This is top tier storytelling.
She's not there for the action, but for the length. She explains it herself, claiming that looking at long things reassures her of her own mortality over an unnamed illness, affecting how long she has to live. It's also evident in what brings her back to Tooru-kun as well, as she realised that he's the same length as Long Long Man - just segmented for easier consumption. Side note, the two being the same length makes for some clever foreshadowing to the two's pairing looking back!

this is the most insparational piece of art i have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes upon, i was in a deep depression before i discovered the sanctity and comfortness of the long long man.
That part where Long Long man and the girl is in bed is just Tooru's imagination when he saw the long strip on the bed. If you look at how Long Long man reacted when the girl tried to be fed the long candy in the mouth, Long Long man actually looked away in awkward confusion. (and likely bailed out after that, leaving only the long candy behind). Yes I am that invested in this dumb commercial, don't ask me why, I don't know either T_T
I think there should be more commercials with a story. If there were more commercials with a story I would be more likely to buy the product depending on how good the story was, how good the humor was, or how good the ending was.
It sure does that getting married to the person you love really gives you the happiest moment in your life, Not until you hear, LONG LONG MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN~
Every couple of months I go back and rewatch this commercial serie and every time I appreciate and respect every damn detail placed into this. This is just a marvelous thing in every aspect. You have: - Identifiable characters, so you immediately recognize the commercial - A cheesy song, so it gets stuck in your head - A plot drama, making you think about the commercial long after it was shown to you But not only that, the more you watch it the more details you identify. Things like: - Short man is ALWAYS shown carrying the small bag of gummies - Chi-Chan ALWAYS drops something when seeing the real Long long man. - The "Long long man" song not appearing when Long man is not shown or referenced. (Commercial at 2:30 and 3:00 ) - All the not so obvious "long" references, like: - "I want to look at it longer" - The shirt on Long man at 1:31 saying "Long distance bike" - "Waiting for a long time" And my favorite of them all, you technically COULD see this plot twist from miles away if you analyze that Long long man is the ONLY guy that we see eat the gummies. Short guy carries them, but never eats them. Only Chi-chan does. If the gummies are a low innuendo about penis sizes and the Long man is the only guy we see eat them, you could deduce that he is gay right from the first episode. Awesome job Sakeru Gummies.
Daniel García The Long Long Man song does play for the commercial at 2:30 and 3:00. It’s just a variant stripped down to the main melody played on the piano in a different slow tempo.
There's also the fact that Long Man looks uncomfortable when Chi-Chan comes onto him in that third advert, which you might not catch onto upon a first viewing without knowing the twist.
I just realized why he likes him.
The girl doesn't give a shit about bubble gums. She's just there for the action. The guy, on the other hand, is just as obsessed with them as long man. Like him, he's always chewing them or bringing them around, going as far as to bring them to his marriage.

this is the most insparational piece of art i have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes upon, i was in a deep depression before i discovered the sanctity and comfortness of the long long man.
whoever made the storyline deserves a raise tbh
My favorite part is the women at the end is like "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO" as if she didn't cheat on the guy with Long Guy.
she didnt want to leave long long man
That part where Long Long man and the girl is in bed is just Tooru's imagination when he saw the long strip on the bed.
Hey ang ang!
Well the long long guy was kinda stalking him so .....
Not Long Guy
This is Long Looong Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
In this case the plot didn't thicken.
It...lengthened..

the fact that there are only 4 Long Long Man x Tooru fanfics is AO3 is disappointing
I need more memes and dramaaaaa
Wait WHAT?!
Thank you so much for giving me this information
The internet never disappoints
Maybe I should try to make one... it's been a long long time since I have made any though
Link?
This pops back in my mind every few months and I just have so much fun watching it
I think there should be more commercials with a story. If there were more commercials with a story I would be more likely to buy the product depending on how good the story was, how good the humor was, or how good the ending was.
3:45 that guy needs more screentime.
Justine Zeta looks like filthyfrank in his prime 😂
Sleepy Doge exactly! 😂
😂 TRUE
Well, Filthy Frank IS dead, maybe someone should hire that dude to Rap and fry noodles.
I'd watch it.
7.62 x39mm What do you mean Filthy Frank is dead?
Tooru: "Are you going to take my bride?!"
Long Long Man: "No.... You"
The best No U joke in history…
Imagine getting cucked by a dude with a long candy just to find out he wanted to be with you the whole time
Petition to make Netflix Japan produce a whole series about Long Long Man.
HE gotta have this theme song though. lol

Nice!

You're goddamm right

The first few seasons were actually quite good, let's not lie.
@@alexvicpaul Because they had the source material.

They would've had the night king bring a long long niiiiight~
Literally my favorite soap opera. Every once in a while I come back and rewatch it and still get emotional at the ending, its so beautiful.
I miss when commercials had an overarching story like this.
GOOD, ITS WHAT SHORT SHORT MAN DESERVES!
That's Tooru-san to you!
Don’t call my mans out like that :(
his is way thicker though, that counts for something damnit! lol
Stop Tooru abuse >:(
long long "Maaaaaaan"
Plot hint was right there
This might legitimately be the greatest commercial (or series of commercials) in history.
It sure does that getting married to the person you love really gives you the happiest moment in your life,
Not until you hear,
LONG LONG MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN~
That would be the happiest moment of your life, because the one person who really loves you is here to steal you away
When i though Japan couldn't suprize me
Couldnt surprise you? You live in a cave for these years?

Do not fear the man with an 8" penis who trains it once a day. Instead, fear the man with 1" penis who trains it 8 times a day
The Long Long Man lore goes hard.
This feels like a Japanese soap opera.
“Long, Long Nights Without You” will return after a word from our sponsors.
long man doesn't just steal your girl, he steals you as well.
Mega chad
Every couple of months I go back and rewatch this commercial serie and every time I appreciate and respect every damn detail placed into this. This is just a marvelous thing in every aspect.
You have:
- Identifiable characters, so you immediately recognize the commercial
- A cheesy song, so it gets stuck in your head
- A plot drama, making you think about the commercial long after it was shown to you
But not only that, the more you watch it the more details you identify.
Things like:
- Short man is ALWAYS shown carrying the small bag of gummies
- Chi-Chan ALWAYS drops something when seeing the real Long long man.
- The "Long long man" song not appearing when Long man is not shown or referenced. (Commercial at 2:30 and 3:00 )
- All the not so obvious "long" references, like:
- "I want to look at it longer"
- The shirt on Long man at 1:31 saying "Long distance bike"
- "Waiting for a long time"
And my favorite of them all, you technically COULD see this plot twist from miles away if you analyze that Long long man is the ONLY guy that we see eat the gummies. Short guy carries them, but never eats them. Only Chi-chan does.
If the gummies are a low innuendo about penis sizes and the Long man is the only guy we see eat them, you could deduce that he is gay right from the first episode.
Awesome job Sakeru Gummies.
It's so good it made you do literary analysis on an ad
One little correction, in the second advert Chichan doesn't drop anything.
Damn that is deeper than the adult swimming pool.
I did NOT realize the saga was this long, this is fantastic
I come back to this at least once a year. Just incredible.
Dude I literally screamed and cheered at the ending. American advertising has to learn from this masterpiece.
Screamed and cheered and camed

They managed to cram 2 hours of a highly entertaining American movie/tv series in a 6 minute commercial for gum.
I hope this was drawn out over a couple of years
