Congratulations Sheen. It is really intriguing to see someone from Medical background to join management consulting. It would be great idea if you could share how did you get into one.
Always happy to see people not limiting themselves to what they studied in college/university. Science in particular, when you have this as a background, I noticed people tend to see it as waste of education when you decided to work in a different industry. They failed to realise that school is there to teach you how to learn things (usually easily), and you can use the discipline and other areas of science to almost everything.
Upon completion of my PhD program, I hope to enter into the consulting field with a particular focus on arts in education and public policy and administration. This has been an insightful vlog, Tfs!
This is so interesting Sheen! I worked as a medical radiographer for the past 3 years and now I'm switching careers and go into business management. Thanks for the wonderful insight! Wishing you all the best!!
Thanks for sharing this video. I am currently about to start an MBA and looking to move from a sales leader role into consulting following the MBA so thanks for the insights in this video.
Very cool to hear your perspective on this! I work at a consulting firm myself (though in a very different function - the consulting life and work style is not for me lol) and I have a ton of respect for the depth of knowledge it takes to do all that.
Thanks for sharing! I think consulting is my next move after the job I'm in now because I like working on multiple projects with variety. :-) I'm also a scientist as well! I watch the UA-camr Ouga - she is also a consultant who is Moroccan but lives in London.
the other popular version is the consultant tells the company what they already know but need an external agency to provide air cover to push the project through. Jokes aside consulting is a good gig as it sharpens you selling, presentation and time management skills, Great video.
Interesting video, a few questions maybe for the next video: Is it expected that you will start travelling as much as before after covid restrictions are lifted? How have the restrictions impacted the work done as you are so often expected to be on client site? What does a standard week or day look like? As you're in Dubai do they pay less than other countries as there is no income tax and they know employees will be getting the same net income? What sectors do you work in and do you get to choose? Or are you pigeon holed into lets say FS? I hear that some MC firms in Asia, particularly India will expect weekend work whereas this is rarer in Europe and North America, what is the situation in Dubai?

Sheen, I like the way talk and the way you clarify things which have imbiguity.

Sheen, I recommend you watch ‘I don’t know how she does it’. The protagonist is an investment banker but their job sounds like yours.

I wish I can do that one day ; I took a step and currently doing my MBA but it really seems like a faraway dream :(
Hello, your video is pretty interesting! How many hours do you work per way during the week?

Your voice is fine. No worries.
will you ever go back to medicine? how do you keep in touch with your medical background. do you follow courses?
But I can’t say because I’m getting bored easily and I need something new in the interview
What can I say
You are so beautiful ✨✨✨
Why did you not pursue consulting in the uk?
Tax free income in Dubai.
