    Love this etude, so much resonance. Also good for 4th finger to get that resonance for E and B.

    Dear Zlata, thank you so much for your videos which are just in the right level and not too overwhelming esp. for beginners and for this tutorial! This is -the- no in the Wolfahrt op.45 my teacher marked for me to practice 20 years ago *gg* (I had only one year of lessons then and we just started these etudes. Then I stopped playing and just started again 4 month ago *g*). Warm regards from Germany!

    Zlata...Your lessons are at my playing level and, thus, they are most helpful for me! Actually, I have been working on my own through the Wohlfahrt book among my previously-completed Suzuki books 1-6 since my teacher has moved away and I don't have another teacher yet. So I decided to polish my basic skills by taking my time going over my older books but, this time, more slowly and meticulously without having the pressures of getting ready for weekly lessons with new material constantly. I am actually enjoying this break from lessons where I can take more time to revisit and improve my basic skills using my previously-learned etudes and pieces taught from all past lessons! Unfortunately, I still struggle with establishing a vibrato...grrrrrr!!! I am a senior adult. Perhaps children learn vibrato more easily with more flexible and nimble joints! I have some stiffness and mild arthritis which does not help!
    I am going to check out the Tomplay app as you suggested! Congrats on your growing family! God bless you from me here in the state of West Virginia, USA!!!

    Hello - I would like to know if the ideal bow position varies with the kind of strings used - i.e., if synthetic strings or gut strings ought to be bowed closer to the bridge, and steel strings closer to the fingerboard.

      It depends on more factors than that, your violin, your bow, the sound you want. For each piece find the proportion of weight, speed and contact point to get the sound you want.

    How would i know how fast should i play

    • @violinlounge
      @violinlounge  3 роки тому

      Choose a tempo in which you can still focus on all parts of your playing and do it right. If it's sloppy, slow it down to a tempo that you can manage and build up from there.

    Dear Zlata, thank you for this nice tutorial! I have always a question with this No. 4 concerning bow distribution on the very few quarter notes. You play them with less bow only down to the middle. I have also seen videos where it's played to the frog but then on the next short note the bow has to be brought very fast back to the tip. Both seems to be a bad compromise to me. I wonder why Wohlfahrt has composed it this way. I had the idea that you maybe should begin at the tip, and when the quarter comes, you go to the frog and continute the pattern there until the next quarter brings you back to the tip. But unfortunately the next quarter comes on an upbow so that can't be the intention. Any hints appreciated, and congrats for your nice channel!

      Music is composed to be music, not to be played in the easiest way. Etudes prepare for this, so indeed you must compensate in some way (either giving the quarter note less bow or the eighth note more bow) just as one would do in real repertoire.

      I barely managed to memorize last week's Pracht, but I'm happy to take this one up as well bc,d,d,d,d versus d.b,c,d. time to turn my gray matter into white matter with crystal clear black notes.
