From what I’ve learned over time is, it’s your preference. Every “expert” has said something different. He’s absolutely right “you do you” and apply according to what you’re doing, something intimate, go light and put a little around the neck (keep her wanting to come back in for another sniff) outside park or event go a little heavy because you have the room of outdoors to do so. Typically I spray inside of both wrist, inside both elbows and a little on the neck and that works for me of course depending on what I’m wearing (par-fume, cologne, extrait) will play into how much I spray.
So appreciative that you have reached out🙏🏽 i’m so happy that you enjoyed this episode. It’s one of those common questions that I get on the channel that I thought would be nice to share with everyone. Thanks for reaching out @Secretwarz
Well done, this is one of the subjects I've been waiting for you to do. All facts. I stopped neck spraying way back when you briefly brought this up a long time ago. Glad you expounded on this seldom discussed topic.
Very helpful topic, Marcelo. I am an “under sprayer” and I spritz one at a time (even if I layer) because I want to enjoy the scent as it slowly builds up. I find that if I spray with abandon, there is a risk that I can go beyond how intense or intimate I like my fragrance would be for the activities of that day. Btw, I don’t think I have commented on this yet - Congratulations on the 30k!
Just gotta love this guy right here. Classy, professional and very clear. Thank you for sharing this information and your experience with fragrances, Marcello. Sending love from Israel 🇮🇱
I've found the best place to spray for weaker projecting fragrances are on the inside of the arm right at the crack of your elbows. Both sides. 2 or 3 shots each and you'll be catching wiffs of your fragrance for hours. Also great for projection. I've found spraying the inside of the wrist is probably the worst place to spray since I tend to wash my hands (and upper wrists) throughout the day, and of course I'm probably washing off that fragrance.
I think it's a 'guy thing'....my wife still doesn't understand it😂 (but all the boys in my family, are 'throne' readers👑 😎) Great to hear from you Juan, I'm glad that you enjoyed this episode👊🏽
Good evening Marcelo. SOTD - Iris Malikhan Maison Crevelli. Only time I went anosmic was when I had the dreaded 🦠. Tend to spray wrists, elbows and a spray on chest area. Never do I want to smell nothing again, it’s a very odd experience and all my fragrance sat unused for about 3 months. Made me very grateful for something I took for granted before. 🙏🏽🌻💛
Wow my friend this is one of the most important videos you ever made!... I think that in addition to the things you mentioned, climate and weather are the most important thing. some fragrances just are suitable for curtatin seasons. if it's 32 degrees (celcius) with high humidity, no fragrance will stay on... and in cold winter, you should NOT wear citrus and aquatic perfumes - most will not have lasting power whatsoever. Another thing, perfume concentration does not mean automatically louder fragrances. I have tons of EDT's (especially from the older eras) that will but every EDP or extrait to shame... it's all about the ingredients. thanks for the great video and helpful information!
Awesome to hear from you Philip, I love your contribution to this conversation. 100% on the money when it comes to your comments. As I mentioned, sometimes the fragrance is designed to be very intimate and personal not everything that is a EDP will have this enormous loud projection to it! I love your perspective on weather, this is a major contributor. I can see that I will do another episode, talking about the impact of different seasons on our fragrances… Thanks for the great idea, my friend💫🙏🏽
The only place that I can do it near my face without getting nose blind is the back of my neck. I’m walking around especially at a cold crisp night. when I stop walking, I have a first hand experience of what my scent trail and silage is like.
I was wearing 1 and a half sprays of orto parisi Bergamask on my neck to work (I’m a production chemist) I applied it 9 hours before going to work and my co workers told me that they could smell me anywhere and everywhere so strongly, but unfortunately they all said it’s a very sweaty stench and actually smells as if someone would sweat while wearing a fresh shirt. They didn’t like it and also told me, that it’s way too offensive. I don’t find the musk note and oud base to be a sweaty smell but seems like everyone else does. I think Bergamask is really beautiful and a masterpiece just like any other orto parisi. Btw even after my 8 hours shift it was still projecting like hell and filling the whole room and spreading scent trails wherever I walked. Don’t forget I was actually wearing it for like 17h at this point. Even after showering it was still projecting off of my body. It’s definitely a true 24h+ scent. The first 8 hours it smelt like a beautiful mix of realistic bergamotte, sandelwood overload and cedar, lavender and a very nice musk. Also the typical orto parisi dna (which I also smell in terroni and Boccanera) which smells like sexy, warm, spicy dark mysterious skin smell to me ( probably due to the oud in the base of all orto Parisi) was very detectable imo throughout the whole day of wearing it.
