Great video! Have the 800 full throttle and wanted a little cushier ride - which is exactly how you described the 1100 … that’s what I needed to hear. I also like how you pointed out the “bassier” sound to the engine… very helpful. Thanks for this video

I've had my 2022 Icon Dark for 7 weeks now and I absolutely love it. It's my first motorcycle ever, and after 2 years of research, watching YT vids, etc etc, it all came down to cost of ownership. Yes, you read that right. For a new rider here in NYC, this is an incredibly affordable bike to own, and over the course of my first 3 years of riding, it'll cost me less to own this than a Honda CB500R. If you're curious about anything I've learned as a newb, please let me know and I'll respond as thoroughly as I can.

Desert Sled, adding some accessories I like and with off road tires... the problem is always the weight, it's not light as I was thinking. I got to try out the 1100, Icon, and Nightshift at DRE and I loved all three of them.
The 1100 was the first time I'd ever ridden a big bike when I used it at DRE. I remember my dad came by and ended up doing a double take when he asked one of the staff where I was, and he pointed over at me doing drills on the 1100. Up until then, the largest bike I'd used as a 150cc Honda XD. Was a bit heavy and intimidating at first, but I'm a heavy guy, so the extra power was a breath of fresh air.
Later in the day when the drill were done, I got to try the other two. The Icon was really comfortable to push around, and we happen to own one that I was preparing to use by attending, but I preferred the looks and the riding posture on the Nightshift a bit more. Doesn't force you to lean forward, but the bars aren't as high as the Icon, looks cool as hell, just as easy to use. Definitely gonna look into putting straight bars on our Icon when dad isn't looking XD.
They even had a Desert Sled, but we weren't able to use it, sadly. Other than it being a display piece, it didn't have any crash guards.

Definitely the Desert Sled for me as I'm 6'2+. Sat on all of them and other than the sled they felt like they were made for jockies . I also do some greenlaning so another advantage of the Sled although I'd be worried about dropping it as no doubt it'll be expensive to replace panels etc and there doesn't seem to be any decent crash protection on the market. Love the look of the 1100 Tribute Pro, alas too short for me though.

I like the yellow one too. That's the proper Italian yellow. Duc stopped using it ages ago. Nice to see it making a comeback.
I also like more substantial bikes. I'll trade weight for comfort and stability. At road speeds, that little bit of extra mass ain't going to make much difference to how fast you can change directions on a twisty road.
The bad part about the 1100 is heat. Apparently, it makes a lot of it near the right leg. Those big flame retardant boots you're wearing likely insulated you from it. Read a lot of complaints from people wearing lesser footwear though.

As always, great review! I like your objective(ness)... I test rode the 1100 sport pro, and yes, your bang on about it's premium(ness). It's an awsome piece of kit, for the road. I seriously considered putting my money on 1. I currently own a Ducati Monster 937, was considering to trade in. Since my test ride, I started looking at other scramblers, namely Triumph's 1200 XC. Great bike, a like it ALOT!... and cheers to you on another great video on that bike too! 👌🏼...I've now moved onto a scrambler that, I think suits my want for "greennlaning/gravel tracking" a lot more... the Desert Sled. The 1100 Sport pro appealed to me, because of the power and presence (on the road). I did love it, and would love to have it, if I didntbalrwadyvhave my Monster... I've now decided to keep my Monster, which I LOVE, so, for me, the road side of riding a great motorcycle is taken care of... that still leaves me wanting for the off road (ability) of a 2nd bike, and since watching you review, it's gotta be the desert sled. Cheaper, lighter and potentially more fun than the 1100, especially out in the bush (I'm Australian) that's what we call it... So again, thanks for another (non biased) review... keep up the good work. Nice 1 mate. 👍🏼

Icon is the lightest at 408 lbs wet. Desert sled 460 lbs. Urban motard 432 lbs. I really like the 1100 tribute pro, but 465 lbs wet.
Torque is the same for the 800 & 1100, while hp is up 13 with the 1100.
As much as i like the tribute pro. The icon should be better due to almost 60 lbs less weight. For getting around in the city or off road. Does not matter what kind of tires a specific modal comes with. Can be changed to anything that is available for the rim size.

Desert sled! Because it can go off road and the looks! I'm 1.87 m and the sitting position is great!

Just put the 17 on the 18 inch front and change tyres . Easy fix , one ☝️ of my bikes has a Suzuki VStrom 650 front forks and wheels on a Yamaha TDM 900 ( they had a 18 inch front ) plus Honda CBR600R front brakes - as Strons are crap 💩. I also could of put a R6 17inch front on as well . I also had a Ducati 800 urban enduro in 2016/17 .

I’ve never ridden a bike with a single brake disk at the front i see a lot of bigger cc bikes with this now I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable with just a single brake disc on the front

Why did you blur the speed on the 1000cc video? Can you be fined if they see you wrong doing in UA-cam? Just posted some crazy actions in Germany last month hahaha (Sulzberg video)

cornering abs on basic model? comparing it with xsr700. xsr700 is slightly over priced at 8200&? or basic scrambler is value for money in my
    opinion

Has anyone here taken theirs off-road? I test rode an Urban Motard this weekend and absolutely loved it, but I'm considering getting one with knobby tires for some casual dirt offerings. I'm curious how they feel on gentle dirt roads. We're going camping this summer and I would love to grab one before then.
