on the street as a daily? r888's are really over rated in my opinion. Decent tire, but not all that versatile. They are noisy, high wear rate, and not good at all in wet conditions. I would not use them on the street personally. The Continental Extreme Contacts are amazing street tires. Great grip, quiet, handle fantastic, great in wet conditions, and they last. They are a pretty good price point as well.

I know its a popular and "trendy" tire, but its a track tire. Its not a street tire. He should be getting a good summer or Performance all season. I am making more power than him in my Type S and Im running Extreme Contacts and they are one of the best street tire I have ever used. And I have been through pretty much EVER performance tire on the market.
That bald guy is a good friend of mine who has a 388WHP high compression Miata, a lifted Subaru swapped AWD Miata, and a Mazda B2200 mini truck with a Lexus V8 and completely custom fabricated suspension. Everything was built with his own hands including his UA-cam channel which as of today has 519K subs. He is a much better driver than I am, but it was his first time in my car (which is fast and has torque steer).