Having had Covid 2+ years ago, I’ve lost about ~80% sense of smell but I still use & enjoy fragrances for that last 20%. Usually sprayed into my beard which I can detect/enjoy yet get released slower almost like on or under clothing. Thanks for the interesting subject and content 💯👌🏻
Thanks for reaching out and I'm really sorry to hear about your sense of smell; I'm really hoping that in time this returns 100% for you @mycosic. I love your improv by spraying on your beard; this sounds like the best way for the slow release as you mentioned. I would be curious to know which fragrance's perform best for you; which ones really pop. Thanks again @mycosic, for reaching out; awesome to connect with you💫
I spray on the décolleté. I have no trouble smelling my scent all day. I have no trouble with the cacophony of scents around me. Because I always spray in the same place, for decades now and I can always smell my fragrance. I’m tall, so my scent can go over some people’s head or be in the face of others. I use one or two sprays and rarely reapply. I rarely layer scents either. I want my fragrance to do what it does, whatever that may be, over its’ natural timeline.
Hello Marcelo ! thanks for this useful video. All this is really well thought, I'll be more cautious with sprays around the head 😉 . I personally like to spray my armpits (having used a neutral or non scented deodorant then). Why ? because 1) they're very warm 2)they're humid 3)they're a CLOSED space most of the time. Meaning that the scent will not evaporate as quickly as from the rest of the body, only when lifting arms a bit, but at that moment it will have (stayed a bit younger in the evolution and have) a good projection. Perfumes tend to not last much on me and I experienced that the last whiffs of them (mostly edp) generally come from there (and textiles).
A few points. edp doesnt mean it projects and its powerful. In fact its usually much closer to the skin. Same with pure Parfum. Its the concentration not the projection. Second, spraying in hair does wonders for longevity on me. Highly recommend. Three, I never wear fragrances for others so I always want to smell it. If I dont smell it then the point is lost so I keep applying throughout the day.
Same, my hair is long down to my thighs, so I always spray my hair and it projects so well as I move about. I also like to spray my outfit before I put it on, seems to last longer on the fabric than in the skin.
Yeah, but I have longer hair and I wash it every 2-3 days. So, I must wear the same parfume for number of days before I wash it off… Not great solution. :/
SOTD is A’mmare by Carthusia. An 8+, created by Luca Maffei, you should try it 😉 I have a spray in the back of the neck although I’m not going to a party, I like the push for me too…
Due to genetics I run cold, have a pulse that's mid 50s at rest, a bp that's in the 90s at rest and rarely goes over 120, and basically don't sweat (simply do not heat up except heavy consistent exertion). I pretty much have to use exposed skin with good blood flow. Elbows, behind ears, where the carotid hits the jawline, etc unless it's something inherently nuclear.
I am so happy you made this, thank you! I'm not sure if this is a dumb question, but is there something I should do to care and maintain bottles of fragrance? Keeping them out of light? Cleaning the nozzle? I'm just curious, since paying this much money, I want the fragrance to last
Keep them in a cool, dark and dry place if possible. You don’t need to be paranoid about it, as some people do like to keep their fragrances out on display - but anywhere in direct sunlight is a big no-no, as is keeping them in the bathroom where they’ll be exposed to a lot of humidity and temperature changes. 👍🏻
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector It works great on my skin. The solar plexus is now my main spot for scents especially for EDPs. Just 1 spray lasts almost all day.
😂 I used to only spray 4 times max, but now I spray on oiled up skin and clothes alike! Usually 8-12 sprays these days. I’ve got to burn through all these perfumes!
I tried spraying on my bare chest, but couldn't smell through my t-shirt (I too only wear edp or higher). It could be that I'm just not a hot person(I rarely sweat), so I spray only on exposed skin. I almost always apply moisturizer before spraying so it's not because of dry skin. I also overspray as I get more compliments doing that(unless I'm riding in a car with someone or at work)
neck and wrists for me, i dont spray on clothes coz with niche, the fragrance is there the next time you wear the item of clothing, some good advice marcelo
I do the sides and back of my neck along with my arms. I would think spraying anywhere on the front of your torso is in the direct line of your nose. I think my skin chemistry is one that absorbs fragrance. I tend to spray a lot and I’ve rarely gotten comments saying I’m overwhelming.
