Love your videos Cookie, started watching them last year before a trip out to Alpe d'Huez. Now you’ve got me wanting to upgrade my GoPro to an X3!! Thanks for all the amazing content 🤙
Great skiing and edit. Thanks a lot for the Motorcycle Tipp! Have you already tried the back bar? I think this is a cool follow me shot as you have your camera not fixed to a "moving part" like the arm-problem
Hello just have 1 questions how well do the lenses hold up to falling in the snow I don’t want to break a 600 camera because I fell or was in the woods and branch smacked it
The editing suit and touch screen control from 360 to flat or very intuitive on the max… but the actual app is not as good. The Insta OneX2 feels more robust and I’m more happy throwing it about- plus the editing software on the phone is great! Much prefers the OneX2 over the max
perfect solution, perfectly timed for me. Going on a ski trip in a few weeks and have been stopping footage from so many people and asking how they are holding the selfie stick. This makes it so clear and easy with the motorcycle mount added. Thanks! edit - would like to know how you have attached to boot, I did a couple years ago, right above boot on upper shin with pieces from an extra chesty mount, made it tight around leg but still had a little bounce to it (was with gopro at the time)?
@@Cookiesports was testing before trip- the selfie pole was slipping a little with the motorcycle mount, we’re you seeing it slip now and then too? If not- how to keep it tight?
the slipping was in the two ball joints in the mount, not where attached to ski pole. We were simulating movement and the two ball joints gave a little bit, is it just to man up and tighten more or have you experienced similar movement?
Hey cookie, great video! I’m going to purchase my first 360 camera, the x3 but I have a few questions if you don’t mind: 1. Have you used the snow kit? It seems a mount similar to the motorcycle mount has been added except it doesn’t look as robust? 2. The photos in your intro, are they taken on a photo mode or just paused footage? The quality looks amazing! 3. Do you use sticky lens guards? I’m cautious of falling and scratching the lens Huge Thanks In advance, love the videos
Yes, do it! Be sure to use the link in my video descriptions! 😜 1. Snow kit is good, motorcycle mount stronger but heavier 2. Photos and screen grabs from the videos. 3. Don’t use sticky lens guards… although give you more protection it’s really tough to get a clear shot. Drop me a message on Instagram… you’ll see why…😜
That RIGHT POLE PLANT HAND, looking like an appendage, is driving me absolutely bonkers!!! It makes you like an intermediate skier! The pole plant is extremely important to set up the next turn and also as a trigger for balance and body positioning, for example moguls using a slightly shorter pole. There needs to be a better way to get the same kind of shot without sacrificing the pole plant hand, which completely ruins the whole shot when done in my opinion. The top of backpack isn’t good enough either because it doesn’t show the angles or body position very well and also is BEHIND the face and or just too close to the body. The backpack mounts should allow the camera to move AWAY, and OUT TO THE SIDE of the body vs going in the vertical access. It’s so frustrating these, otherwise, cool beautiful shots are ruined by people having to hold a selfie stick to get the best angles - but then we look like a total dweeb skiing due to the dead hand that’s fundemental part of the whole movement and ruines the rhythmical movement; which is what makes skiing beautiful. Kill off one hand on ONE SIDE, kill the overall rythm of the move….and the skiing no longer looks pro level, or even realistic. Sorry to go on and on but it’s super frustrating and I wish the Insta360 team would prioritize a solution for this (it isn’t a big deal for boarders as it is for skiing because they don’t use poles).
Look into “sail video system”. It’s exactly what you’re describing- harness/shoulder straps for camera mounting. I use it windsurfing a lot (you’ll see it elsewhere on this channel). I use it on other ski videos too- but this way of hiking the camera is very quick, simple & cheap!
@@Cookiesports awesome!!! Thank you so much! I’ll also be taking up kite surfing this year that I got for Christmas so good knowing you got a hood system for something like that as well! Ps I can tell you definitely aren’t an “intermediate skier”! 🤣 👍🏼

Highly recommend these cameras! 👍👍👍👍

Great advice!

Great video! Thank you again
Thank you! Loads more fun ones on the channel too! 👍👍👍
Hi , great info did you have the camera in me mode or just recording Thanks
Most of this isn’t in “Me-Mode”… but there’s another video on n the channel that shows a little more about it.
@@Cookiesports great I’ll check it out, just bought the 360x3 been using it Kayaking now planning ahead for my skiing month in Feb 👍
Thanks so much!

Hey! Thanks for the video. What filming mode do you use for skiing, video or active HDR, and why?
Just go AUTO with everything! Can go far wrong, then use auto colour corrections after to make it even better! Simple! 👍

Use this link when you order… for the next few days there is a snow bundle thrown in free! www.insta360.com/sal/x3?insrc=INRTW2N
Could you use the ski pole mount in the snow bundle and attach the selfie stick to that? Deciding what accessories to get...thanks, awesome video!
You sure can…. I just found the MTB one more solid!
@@Cookiesports thanks!
Hello just have 1 questions how well do the lenses hold up to falling in the snow I don’t want to break a 600 camera because I fell or was in the woods and branch smacked it
Pretty good with me… I’ve had them since the first model and had no issues!
Highly recommend!
Thanks for the tutorial. What's the length of your stick? 70cm or 120cm?
Thanks!
120cm or 3m! I love the mega pole- the 3m one gives you so many options on what you can film and how it looks!
Video bene fatto! E grazie di aver reso disponibile la traduzione in italiano 😄
😜
Cookie - appreciate the insight. Have you tried the GoPro max on the slopes? Any insight to differences between these two?

Perfect video ! Can we adapt a (prenium) lens guard on the one X2 to protect ?
You can put lens guards on the camera, but it affects the video quality a bit
@@Cookiesports Ok, and can we use the same motorcycle mount to windsurfing ?
@@cyrilcharpentier5478 You could, although it might be better to look into a flymount too- they have a new one coming out that’ll do great for both!
@@Cookiesports Thank you, I didn't know and it look more resistant 👍
Thanks man, that's what I need

Is the selfie stick invisible? I’m amazed how there is no stick shown in videos
Yes yes yes, the cameras and selfie sticks are amazing!

Question, what is that insta360 x3 support called so we can purchase it?
Not sure about the purchase support, but you can email service@insta360.com 👍👍

Still think it looks weird that one hand is static and not doing pole plants.
Have you tried a long unicorn mount… come out pretty well and free’s up your hands!
@@Cookiesports 👍
do anyone have some Ideas when snowboarding? What is the best mount here?
Keep it simple and use a med length selfie stick, or a back pack harness
Can you point ski resort where did you film it ?
This is filmed in Alpe d’Huez! 👍👍
