Gworl, I’ve been dealing with pcos for the past 9 years, period are super irregular, bleeding for months and the hormonal changes are insane. No one knows what it feels like to not have control over your own body if you don’t have this. I appreciate this video and see someone else with this. Ive been struggling with weight loss and postpartum and its nice to see someone on a social platform to go through human tings lol. Ive been on birth control for the past 10 years on and off 🙃. Im glad to see a video on someones else prospective on pcos. Glad to hear you are getting better ❤️‍🩹 🙏🏻

Awww yes girla we have to stick together and spread awareness. Like it’s hard being a woman 🥲 and then going through something like pcos because it’s unpredictable on who can have it and the symptoms vary per person. It sucks.

Im sorry that you have super long periods. I actually have irregular periods. I barely get them and when I do it's for one day. It doesn't sound that bad but I can never relate to other women when it comes to periods because I never have truly experienced one. I also have a beard so I just feel like a man sometimes.

I’ve been diagnosed with pcos last year. I cut out sugar (added sugars) and bread. I ate a lottt of Salmon, green veggies such as spinach, sweet and red potatoes, cinnamon, chia seeds, almond milk. I didn’t eat red meat either. I lost weight with no issue down to my high school weight. My stomach was flat and on fleek! I felt really good and energetic. My menstrual cycle started to come every month consistently, I began to ovulate and TMI but I’ve been very juicy which I liked a lot! I started to eat bread and processed foods again :( and realized my healthy diet was healing me. I’m working on sticking to this new diet , just can’t eat the same anymore.
Far as my hair, my hair was shedding like crazy!!! What has helped is keeping it moisturized! The minute it dries out I spray it with water and seal it. Mane & Tail has helped to thicken my hair up. Just have to stick to the regimen.
I have hope for us! God made herbs and they are somewhere to help us reverse the disease.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 20 years old, but I suspected I had at a younger age when I had very painful and heavy periods/cramping (did extensive research on my own). I’m now 27, and man has it been quite the journey. Initially what led to me seeking medical expertise/ diagnosis was at the age of 18 did not have a period for an entire year . I was scared out of my mind! I was put on birth control which ultimately made some of my PCOS symptoms worse, but it helped clear my acne. I stopped taken the birth control because it was just too much for my body to take even with adjusting or switching to different birth controls . Within 3 months I gained weight drastically and was constantly weak and tired (I did not have the best diet). I was in and out of the hospital. I began experiencing hot flashes or some months I was experiencing some pregnancy symptoms. God it was a nightmare . I remember the many days and night I cried and was angry or depressed. At this time I only had like 3 chin hairs (named them curly, wurly, and spunk), but as the years went by it turned into a full bread and few hairs on my cheek and mustache. It was heart wrenching looking into the mirror. In fact, I would try to avoid looking at myself for awhile because I was in disbelief. From there, my weight would fluctuate up and down (weight mostly going to my breast and stomach). It did not matter what I ate. Once, I got out of my funk I had started to do more research on how to take care of myself naturally (did not want to do birth control nor the diabetic medication). I just kept diving deeper and deeper into my research! I was determined to get it under control. Ovasitol , reservatrol(naturally found in grapes), berberine,Zinc, and etc are some of the things I’ve used to get it under control. I also started working out more( leg workouts especially as I’ve read it helps) . I also switched to a vegan diet at first but I had learned I had to be extremely careful with what I ate because the process vegan food had adverse effects. Now I just strive to eat more healthier. I am more of a pescatarian now. Saw palmetto, fenugreek, maca, chaste berry, black cohosh. And etc has helped me tremendously as well. I have been able to maintain a health wait for the most part although I’m still trying to figure out how to get rid of these breast lol (went from a D and now a damn H). I’ve been considering getting a breast reduction when time permits itself. I’ve been able to get my stomach back to being flat although it’s been a challenge with trying to get my abs back. Honestly, I would not be in the state of mind/being with out the support from my fiancé. He has been here since I was first diagnosed, and I honestly would not have been able to do this without him. I had open up about it to my family and tried to educate them, but all they did was make jokes about me becoming a man or said I was cursed by god.. which did not help with my depression/suicidal at all.. It made me hate myself at certain point in time, but my fiancé constantly reminded that I was beautiful with a beautiful soul and that we would get through this and I will get through this. I eventually was able to accept what was happening. Now I’ve been able to help others with PCOS and help them along the way with their research. I’ve dedicated a whole Pinterest board on the subject with a lot of my research. I’ve though about maybe doing a podcast ( I would do UA-cam but I’m camera shy Ahahaha). My fiancé and I have been talking about kids so I’ve been doing more research and listening to other people’s PCOS pregnancy journey. In hopes of starting mine in the near distant future . Right now, I haven’t had a period for about 4 months which is worrying me a bit, but im still trying to get my diet in order which may be the cause and stress as well! Ladies stress plays a big role as well!! I’ve joined many PCOS forums to talk to others as well as just talking to love ones who truly care which helped tremendously with keeping my stress at a minimum. I’m so glad that we are able to find and have these safe spaces because there isn’t a one cure all for this, and I rejoice to hear stories of other cysters getting pregnant or reversing their PCOS (yes, it is possible! I’ve done tremendously amount of research and ladies have reversed it with raw plant based diets, high grape in-take, etc). I would not say it’s incurable, but the research hasn’t been done yet to do so! With all that being said Laurasia and all the other cysters in the world, you all are beautiful, strong, and courageous! This body is just a vessel, and our illness does not define us! P.S I never read anything about PCOS being defined as us being transgender and I can’t believe people are so cruel to do such a thing and that is upsetting . That misinformation needs to be addressed and corrected immediately. We already go through enough!

