  • It's (somehow already) that time of year where the bugs may show up at your secret fishing spot before you do…. Don’t let a hatch scare you off the lake! Here’s a few tricks to help you catch more walleyes right now.
    Drop a comment below and let me know what you think. 👊 Thx SO much for watching!

    ‣ 3/16-oz VMC Ned Rig Jig:

    ‣ 1/2 nightcrawler:
    Mother earth
    ‣ 8- or 10-lb Sufix 832 Advanced Superline (main line):

    ‣ 8- or 10-lb Sufix Advance Fluoro (leader).

    ‣ 1/8-oz VMC Hard Ball Jig:

    ‣ 2B Genesis “Precision Shooter” (2B-S75ML-M):
    twobrothersinn...
    ‣ Amped Outdoors lithium batteries:

    I upgraded my boat batteries to lithium last year and could NOT be more happy!
    I went with Amped Outdoors' 36V 100Ah trolling motor lithium battery system (which is two 36V 50Ah LiFePO4 batteries in parallel). I was able to shave off roughly 140 pounds 😳 by running those 2 lithiums vs 3 lead or AGM batteries, and of course get some amazing run times:
    bit.ly/36V-100...
    Which also freed up an extra battery slot in my boat, so I was able to plug in this 130Ah beast (only weighs 31 lbs) to exclusively run all of my electronics - fer dayzzzz 🔋 - instead of running them off of my cranking battery:

    Nick out there showing all his tricks with the best live imaging shot on the internet. Sharp shooting the walleyes on slip bobber is so much fun. Tight lines girls and boys.

    I love watching Brett, always excited and informative! Also neat to watch a local MN guy, VS the Canada boys who seem to have less pressure on the water.

    Good stuff buddy! Just caught 3 tonight and it was slow. I'll have to bust out the live bait tomorrow and see if I can get on em a little faster

    Same as after flood waters come in. About 24 to 30 hours and they are all stuffed so you have to cater to them more. Tight lines guys, good video and explanation.

    Great video as always, Brett! But "ready to super-glue the hands and fingers shut again'' went right over my head. I'd like to use that line but I would need to know what it means....LOL. Thanks.

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  4 місяці тому +1

      Haha! Not trying to brag, but I have honestly caught so many walleyes this season that I have legit been having to super glue all of the little cuts everywhere shut 😂

    Hate fishing during a big hatch!! Like the bobber reeling tip, everyone always seems to set the hook hard!!

    I look forward to giving your worm technique a try. Thanks for another educational video. You superglue on your plastics?

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching! I definitely add a bit of superglue to most of my plastics. It's for sure worth taking the extra few seconds to do so, and saves a ton of time (and plastics) throughout the rest of the day.

    Man, I just hate those midges! When you add your leader, do you tie it directly to the braid or do you use a small swivel? Also, what type of snap swivel do you like best? (I'm going casting soon, probably using harnesses and Erie Dearies). Another awesome video, Brett!

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye  4 місяці тому +1

      They are incredibly annoying! 😅 I use a double-uni knot to attach my fluorocarbon leaders. The exception being glide baits and slip-bobbers...then I'll add a small #10 VMC RS Swivel. Hope you have a great trip!

      I should probably use it more, but I don't like to when there's other boats around because it's like waving a flag and saying "Hey, we are catching them over here!" LOL

      It's been fluctuating a bit lately, but around 57-60 degrees depending on the day and where you're at on the lake.
