I love watching an expert working with heavy horses. You can see just how he loves them. LOL the way they totally ignore her and “ jump to it” the moment he says !
Great video! Loved meeting this breed! One of the best moments in the series: six huge horses in the hitch, Alyssa trying to give them commands, and they're standing solid as rocks, looking at each other as if to say, "Ya hear that, mate? Wot's she goin' on about? We're meant to be workin' heah." Wonderful!
That was so much fun to watch! I love this breed and the Marlie Stud carrying on the tradition. It was wonderful seeing the family photos from the past. Keep up the good work!
I´m totally flashed by the natural and gentle way these horses are handled and worked with. There´s so much other "equestrians" could learn just by watching this video. Thank you so much for sharing this!

That's a happy family of horses and people. You guys are opening up people's eyes to a amazing world of animals that exist all around them. Well done and much luck with the next breeds you visit and ride. Thank you.
Oh goodness, I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes! I've gotten on large draft horses who have only pulled and have never been ridden. To see how sweet this guy was and how responsive to the turns and different gates, I'd have wanted to take him home for sure ❤
Men will come and go and let you down and hurt you. But not Will. Will always loves you, he always does his best. Will always cares and has your back. Will stays with you through the good times and the bad. Will is the real hero.
Alyssa, this was one of your most entertaining videos ever! And as always, educational. So good to learn of all the innovative ways the majestic horse has benefited humans' development. Lots of laffing in this one, Australia of course! And standing beside those beauties, your "Godiva" hair was a good match for theirs. I'm always envious to see you riding the various breeds, this looked like sitting on a comfy chesterfield. Great work, carry on!
This is just so cool ❤! I love what you are doing, a fantastic channel and lovely to see someone so committed to exposing the breeds of horses around the world; their contribution to human society is inspiring and underestimated! Well done!

Hi was working on a station in Queensland an they used a draft type horse to go in among young horses that were being broke . Was in 1970 . Am Canadian .couldn't get work on Canadian Ranch So went to Australia
To ride every horse breed, you've set yourself a big challenge, good luck. As a 70+ year old I'd be just happy to be able to ride again, but most feel it unsafe for me.
Hey Alyssa(spelling?), I’m curious to know if you have a favorite horse breed? Also, I really admire your skill at riding and handling the horses. Even more, I really admire the way you bond with the horses, dogs, cats, and goats by showing them love. I have enjoyed watching each and every video. I hope that there remains at least another 77 breeds for you to ride.
I'm wondering how similar the equipment at Marlie is to what we'd see on a traditional Amish farm here in the US? Lovely breed! Thanks for another wonderful video!
The Aussie harness used in teams like this is fairly different from the typical Amish or North American harness. Winkers, collars and hames are both comparable, but the rest of Aussie team harness is minimal. Eg here Aleks uses no backbands, and chain traces, with pullleyblock eveners. The back row of horses don't need reins with this system. Amish systems tend to have a lot more harness on every horse, including back pads, girths, back straps and breeching, plus leather or webbing traces.
@@ianstewart-koster9982I thought the question was about the farm equipment/machinery rather than the harness. I would expect that to be pretty similar, but even that might vary because of differences in the sort of ground they might be working.
Yes a few Australian draught horses ice met in megalong valley in the blue mountains and at events. Their so quiet and dosile, hard working and calm gentle giants. Amazing breed.
In answer to your question: Yes, I have met some Aussie Drafts. Certainly not the show ponies of the draft breeds, but can't be faulted for what they were bred for; tough enough to cover mile upon mile of rough country with a great work ethic and disposition. They may not be oil paintings, but they get the job done with a minimum of fuss.
They are beautiful but i prefer the belgian drafthorses, because they have so more power, not because i'm from belgium. You did so well on the organic tractor for your first time.👍
Alyssa, great video. You were working on that koala( australian) farm. That was amazing. I thought that draught horse was draft horse. How it has to be written? 😘🤔
