What a wonderful video. I don't think Jimmy won the RAC Rally but in 1966 he could have but for a crash near the end. That's no disgrace for a man who was simply the best driver of his era and in my opinion, the best ever. 1963: World Champion (maximum possible points) winning 7 of 10 races & 2nd at Indy on debut. 1964: BSCC Champion. 1965: F1 Champion (maximum possible points) winning 6 of his 9 races. He missed the Monaco GP because he was winning the Indy 500! Also Tasman Series champion 1965, 1967 & 1968. Won more pole positions & Grands Prix than anyone before him. The list goes on. I could mention him winming at Spa in the rain by 5 minutes! (not 5 seconds) Jimmy was so much more than just a prodigious talent though. His quiet, gentlemanly approach to his racing, reminiscent of the wonderful Juan Manuel Fangio, helped him become a household name in the UK and many other countries. His name is still revered at Indy too. As so many drivers said at the time of Jimmy's untimely passing, if he could be killed in a racing car, anyone could be. What a driver. What a man.
My Father took me to Mosport Raceway near Toronto to see these men race. Quite often. Back in the 60's. It is something I will never forget. Those were the days,,,
Jim Clark was the ultimate racer in the 60s his skill was simply outstanding, his speed was super human and his natural talent was out of this world Jim Clark is my number 2 on my personal list of worlds greatest racers because the way he achieved his success in many different categories of Motorsport plus he pulled off some of the greatest drives the world has ever seen Michael Schumacher is top of my list and that's not just my opinion I also believe it to be fact for many reasons one of those reasons is how he rebuilt Ferrari who had only won 2 races between 1991-1995 and then when Michael arrived he and the rest of the Ferrari team worked their nuts off to bring the team back to where they belong and when they did it was truly outstanding Keep Fighting Michael RIP Jimmy Clark
I think that in terms of talent clark was ahead by miles to michael also for racing ethics if you know what i mean... but michael's will to bring on top of the world the greatest team ever and to ultimately achieve his dream to win a title with ferrari puts him in top 5 all time instantly.
Looking closely at the F1 cars those men raced in their era, the cars are so incredibly unsafe, yet they all drove them with amazing skill, bravado, and downright guts. Yet, gentlemen all.
Don't forget that they were quite brutal even back then. They would go beyond 250km/h on pretty much bicycle wheels. And last but not least, they were more or less just a petrol tank with an engine strapped to it.
Jim Clark was F1 champion, BTCC champion (when it was the BSCC) and won the RAC rally... what a legend!
Try to fast and furious car

Jim never won the RAC rally he only won certain stages but never won it outright unfortunately
I still remember where I was when they announced his death couldn’t believe it
@@StephenLMW Roger Clark won the RAC. No relation.
Nice quick video.. I really like Karun, & I hope to see more of him to come.
Karun Chandhok-one of the few Indian athletes I'm proud of because he's different. Great narrator though, he's already proved that in F1.
Jim Clark - my hero
