@@pilot3016 The F-16 has a higher thrust/weight ratio, which means that it's able to accelerate almost as fast as the Starfighter even when not using its afterburner. The take-off run for both lasted 22-23 seconds, and since they left the runway close to the same spot, their acceleration must have been nearly the same.
WOW ! Brings back awesome memories of the 70s !! Salute from Germany !!
On the radio prior to take off, the F16 Pilot said to the F104 Pilot "Please don't make me look slow."
I love it. What a feast for the eyes and ears. 🤙
what a beauty!
Its unique "wolf howl" sound impressed me deeply.
Beautiful video. Thank so much
Thanks. Great video and airplane---Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.
5:05 The Howl sound.
I noted that the F-16 and the F-104 left the runway at nearly the same spot (2:07 and 2:40), but the F-16 did that without using its afterburner.
The F-16 has a larger wing area.

@@fromnorway643 Chuckle..As a sailplane pilot.. I always need to fly down the runway, on the deck, waiting for the Pawnee to get airborne.
Looking forward to seeing it flying at the Danish Airshow 10th June 2018 in Aalborg
Why the F-16? The sound of the Starfighter is the subject?
The guy in the starfighter is an F16 pilot. He doesnt know how to land it, so he needs his wingman to talk him down. Thats why.
daaaaaamn that howl
Well done guys.....