Waited for your reply then I did what you do. I am allergic to perfumes on my skin especially face and neck. I have tried your method of spraying and it works great. Thank you for the guidance.
I am an over sprayer (I blame it on my 61 year old nose). I am going to try your 3 spray "rule" and see what happens. Hadn't heard about not spraying around the head area before. Interested to see how this works for me. Thanks!
Awesome to hear from you, I do appreciate you reaching out Like everything, you have to train the body to respond. So first steps might be a little bit frustrating as you’re not smelling your fragrance but I would recommend that you persevere for at least 3 to 4 weeks and see what happens… I’m excited to hear what happens!!💫
There is an interesting thing about nose fatigue for me, on some fragrances I stop to smell them at all, others I get an strong alcohol scent that doesn’t resemble the fragrance at all, especially if I bury my nose on them
I have a very close friend who is a trainer within the perfume industry. He comes across a lot (and I mean a lot!) of fragrances. He mentions to me that in order to give his nose a break. He actually wears no fragrances over the weekend (I know that for us perfume lovers this is a very big fast!) but he mentions that this allows his nose/brain to relax, and therefore able to do his work as the week commences. I’m wondering if maybe there is a certain level of nose fatigue on your part?? Maybe do a little bit of a perfume fast. And also spray away from your face/neck/chest and slowly allow your nose to step up, and begin to fight for that scent. Thanks again for reaching out, good luck!💫
If you spray on your solar plexus and stomach (on skin), does that mean you're wearing your clothes over it? I would've thought the clothes would block out a lot of that scent. Gonna have to try this tomorrow!
That's right. I only spray on skin. I never spray on clothes. I find that if I spray on clothes, then the fragrance will stay here and will then clash with other fragrance's that I might be wearing. As I mentioned, because I love use eau de parfum and higher, I find that the oils in the perfume have the power to push my clothes. Plus when my body heats up it helps push the fragrance forward. Would love to hear how you go with this test! Awesome to hear from you @rousseau327
I usually start with 4-5 sprays of an edp in the morning, and then another spray every 3 hours or so if possible. It’s cool that you only do 3 sprays - and others around you detect it even after 4+ hours?
I just purchased a new bottle of Nishane Ani and everyone says how beast mode and projecting it is. However, on me after 2hrs the projection is gone, I can only BARELY smell by placing my arm close to my nose 🙄 Is it my skin chemistry or did I go noseblind? I am thinking of selling it. 😢
Great to hear from you @Nasosdag 💫 Yes and No to your question. It all goes back to you personally. How sensitive are you to smells etc I know that for me I still keep to my 3 spray rule with EDT (although I don't have many of these). The only time that I change this up is with a citrus fragrance (something from the Perris Monte Carlo Italian Collection...which BTW are all EDP) I know spray up to 5 times My bottomline rule is that "less is more"😇 Great to connect👊🏽
I’m not sure if you will see this comment as I’m late to the party but thank you! Was my first ever video of yours and you have a new subscriber! I’ve had nose blindness for awhile with my own scents and didn’t know how to fix it! I wear Si by Giorgio Armani quite a bit which is definitely a stronger perfume and even that I can’t smell after a minute! I’d always been taught wrists, neck and de collage for the pulse points. Is there any value in putting Vaseline on under your perfume to make it last longer? Also I’ve heard people say to put it on your clothes but I was worried about staining. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks so much! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Awesome to connect Dana and so happy that you've stumbled across the channel!💫 Here's another FAQ episode that I created that you might be interested in: ua-cam.com/video/IAbGF-0rwaQ/v-deo.html Actually here is the Playlist for a number of FAQ's that I get: ua-cam.com/play/PLl2get-JHWtdXK3DALOFolNF-kJ2-9PBm.html In relation to perfume and clothes, my personal preference is a 'no' as I like to wear a different fragrance everyday and I find that if I place it on a clothing article I will now have a mixture of scents (and I'm not a fan). I'm also an Aussie based in Melbourne😎🇦🇺 Thanks for reaching out @DanaMac1977
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Awesome! Hello fellow Melbournian 😊 Thanks for replying and I’ll definitely check out your playlist. Love seeing some quality Aussie influencers out there now! Cheers 😊
I've always been into perfume and as a younger man I had a massive designer fragrance collection. In 2017 I discovered the world of niche perfumery and as a result I have jumped into this world boots and all!! I gave away my designer fragrance's and now only have niche perfumes in my collection; so yes, short answer, I only review niche perfumes. Great to hear from you @BeautyofScent
About nose blind - this summer I used ATH Supernova a lot. And I’m spraying it heavily, but I think this fragrance is more powerful than I think. My girlfriend says that the fragrance walks in before me. And her friend was able to detect the fragrance like 5 minutes after I left the building. In elevator, in a corridor, in a hall… And thats all when I almost couldn’t smell the fragrance on me.
