That book is awesome. If you haven't read it yet, do so before a movie is made out of this. you wont regret it !

The book was a masterpiece. In part because he's a wonderful writer, and also because his research was impeccable.

Surprised that they didn't mention the romance of the book, which in my opinion, was best part. Everything else, the time travel, the JFK assassination, all seems to just be a setting for one hell of romance story. Great book!

I read 11/22/63 It is very interesting to follow Jake Epping during his trip to past and preventing assassination of JFK. Especially I like the part when Jake feel in love with Sadie (school teacher) and their relationship.

Anyone remember Twilight Zone new series episode Profiles In Silver? This episode aired back in late 80s about time travelling professor saving JFK from assassination in Dallas.Kind of similar to 11 22 63?

To those who say Oswald didn't do it: please answer those questions:
Why did he left the Building 3 minutes after the shooting since his work day was not over?
Why did he bring a bag at work supposedly containing curtain rods he didn't need and that were never found? Why was he involved 45 minutes later in the murder of a policeman? Why did he try to kill the first police man in the theater? Why didn't he say he was part of a conspiracy during the mindnight press conference while in custody?

It was more of a suspense romance I think. There is certainly the element of romance, and it plays a huge role in the middle of the book, but there is also the suspense of what is going to happen next. I thought it was going to be a HUGE left turn at the end from what i actually read but I liked it.

The novel is just a fiction -based upon actual facts, but a fiction at last. If you were able to understand that, you could see it is simply perfect

Just finished the book and it's the best King has written for some time. I really enjoyed it. As to whether or not Oswald was a lone gunman or not I personally don't think this really matters in a fiction book. I'm sure each person has their own opinion. As to the research King did i say read the 'Afterword'. King may well be a good businessman but he likely has no need to write a book with his eye on the forthcoming dollars by now (note his comment about buying a journalist a Porsche!).

Exactly. I think he should have hyped it as a romance novel...

@bloemetjen This is FICTION and King can do whatever he wants to. He can even train a grizzly bear and let it kill Kennedy for all I care. The book, as a novel, is simply a masterpiece.

Its sad when people can't except the truth. Namely people who who can't except the lone gunman.

its so very sad that people have to complain about Kings level of research on the subject. This book is his best since the stand. are we living in a society where people cant just relax and enjoy a story? its fiction people. it does its job, it makes us think and it makes us talk about it. hell the star wars franchise has made a bazillion dollars and no one is complaining that wookies don't really exist. for real..everybody, calm down and just enjoy it for what it is.

I was sad to hear that king stuck with the lone gunman theory. He said he researched conspiracies so he shouldve come across the truth. But its still a great book!

Don't be fooled. King believes Oswald DIDN't kill JFK. But he's a writer and he's realistic. Conspiracy books have been done to death. Nobody gives a shit anymore about a conspiracy. But if "Stephen King" does a JFK-theme book..throwing in "time travel".....VIOLA! Instant interest and a sure-fire best seller.

in reality, I think the main reason there was a "cover up" at all is because it was in fact a secret service member who had been carrying an automatic weapon capable of firing the caliber and style bullet that did the damage to the president's head that it did. They heard the initial gunshot from LHO that missed and the secret service guy drew his weapon and was looking up. Upon hitting a bump or even losing his balance on the side of the car due to looking up as it was moving, he inadvertently fired his weapon. That "accident" was something not easily explained, so they did everything they could to cover up the fact that an accident killed the president and not the actual gunman in the depository. It would have embarrassed the country on a global scale and diminished credibility as a world power. It could have spelled disaster considering we had just dealt with the missile crisis and were currently pursuing the moon in manned space flight. I have just tried to view what happened with an open mind and looked at all of the footage and evidence. While covering it up may seem like our country is out to get us...it could be in fact that they are more concerned with the fact that other world leaders are out there just waiting for the USA to collapse and fail. I could be wrong about all of this...but this is just my opinion on what happened based on what I have seen on both the conspiracy and non conspiracy sides.

Stephen King has always had a wild imagination it's certainly running rampant in his new novel. Yes what if JFK had lived. His live and his families would have went on as usual. Why write about this? It seems so silly to me. At first he mentions Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone killer. Then goes on to say he wasn't. We all know he wasn't even involved.I recall the day he was shot, watched tv as Ruby killed him, before he got a chance to speak. There was a cover up. I wouldn't buy this book.

@bloemetjen Oh please he should be past that point as he is both very rich and very popular; do you really think he still needs media-licking? I sincerely do not think he needs. He is just doing it for what he believes in or wants to do. You may not agree with him but you have to respect the man's guts; he is doing whatever he wants and he is doing it well, Did you know that King does not sell a book's rights to a publisher but rents them for specific periods?

@bloemetjen nonsense. Just because his opinion does not agree with you does does not mean he is coward. I am not American but there are many people who believe the way King believe. If you know so much just sit down and pen a book that you teach people the things. Otherwise just shut up.