I honestly didn't know so many people were dealing with PCOS. It's definitely been a struggle for me aswell. I found out my last year of college. However It seems getting closer to 30 (currently 29) I started getting these similar symptoms minus the low hemoglobin. Tips I would say have been helping recently is eating better. Driking about 2cups of spearmint tea a day (help with estrogen).Herbal teas have been a God send look into some thay can work for different things like stress relief etc.Taking Myo & D -Chiro Inositol + Vitex Berry vitamins to balance hormones and get a regular period. Reducing sugar intake and stress (it makes me bleed heavier and for longer periods of time). Aslo see a therapist aswell as joining a community of loving women. Mine if through my church. I will say having a community really helped with the sadness/depression. I feel like this happens since pcos is also hormonal so it bring severe mood swings. Atleast for me. I've probably had it all my life but I was diagnosed when I was 29 too. It's regular for me not to bleed for months or to spot nonstop for months. I spotted nonstop from Sept 2021 to April 2022. I didn't do anything about it because this was my norm. I only went to the ER because I woke up light headed and afraid to walk for long periods of time because I thought I would collapse. They checked my hemoglobin too and it was fine but they had to stop the bleeding. I had a transvaginal ultrasound this year and bloodwork. I don't have cysts on my ovaries but I do have higher levels of testosterone in my blood. I tried 4 different birth control meds and they all worsened my pre-existing depression. I've gained a crap ton of weight and now I'm trying to regulate my eating which is SO tough. I so appreciate you sharing. I’ve dealt with the weight gain I’ve gained 20lbs in 2-3 months. My acne was horrible and my hair also started to thin which sucked because I have naturally fine hair so that didn’t help. I’m now on bc so I can have a cycle. Oh yes and about that everyone swears up and down that my hair is thinning because of my styles not even taking into consideration that it’s the PCOS. I’m here for the awareness that’s now coming to light about PCOS.