Question…does Naxos need to macerate? I just bought a bottle straight from Xerjoff and it’s not near as strong as the sample I tried. Does it just take time to develop? Thanks
In my opinion all niche fragrances need to macerate. I've also found that my own bottles change both in juice colour and intensity over time; with Naxos being one of them. Currently my juice colour is super intense. Have a look at this recent episode: ua-cam.com/video/aUD6dBW6cAU/v-deo.html and you'll see how golden it is I always recommend that you store all your fragrances in their original packaging in a cool dark place when you're not using them ie when you rotate them around depending on the weather change Good luck @Twinnzllc, thanks for reaching out💫
Great to hear from you @OG-link, thanks for reaching out. I always prefer to spray on skin. Because I use a different fragrance everyday, if I spray on clothes I find that the fragrance stays on my clothes and then I have challenging perfumes. There are times that the fragrance seeps from my skin to my clothes but it's not too strong. Hope that helps! thanks for jumping into the conversation💫
I find that if I spray too close to my nose; I become nose blind to the fragrance a lot quicker. However, if I'm going to a party (or a social event), then yes, I will spray on the back of my neck so when someone hungs me they can easily detect my fragrance♥️ Hope that helps @zacakinluyi7653; thanks for reaching out 💫
I wonder where this gentleman is from? Half the time, he has the most beautiful Aussie accent. But, mid sentence, it'll switch to heavy American. I'm intrigued!
This is the enigma! Ok, so Argentine born, came to Australia at age 3 and had an American teacher early in my schooling years...BOOM = Bizarre Accent😇 What I do is roll my 'R' a lot😬 Hope that helps @australiangent0075, thanks for reaching out...awesome to connect👊🏽
Yes, I always spray on skin. I avoid clothes as the fragrance will stick and then I can smell it. I find that in some case's the fragrance transfer from my skin to the clothes that I'm wearing...this is true of a lot of Xerjoff's, Nasomatto, Orto Parisi and other big hitting fragrance House's. Would love to know what works for you with your fragrance's It's always good connecting @maidenmakes6395....if it's ok with you, would love to know your name. Thanks again for reaching out
Nose blind - fascinating. I spray wrist area mostly & occasional shoulder depending on the scent. I recently got Orto Parisi’s Megamare which is amazing and oh so potent. Been spraying that into the air and catching the molecules as they lightly fall upon my arms !!
Thank You for such good advice. I'd also like to ask if you have any suggestions for Bikers? as in where should they apply their fragrance because you know it just wears our rather quickly for us.
I know the accent is a weird! I'm Argentine born; came to Australia when I was 3 and had an American teacher very early in my development....boom! Crazy accent😑 Awesome to hear from you @unistudent4002, hoping you enjoyed this episode 💫

Thanks!
Awesome to hear from you, I do appreciate you reaching out
Like everything, you have to train the body to respond.
When you spray your stomach you mean under the clothes or do you spray on the clothes too?
I just purchased a new bottle of Nishane Ani and everyone says how beast mode and projecting it is. However, on me after 2hrs the projection is gone, I can only BARELY smell by placing my arm close to my nose 🙄 Is it my skin chemistry or did I go noseblind?
I am thinking of selling it. 😢
3:24 interesting how long time projection of Alexandia II ?
24 hours according to him/the perfume information. Hope this helps.
@@Jamaicanprincesss thanks
Great advice!
I suppose one can go heavier with EdT?
Great to hear from you @Nasosdag 💫
Yes and No to your question. It all goes back to you personally. How sensitive are you to smells etc
I know that for me I still keep to my 3 spray rule with EDT (although I don't have many of these). The only time that I change this up is with a citrus fragrance (something from the Perris Monte Carlo Italian Collection...which BTW are all EDP) I know spray up to 5 times
My bottomline rule is that "less is more"😇
Great to connect👊🏽
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector thank you!
