Still enjoying these. Having died a few times myself, I’m convinced now the best option when facing more than one tank or SPG is to retreat and live to fight another day.
Well you wanted to get some tanks into the mix, and, boy, did you ever! 😱I have to get back into this - been a couple of weeks. I was distracted by Lone Sherman (but only played the first two missions of that so far.) I don't know how you keep up with all the different games you have been presenting lately. 🙃But keep it up. 😎

At 11:17 you state that if you only fire once you don't have to take the ammo from the Ready Rack. I can't find this in the rules or errata, can you point me in the right direction. I enjoy all your videos, please keep posting them!!
I don't think that is in the errata but rather on the original rules! (Or maybe the reference card with the different orders). Remember, we can still fire if ready rack is empty! So basically, if ready rack is empty, you can only fire once as ammo is taken from the storage. So we should still be able to do that whatever ready rack is empty or not. Cheers
There's a very active FB page for this game, they're just starting a huge multi-player campaign that should be fun. Once you work out all the rules mistakes and have all the updated errata in hand, this is a fun and quick game to play, you can play one mission in 5 minutes, maybe 10 minutes for a longer one.
Great again. Thanks a lot. The game comes today to my home in Spain. One questio. About reinforcements the SPG have to be the same model of the first rolled or you need to roll for tipe again?
Oh no!! This game can be so brutal. It's quickly becoming The Hunted: Sherman Edition. 🤣🤣🤣 However, if you read those veteran interviews or see them on UA-cam they pretty much believed that every time they got into their tank it was suicide. Outgunned, out armored and knowing full well they were at a disadvantage. I believe one story had a single Panzer destroying four or five Shermans in one battle! Keep up the fight! The War goes on! /salute Thanks for sharing your session with us!
@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel LOL! Exceed test depth: Let's say we call it 'Move Fast!' Which gives you a bonus to not being hit but you have a chance at throwing a track? 😇
Commander is dead, so I am afraid there wont be any next mission. But I will do a new campaign further on! Maybe using the optional rule, to check that one out. Cheers
Question about this game and also Patton's Best, are you allowed to retreat in those games? Because normal M4 against Panther is already bad odds, but when the Nashorn showed up (not to mention having all those other enemy tanks/SPGs to deal with) it looked pretty much over already unless you would have gotten incredibly lucky
You have to remember that in both Patton's Best and American Tank Ace, we are never alone but rather part of a larger task force. We got howitzers, anti-tank guns, tank destroyers and other tanks with us. In Patton's Best, the only way to end combat is to kill everything. In American Tank Ace, you are allowed to retreat without any penalty. So you could even retreat every combat that triggers and easily win the game by just constantly retreating. I have suggested penalties for retreating, and hopefully they will be added to the official errata.
In PB, you can retreat out of the battle area or pop smoke and hope for the best until your allies phase where they hopefully take out something nasty. The enemy can also move away out of the battle. You are quite right though - but in one battle I did get lucky and take out not one but two Panthers as they passed by my measly M4.
@@scottpoulter4333 Well basically that would have felt gamey. In fact, you can actually retreat every mission and never recieve any penalty for that. Go for easy wins against missions with only infantry or recon vehicles and you'll have the easiest game in the world. Where does one draw a line? Retreat from only tigers? Or tigers and panthers? You get my point. Also, the designer himself commented from his combat experience that a working tank will NEVER retreat, but will remain to support the task force. He mentioned that the retreat function is more for when your crew have substained serious wounds or gotten KIA, not to escape dangerous fights. How would command react to you betraying your friends and retreating because too many enemies showed up? Sure, if I got damaged or wounded I'd try to retreat to survive, but I'll stay and fight with honor, protecting my friends flanks as long as the tank is fully operational! Cheers
Thanks Man!
Cheers!

Yeah but you could potentially retreat every battle, and you would still "win" the game but that would be lame :P I never retreat!

Haha! Me neither. The rules are mixing in my little head. Soon I'll take a well deserved holiday brake and just play off camera!

Best videos, the two tanks maybe roll twice for difficulty tanks not sure though

Oh, it went as I thought it would

Oh yeah, I'm the creator of the group! Playing the campaign now. I agree, a fun and streamlined game!

You need to roll again for any reinforcements!
That PEN > Armor chart is deadly . I wonder if it could have been house ruled to be 2-5 maybe instead of a 2-3 to not get a DE result .
Yeah it's a little too dangerous. I think it should be a different chart for your tank
Took me a few getting killed by Panzerfausts, to make my first move to back up. You did right there. As we all know, it is tough to survive in a M4.
Oh yeah, stay close and you're dead! But that still didn't save me 🙈

I would say it's even more deadly!! I wish I could exceed test depth with my Sherman!! Yikes xD

In the face of overwhelming odds why didn’t you elect to retreat for self preservation? Just curious and not criticizing.

Good point Daniel.
Close the hatches!!!!
I can’t decide. I am just now in July and have enough pp to get the next m4 or wait a mission And get the w version! I can’t decide!!!
Wait! Don't waste your prestige. 😂
umm.... in the heat of battle you pulled two PZ IV counters for the tanks not the the PZ V Panthers....ooops
Wops! Some fog of war. Died anyway so no foul xD
Tough luck but a fun game.
That's how it goes sometimes! I love it. Doing the campaign now, together with 19 other guys!
