I’ve listened to all types of genres from Rock N Roll, metal, funk, jazz, progressive, country…etc. I’ve also played guitar for 35 years and I will concur Mr. Setzer is the man. Nobody does it like he does. I don’t care how fast you can play in a metal band for example. It’s about the emotion coming through your instrument. He has the whole package and to be able to sing and play what he’s playing is unreal. He has a beautiful voice as well.

Yes I agree this is pure magical music from the 80s. Pure rockabilly. There will never be anyone like the great stray cats bring them back in 2023. So the young generation can listen to the great Stray Cats. Meow.
To even grasp how hard that is to play that good and sing. Oh and to also invent the way he’s playing.
I'll this, watch his hand, he masterfully switches the pick from his index finger and back when he picks, and strums. He talks about that in one of his videos. It takes a lot of practice!!!!

I saw Brian along time ago walking down Broadway in the Soho area with a massive cross around his neck. I could see it from blocks away. Very weird experience
I remember this being the first time them. This was like the Beatles on Ed Sullivan for me.
I was in my early 20's when ABC's Fridays was broadcast. I felt more of an "Ed Sullivan Show" experience when Fridays featured Devo and the Clash. The recently deceased Jack Burns of Fridays was more open to booking new wave and punk bands than SNL was ( Elvis Costello and Fear being SNL's rare exceptions ).

Seen then in 1988 in Stuggart Germany while stationed there in the Air Force. They were in a joint called the "Longhorn" which still exists. NO air conditioning, hotter than hell, Brian's hair was hanging in his face after the first song, the pompadour was GONE! They were drinking Jack straight out of the bottle and the more they drank, the BETTER they played! Seen them again in Dusseldorf the same tour a few weeks later. Best years of my life, no doubt!
These guys are some of the coolest rockers ever. I have to go see them when they come around my way. Awesome

Sadly under-appreciated by the music press. In my eyes, he’s a top five guitar player, but he rarely gets a mention in “best of” lists.
