Faithful (either fully booked or no rooms for 4). I also had to plan a work around for the car rental place closing at 10pm at Jackson Airport. I could only find 2 companies that offered pick up of car at Jackson and drop off at West Yellowstone Airport, so I am glad I booked the car as soon as they opened up the dates. We are booked in at Grant and Canyon in Yellowstone NP, as well as Jackson and West Yellowstone. I use google sheets to plan the itinerary and colour code the segments of the holiday to get a visual oversight of the flow of the holiday. (one colour for one park and another for travelling days) etc. I then use google docs to create a "brochure"! I wouldn't normally go to these lengths for a quick, cheap, holiday to the Mediterranean, but when I am travelling all the way to America, I need to maximise my time there! Anyway, sure do enjoy watching you two, many thanks.
