The name is actually "Mbirhi" and it means two. The formation of the pride must have been down to two lionesses. "Nharu" means three and that is in line with the three Birmingham sisters that formed the pride.
The Manyeleti is riddled with snares. This in part due to the locals in the area,as the reserve forms part of their ancestral area. The area was taken from them and over time, turned into a Game Reserve. They still poach game in the area, and lions and other big cats are often uinteneded targets. Very worrying that the issue persists till today.

So far and after many years following videos and reports regardind these precises Kruger's areas ... this is the best work to my opinion. Comments and pictures are excellents, the story as explained is really good and leave us time to understand !
I loved as well the sort of Tribute to passed away lions, Lambile, possibly poor N'cila and plenty of other ones not so well know and mostly gone too young.
I will end my comments with an exceptionnal hug to King RRM, he is in my heart like for many of us ...!
I feel incredibly lucky to come before end September and for a few days exactly where he patrols, Tintswalo, Sabie sands, etc.

I really love your presentation as being professional and your voice too ! RedRoad I have followed since he was a young male and named after the red road , I believe the coalition though small was in that general area near the Tswallow lodge , Alistair thought Red roads days were over , So proud of this king as he’s learned a long the way and has balls of steel , Nchila ( I may misspell ? If u get it get over it 🤛! ). Back to Nchila who was the leader at the beginning when there were four in the meadow and the next morning after a night not much was known about only three returned , I spaced the fourths name , Being snared he had it harder than Red road in regards to his injury , He I rooted for big time since early on , He must be gone , I know the many ways this could of happened, Evidence or finding out isn’t easy there . I work with wildlife throughout the Sierra Nevadas and since six or seven actually trekked alone in some diverse wild mountains , Backpacked alone extremely high at night with a moon , Something or one of resides in our mountains that is unprecedented in size and strength , Identity ? Just a warning to anyone whose going to get educated by those that know the region like the back of their hands , Not the rangers , Occasionally you can get a competent experienced one who as I was raised out and about ! Great 👍 Podcast ! I will support shortly ! HIT THE LIKE EVERYONE IT REALLY IS IMPORTANT AND HELPS ! Do it first or you’ll space it or won’t but best anyway ! Long live Red road ! He has a place in me I don’t give to many ! Get back and see him ! Kevin

@@virginiapaul1973 I never donate money. Truth be told, you have absolutely no idea nor any guarantee about where your money is going -- unfortunately. There are just too many obscure & underhanded things going on that we will never know about. I learned this lesson long ago. When I donate it is items that are needed -- food, blankets, etc. There are a few honest & reliable sanctuaries such as those who have recently brought in lions rescued from the Ukraine & a couple of other facilities that are trustworthy -- but what goes on elsewhere, especially in the part of the world where there are snares, you can't know what they do w-the money they get.

Thanks for the detailed updates. I think it really makes a difference because of the wonderful details & info. you include. You're obviously a thoughtful person who cares about the lions in that area.
One thing I'm sure is bothering many is the staggering # of snares that are catching the lions. The # of victims of those snares you listed is inordinately high. Do you know if any actions are being taken about this? I'm certain some hidden cameras in the bush could possibly lead authorities to the identity of these offenders. If the offenders are caught & prosecuted, I'm sure it would be of great help..bcz just going around & looking for snares is good, getting to the source is better.

Thank you for the kind words. They have border patrol and search teams out, but obviously they can't detect everything. Most incidents happened in the south eastern corner of Manyeleti (area around Punghwe) which is not a private concession and open to the public, and IMO a big part of the problem.
Other Private game reserves e.g in Sabi Sand who border local communities are not as big as Manyeleti and therefore have a smaller areas to protect with fewer people.

Shaka + Zigzag were born 2013, and sired by the Northern Matimbas… originally 3 males, but one was killed while nomadic in the Kruger Park. They returned to the central Timbivati in 2017, eventually taking over their first pride… the Zebanine pride, and then the Myambula pride, and then the Skorro pride in 2020 after ousting the Hercules + Sumatra males. They currently control the Birmingham pride. The Myambula males dominant in the Kruger are their sons… originally 6 males were down to 5 when they became dominant. Myambula males were born around Dec 2018- Jan 2019… with all 10 cubs(male + female) being born around May of 2019. Hope that helps… cheers.

I remember those guides stating Red Road days might be numbered, what a stud, Theres no wonder ,why there called Kings, hes proven that many times over, a solo pride male in the middle of some of the most fertile soil around, prime habit, the borders sabi and kruger, one of a kind. Anyway , God bless both prides and coalitions, very good information put out in this video, exactly how i rememberd it.Thank you as always. stay safe , be well!!

Grat video overall through needs to be noted that you are confusing Mongawane coalition with Monwana young males. Mongawane coalition is a duo of 2 unrelated males in their prime that are settled on H7 road where Skorro pride is residental. They might potentially have or had territorial dispute with Tintswalo males over Skorro pride and might have somethink to do with Ncile sudden dissapearance. Monwana young males are 3 young males that were recently seen in Manyeleti, they are the males that video of you included in this video. There is no reason to assume Monwana young males could have anythink to do with Ncila dissapearance.