I scheduled an appointment with an endocrinologist because I have an irregular period and experience mood swings 2 weeks before I’m supposed to have the first day of my period . I do have depression and generalized anxiety but I knew the level of anger, sadness, and anxiety I felt was beyond that . After reviewing my blood work my doctor believes I have PCOS and I’m scheduled for a pelvic exam to check for cysts on my ovaries .
Thank you for making this video , it def made me feel better about the possibility of having PCOS and that I have the strength to get through it like you, I really appreciate 😊❤️

Thank you for sharing your PCOS journey. I remember when you had to go to the hospital…. that was very scary. It is so hard to deal with PCOS. Going through hair loss, weight fluctuation, hormones out of balance, painful cycles & ovulation… not to mention excess facial hair smh it’s bothersome emotionally and mentally and being tired a lot! I wasn’t properly diagnosed until I figured out what my body was going through and to have my 5th gynecologist confirm my findings last year in September… I feel like it seems like it’s so (taboo) in sense. Smh it’s hard to deal with… but I appreciate you for telling your story… it’s refreshing to see someone else be open about PCOS so again I really appreciate you!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😘😘😘😘 Also, the new regime that you have is very insightful! I also have PCOS… it was years before they figured it out in early 2021 using the same tests. I also had the extremely heavy period that doesn’t stop.. got scared when I messed up my clothes on the way to work within 15 mins of leaving the house and went to the doctor..they told me I was anemic… In 2019-2020 it slowed down but never stopped first few months then started skipping months and then the thicker hair on spots on my chin..I did also gain weight and have problems losing it. Please be careful with the the anemia part… I also had the blood count situation, by the time the doc called me to go to the doctor I had already had incidents fainting on the train. Find the best way to consume your iron- for me it’s canned tuna, liquid iron. Intermittent fasting also helps. I haven’t had the hair loss but I’ve had major depression. I’m slowly understanding it and l’m less depressed.

Natural / other remedies for me - reduce meat intakes (red meat) - I eat mostly seafood and chicken, red meat only when I crave it. Limit carbs/ sweat- but I struggle because I love sweets and rice. I learnt not to deprive myself as it can trigger depression.. so I have when I crave it and tomorrow is a new day. …intermittent fast- I eat between 12-7. Also, I’m Caribbean- I’m researching teas/ herbs for insulin resistance, boiling those with cinnamon sticks like Dr. Sebi lol. Contraceptives for regulation. Lazer hair removal- was hairless for like a month lol.. then they came back. (Did 10 sessions)..Most importantly don’t give in to the depression.. the hormones make you crazy, but everyday is a new day to try again. For me I was advised I may have fertility issues. Hopefully I be able to have just one child when I’m ready. One is enough for me.

I went natural, that didn’t work… I then went back to being relaxed because I figure it was in my hair management… that didn’t work. I was diagnosed this year and it all makes sense but then it doesn’t… I’m trying to navigate loosing my beautiful hair on my head but growing it everywhere else. I'm struggling with PCOS since 2015 my first time ever in Hospital in my life. Weight gain and little weight loss. My old doctor told me to stop eating sugar, cake and soda. When I told her I didn't eat those things and still concerned on how I gained 60lbs, she told me I was lying. I was bleeding for months, enlarged breast, facial hair, fatigue, acne and so much more. I've always complained about these things but doctors gave me every excuse. It became worse and I noticed the extreme fatigue. My new doctor had me examined and Dx with PCOS. NOW I'm noticing changes in my disabled mentally challenged sister that I take care of. Having a phlebotomist come out to the house to take a blood on her. I praying for everyone dealing with this. Ladies get checked!

Omg!! I been dealing with pcos since I was 14 and was Mia diagnosed for years didn’t get diagnosed til I was 28 and I lost a ovary and Fallopian tube from it . I been through so much with this I been depressed over came it depressed again married twice no kids struggle to even give my husband now kids for them to tell me I can’t have kids even if I do Ivf it’s not Guarantee but my best option it’s so much I’m now just getting the information out to my nieces and cousins who clearly have been misdiagnosed as well and come to find out they have it too but because it took them so long with me my body is damaged from it but I do want to start an organization for people who do have it just to know early on signs of it to catch it early
