  • Everyone makes mistakes when they are new to things, and UA-camrs are no different, their are 5 mistakes that are stopping your channel from growing the way you want it to, these affect almost every creator I meet, they’re things so obvious that people don’t really talk about them anymore because they expect you to know them, and will belittle you for not knowing,
    And, even after growing two channels, one to 230,000 subs, another to 40,000, getting millions of long-form views, and over 25 million short-form views, these are mistakes I still make, they’re things I have to avoid every single upload, and I am pretty confident if you’re watching this, you’re making them right now… luckily, we can fix them today.

    How To Increase Click-Through Rate For New UA-camrs
    Look, it comes across as a bit intense but it’s really important that new UA-camrs hear that… You do not matter.
    The sooner you understand how little you matter, the sooner you can actually start growing your channel… which is ironic because to be a UA-camr you need to be narcissistic enough to believe you’re worth watching
    Let me explain… when your thumbnail and title appear on the homepage…. How many people actually recognize your face that you plastered in the thumbnail? Why would someone click on your vlog trip to the beach? Or episode 69 of your five nights at Freddie's playthrough?
    So one of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to separate your own personality and understanding of the content, and then instead put yourself in the shoes of someone who has no idea who you are, what your content is about, or anything.

    How To Grow Your UA-cam Subs With Community Polls
    A major secret when it comes to appealing to the masses, and beginning to grow the audience your content goes out to is actually the Community Posts tool on UA-cam… specifically I am in love with the Community Poll tools.
    I’ve been using Community Polls here on SSN for over 2.5 years now, I post polls to understand you, your interests, troubles, and it often helps me make content more targeted to your interests…
    But it also builds huge impressions on the channel, and after snowballing years of polls back to back, you can go from getting 100 votes, 200 votes, all the way up to 6000 votes per poll… now before anyone says anything, you can scroll back I was using community polls BEFORE Spiffing Brit released his video on how broken and overpowered they are.
    Once you have all those votes consistently, you can start adding in your videos that match the Poll topic to boost their views, because a lot of these polls don’t just go to subscribers but also non-subscribers who are interested in the topics the polls cover.
    The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and VidIQ in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Filmbooth and Nutty.

    That explains a lot of video title changes I've been seeing over the years... I had definitely noticed but never understood why those changes were made.

    Great video!
    Almost 3 out of 5 mistakes here apply to me to such a degree it just kinda shows me how common these mistakes are. I thought I was the only one still making these mistakes

    Is it a good idea to change titles of videos, i have uploaded months ago, even if they have upwards of 10k views,
    Also if it is okay to change old titles is there like a range in which it is too late?

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 місяці тому

      Yes, I recently changed a title on my secret experiment channel with 100 subs and it went from 40 views after 19 hours, to 4000 views in another 12 hours.
      I change titles if the CTR is low, and I believe that is why. I also change videos from years ago and see success.

      I also wish you had a long form class about all of these. I feel like i have a decent grasp but there's so many tips in this video that I feel like I need a full class!

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 місяці тому +1

      No need for a class :) All the information to grow on UA-cam is freely available, often people just need to slow down and take the time to research.
      My new channel which covers Indie Games as reviews has released 1 video a week this year every friday, and currently we are bringing in about 2000 views a day with only 100 subs, its purely because of the tips in this video about appealing to the viewers need for value, curiosity, and desire.

    I've seen more and more videos using your style of titling, and honestly, its made me click on videos even less. It feels like every video is screaming the same phrases to get my attention and its so unappealing, I'd rather go do other things
    Using your Pokemon Uranium example at 5:00: If I'm asking "what is this banned Pokemon game?" I'm unlikely to watch more than a couple minutes of a lets play. If I'm looking to watch someone play Pokemon Uranium, I'm unlikely to click the video at all because I can't tell that's what it is. The Steelseries example is slightly better, but I'm still not likely to click on it if I'm considering purchasing one.
    It seems like UA-cam creators are so focused on grabbing the attention of the broadest possible base that they've stopped communicating what the content is actually ABOUT. You might be losing viewers who are actually looking for that type of content.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  2 місяці тому +1

      That’s okay, it’s a proven fact that you’re an outlier, people will always click these titles more because they are much clearer and communicate what the video is about better.
      Because that’s really what this is. It’s not about grabbing attention, it’s about communicating clearly the videos concept in an interesting way.
      Your saying the Pokemon uranium example communicates it less clearly but that’s not true is it? Because nobody knows what Pokemon uranium is, nobody knows it’s about a nuclear fall out, nobody knows you survive poisoning, etc
      The title is far better at communicating what the video actually is. It’s a Pokémon game where you survive nuclear radiation, and it was banned.
      And people who do want pokemon uranium content, know what that video is because they already have context, so they’ll still click it.
      I appreciate the comment, and your perspective but I hope you understand that the logic you’re saying here has been proven over and over to be wrong.