@Nasosdag welcome💫
Awesome to connect Dana and so happy that you've stumbled across the channel!💫

In relation to perfume and clothes, my personal preference is a 'no' as I like to wear a different fragrance everyday and I find that if I place it on a clothing article I will now have a mixture of scents (and I'm not a fan).
I'm also an Aussie based in Melbourne😎🇦🇺 Thanks for reaching out

Sir do you only buy niche perfume sir? Do you do any designer reviews?
I've always been into perfume and as a younger man I had a massive designer fragrance collection. In 2017 I discovered the world of niche perfumery and as a result I have jumped into this world boots and all!!
I gave away my designer fragrance's and now only have niche perfumes in my collection; so yes, short answer, I only review niche perfumes.
Great to hear from you @BeautyofScent
If u still have more I don't mind one of the designer am a fragrance lover but only buy one I could afford..Wales from West Africa
Have a look at this recent episode: ua-cam.com/video/aUD6dBW6cAU/v-deo.html and you'll see how golden it is
I always recommend that you store all your fragrances in their original packaging in a cool dark place when you're not using them ie when you rotate them around depending on the weather change
Good luck @Twinnzllc, thanks for reaching out💫
Spray on stomach on belly button or above ? Is it safe to apply perfume on belly button?
Why not? It’s not an open wound…
Looks like u talked about edp only
Do you spray on skin or clothes on solar plexus and stomach?
Great to hear from you @OG-link, thanks for reaching out. I always prefer to spray on skin. Because I use a different fragrance everyday, if I spray on clothes I find that the fragrance stays on my clothes and then I have challenging perfumes.
There are times that the fragrance seeps from my skin to my clothes but it's not too strong.
Hope that helps! thanks for jumping into the conversation💫
Can u tell us why u never like spray behind your ears ???
I find that if I spray too close to my nose; I become nose blind to the fragrance a lot quicker.
However, if I'm going to a party (or a social event), then yes, I will spray on the back of my neck so when someone hungs me they can easily detect my fragrance♥️
Hope that helps @zacakinluyi7653; thanks for reaching out 💫
I wonder where this gentleman is from? Half the time, he has the most beautiful Aussie accent. But, mid sentence, it'll switch to heavy American. I'm intrigued!
This is the enigma! Ok, so Argentine born, came to Australia at age 3 and had an American teacher early in my schooling years...BOOM = Bizarre Accent😇
What I do is roll my 'R' a lot😬
Hope that helps @australiangent0075, thanks for reaching out...awesome to connect👊🏽
Interesting, most reviewers recommend spraying on pulse points
Hi Marcelo, I'm assuming you spray on your tummy on skin? Do you ever spray on your clothes?
Yes, I always spray on skin. I avoid clothes as the fragrance will stick and then I can smell it. I find that in some case's the fragrance transfer from my skin to the clothes that I'm wearing...this is true of a lot of Xerjoff's, Nasomatto, Orto Parisi and other big hitting fragrance House's.
Would love to know what works for you with your fragrance's
It's always good connecting @maidenmakes6395....if it's ok with you, would love to know your name. Thanks again for reaching out
Never heard anyone talking about his solar plexus so much
You don't like my solar plexus...?
Nose blind - fascinating. I spray wrist area mostly & occasional shoulder depending on the scent. I recently got Orto Parisi’s Megamare which is amazing and oh so potent. Been spraying that into the air and catching the molecules as they lightly fall upon my arms !!
MORNING GOOD SIR SOTD SEDLEY
Thank You for such good advice. I'd also like to ask if you have any suggestions for Bikers? as in where should they apply their fragrance because you know it just wears our rather quickly for us.
I can’t place your accent, you sound like an Aussie who’s lived in the US a long time.. or maybe the other way around??
I know the accent is a weird!
I'm Argentine born; came to Australia when I was 3 and had an American teacher very early in my development....boom! Crazy accent😑
Awesome to hear from you @unistudent4002, hoping you enjoyed this episode 💫
Fellas ! If you cant smell your own fragrance , its %100 weak perfume. This s approved science. You have to smell your smell !
Dude, get to the point. You’re saying the same thing three times. I like your video and you’re very knowledgeable, but please, cut to the point.
Ah yes...🙄
Promise that before I take my last breath on this great earth I'll get really good at 'getting to the point'!!🤩 (in the meantime, we all have to suffer through this😫)
Thanks for reaching out @BigLob2 , awesome to connect💫
