My options to listen to this are Spotify and UA-cam. I can't open an app I can't use on my phone (iTunes) and if I want to listen to your podcast somewhere other than my house where I am on wifi, then that's not an option unless I want to burn through all my data playing it on UA-cam. I wrote it somewhere else too Josh, you'll probably not read it but, In my view you were always lost, from the moment I got into your music. I've heard you say before you possibly have Norwegian ancestry? So why not for example read Old Norse poems? It's a wonderful mythology that's deeply ingrained with the people who wrote it, your forebears. If I had to recommend any one poem, start with Hávamál, if you're looking for some ropes to latch onto in the dark. That way I'm sure you'll find your footing. Either way, divorce is a nightmare. But nightmares are a lot less bad when you have some calmness and assurance as a foundation.
@@startervisions I think it probably will in one form or another. Josh is the only one who was ever explicitly against the idea. They had Nick on the show about a month after Josh and he said he was down. Arthur Seay from Unida (John’s second band after Kyuss) interviewed Alfredo Hernández back in January and he said he was down. John Garcia seems like he’s moved past the conflict with Josh and Scott Reeder doesn’t seem like he would be against it either. I think the biggest obstacle would probably be Brant’s grudge against Josh.

@@APAL880 Only thing that sucks is in the 2 interviews, if you can even call them that in the traditional sense, that he's done in the past almost 2 years, this one and the one with Jim Ward, he hasn't really said shit about a new album, but then again he rarely does and usually just drops shit and let the music do the talking, so hopefully that's the case, but I haven't heard anything about new Queens since it was kinda hinted at right before the last Desert Sessions came out, even if it's another 10 years I'll be jamming that shit the day it comes out even if I'm in my 70s.
I wanna hear some great new Queens songs, people care and want new albums that have some real bangers on it. Raw stipped down and badass always wins and inspires who plays it and who listens. Case in Point : Ace of Spades by Motorhead. First 3 queens records.

legendary podcast guests! hope there is some Kyuss talk to be found here :D
Josh said on Kyuss World Radio that he’s down for a reunion, and he’s the only one who was ever against it.
@@stoneylonesome4062 didn't know that, cheers.
They prlly wont get back 2gether but lets hope
@@startervisions I think it probably will in one form or another. Josh is the only one who was ever explicitly against the idea. They had Nick on the show about a month after Josh and he said he was down. Arthur Seay from Unida (John’s second band after Kyuss) interviewed Alfredo Hernández back in January and he said he was down. John Garcia seems like he’s moved past the conflict with Josh and Scott Reeder doesn’t seem like he would be against it either. I think the biggest obstacle would probably be Brant’s grudge against Josh.
@@stoneylonesome4062 i'd be so happy...just dont wanna get my hopes up ;)
This is truly amazing!!!
Wow it ends so suddenly. He took a piss and that was it? Anyways that was lovely!
Great work as usual Dean!
3's & 6's = your 7th will be like a first album, starting the pattern of 3's & 6's again
(Sounds good to me because I can't help but want more QOTSA for the rest of my days)
1:30:34 Fuckin thank you so much for getting to this type of conversation. I know Josh doesn’t really like to go there. Priceless.
burr and homme are the wisemen of gingers
S/o ron howard too

@@crucifire9224 but he died in that tragic masturbation accident 😪
Bill joined Josh a couple years ago on his "Alligator Hour" Apple radio show (Apple Music/iTunes) - it's worthy of a listen.

"Tears and lamentations they soon dismiss; grief and sorrow but slowly. It is thought becoming for women to bewail, for men to remember, the dead."
-Tacitus on the German people 98 AD.
Great conversation
great podcast!
Throw on some kyuss every now and then. So fucking good
I’m glad Josh peppered in the “Gary” bit. He did it on Rogan and Joe was disappointingly not on Josh’s level. Dean and Josh play off each other well.
Joe didn't pick up on any of Josh's puns or anything. He's a DMT addled, meathead caveman. No idea how he got big. "Jamie, pull that up."
@@asong4thedead lol, it was an extremely disappointing episode. I do like Joe Rogan when he is engaged but that wasn’t it. Dean’s episode with Josh and the John Mayer episode were awesome. I would like to listen to an episode of john Mayer and Josh Homme asking each other questions. Different styles of music obviously but they both have a very analytical way of looking at things that would be interesting to hear.
Joe rogan might be popular but when comes to knowing shit when you're dependent on it josh homme is on another level, feels like to me he plays music bcuz he loves it not for any monetary reasons the way it should be to create some original n unique ideas in artistic venture
I care about a 7th record. I want to hear a 7th record.
8th, 9th and 10th too.
just realized this will be 8th actually haha.
I WANT THE 7TH FUKING RECORD!!!!!
@@dillinguuur79 lolwut. Literally the only notable homme interview from the past couple years was the Kyuss world one, obviously. Duh
Josh must have went for that smoke and never came back.....😆
awesome and i am only 38 minutes in!
That's pretty cool.
Fucking amazing listen! Thank you! I felt deflated when it ended.
What an anticlimactic ending.. :/ Cool interview though. I sure hope they release a new album by next year.. We're about due! ✌️
Lmao qotsa haven’t released a great album since the early 00s
Umm.. You must be high. All their albums are good. It can't always be Songs for the Deaf - Part II ya know. 🙄
Josh just being human and honest as hell
and also a grand beater of his kids
He did not beat his kids you lying jerk he had relationship break up massive difference
Thanks for this
Is there a part 2 ? Josh left for a cigg and it was done . 🤷♀️
YES
Gary Hat...hahaha
@1:00:09 You have to LIVE to have something to say about all that.
Intelligent conversation about whatever thanks for the friction Dean&Josh.🤘
I wanna hear some great new Queens songs, people care and want new albums that have some real bangers on it. Raw stipped down and badass always wins and inspires who plays it and who listens. Case in Point : Ace of Spades by Motorhead. First 3 queens records.
I’m glad to hear Josh is taking better care of himself.
In Dutch we say: "Hardlopers zijn doodlopers".
It doesn't really work in English but to explain,
Hardloper = runner.
Doodlopen = dead end.
So those who run fast usually run into a dead end.
I find Josh beyond fascinating. I wonder which of the Jungian archetypes he identifies with?? Caregiver perhaps.
perfect
...Like Clockwork is up there with Songs for the Deaf.
I actually put Like Clockwork as QOTSA’s Dark Side of the Moon. It’s an incredible record.
Masterpiece
The best record they’ve done. Like clockwork is the album i discovered them with
I dig Clockwork but Songs For the Deaf is just on another level in my opinion. The flow and songwriting/melodies are just addicting.
no
Josh and Trent would make for a very interesting album... :)
Who
You had me at J
I love Josh but he's like the riddler of interviews, ya know!
Ends it on the cig break. XOXOXO
Josh get Lanegan, Oliveri, and Grohl back together and make a record again follow up to Songs for the Deaf and Rated R
Dont even need Grohl, the drummer that replaced him was a beast, sucks he was let go
Jon Theodore is sufficient enough.. He's just as good as Grohl, but maybe just doesn't hit as hard, though that's not a bad thing. Perfection!
Grohl wasn’t on Rated R. That’s a fucking awesome idea though!
@@Turk_2023 He was let go because the touring tired Joey Castillo too much. It's exhausted him to an end point.
@@benedekgabor. lmao no, Castillo had major heat with several band members
perhaps it has do with may 17..... we are cursed and loved in the same note. our dying love will kill us.... argh
