There were definitely some over cooked corners 😂 but some of those early lines were beautiful. Were the tires starting to overheat ?
Mix of overheating tires and overdriving. Also the tires where getting older.
😮What tires do you use? What chassis do you have, brakes? Only if it's not secret🙃

Fantastic Lap. I think you were pushing it a little too hard in the beginning, but then "found your rythem" and finished off the lap nicely. What tyres are you using, because I cannot take Flugplatz at that speed!
100% true, for me this was a good example for get under the 'magical 8'. But by overpushing getting sloppy and locking up. After I found my rythm, it still was a 8.00 I believe.

Robin, whats the top speed now that you've changed the gearing?
It seems to me that Robin is pushing the cars limits further in the beginning of the lap and found the breaking points, therefore able to feather the throttle to match the tire grip= faster lap time!!

Lap was on the end of the day, did a good try for a sub 8 lap. But with traffic and little overpushing sometimes it didn't work out. But was a really fun lap. Nothing to win afterall..
Speed with the gearing I still have find out. But probally around 230 gps, mabey little more?

Yeah, pretty good for conditions and traffic in my opinion for the sub 8🎉
You'll find out soon I hope. Car is getting there slowly but a lot of thing going in between what is delaying the final result..

If you Make your ef awd n/a would that make it quicker around the track?
Probably not.. more weight.. unless you put more power to bring back the power to weight ratio as it was before then I think corner speed should improve.
EFs are pretty balanced in weight and power. I wouldn't bother touching that. It makes more sense to invest in better brakes and tires.
No, probably gaining a lot of understeer and too much weight.

Your driving is good but you should really learn the heel and toe technique for downshifting.

@@RobinVaessen I think it upsets the car less and it is quicker to complete the downshift. Also the way you are braking now you are using the clutch to help you slow down, but if you were doing heel&toe you would be using the engine to help you slow down and that would slow you down more so you could brake later. It is hard to do this properly, to press the brake pedal completely and still match the revs well, especially when doing 200+ km/h, but when done right it is the fastest way to downshift. Please don't take this the wrong way, I love your videos and your civic but I think you can be even faster and overtake even quicker supercars!
Here is the explanation I was looking for! I often get asked about this, and the answers are usually just "Yeah, that's nice" or they don't really know further. Heel-toe will certainly allow for smoother transitions at some points, but the skills are not quite there yet. Engine braking is happening to some extent now, but it’s still quite rough compared heel-toe but as the progress grows you adjust to it. We might consider doing a booster delete on the brakes to create more feeling in the pedal, based on the positive experience of Kim (Time Attack EF). Watching back many of these laps, I've seen where I can gain a few seconds per lap just from braking alone. Last year, I experimented a lot with braking setups, so once those are fully dialed in, we will slowly start looking into heel-toe.
