- Loser: TV news. With Facebook Live and other streaming services providing immediate coverage of ongoing events, broadcasters no longer have a point of differentiation.
Winner: Paris, which has the most Airbnb listings of any city - benefiting travelers who would otherwise pay exorbitant amounts for hotel rooms.
Winner: Coupons. Nine out of 10 millennials use coupons, and coupon apps dominate branded apps in ratings.
Winner: Qzone. Favored by Chinese millennials, Tencent-owned Qzone is the fifth-most popular social app in the world, with twice the user base of Twitter and Snapchat.
Episode 85
back in your day your student loans didn't last a good 55 years and houses weren't worth more than countries
Collin Miguel no currency value has gone down that's all
Collin Miguel damn straight. I can't stand it when someone who got their first house out of high school from a job he didn't need to continue to go to school for, bitches about millennials. Working full time I stilll need a roommate just to pay the bills in a two bedroom apartment. And I'm def not saving much.
Yeah it's just more of the same from people who have empathy and imagination problems who can't possibly see "oh, shit, that could easily have been me!" I mean wtf, were we building the economy and the world the past 15-20 years or were we just trying to grow up and learn to navigate this mess?
bronco2484 how do you know who the comment it directed to? It was a comment about the subject matter. Take a Valium, chill.
bronco2484 see, you're not chill yet dude. I'm not even crying. your blood pressure is too high, you're seeing things. You didn't take that Valium did you?
I just found this channel through one of your ad's and instantly fell in love. Keep up the great content!
Saw your UA-cam ad, was instantly hooked!
This guy deserves so much more than 90 likes and a couple hundred views, his work and effort in his videos are insane
Millennials love this show!! XD the problem is a lot of us don't have the money to invest.... ARGHHHH!
I hope entrepreneurship becomes more mainstream and schools teach better skills that enable our future generations to be cashflow independent. Kids should know how to set up many streams of income for themselves. If that happens youth and college students might finally have a democratic voice of power in government as well!
Jake Mitchell - Well said man!
Fuck you, you weak little bitch.
I regret being respectful and never having my phone out in class.
Best video channel. Thank you for doing this channel. It's great info and entertaining. I predict 1M subscribers soon!
Love your stuff. I hope im not the only 16 year old who watches this channel and economic news in general. Thank you!
Back in my day I used to have to go to a bad restaurant, order a lot of appetizers and bring a shit ton of cocaine. That's how you used to roll in the 80's.
How is that earning you any points, you fucking nitwit of a narcissist? Parroting a line word by word. You're a little punk ass bitch.
Nice clickbait. I forgive you because you were very witty with it hahha
Lol, true, but there is WAY worse click bait on the internet. If you know this channel, you got what you were expecting :)
i hate millennials GONE SEXUAL
I personally find these L2 videos invaluable to my investing strategies. If you don't enjoy it, don't watch. Save your rhetoric for videos that warrant it.
But he did enjoy it? Someone who uses as fancy words as you do should infer that.
Lame Fire I wouldn't quite consider those "fancy words" lol, he's just clearly stating an idea that I happen to agree with. This channel is informative and entertaining, which is a rare combination.
I couldn't stop watching the ad and I forgot what video I was about to watch.
As a millennial, love your channel guys! Keep up the good work, you guys deserve a lot more exposure :D
Scott Galloway
gold! love this guy, his company L2 and channel.
😂you're awesome man...informative and insanely witty...
We love you too!
Thanks L2inc. We millennials appreciate it!
Miss this show deeply. Would love to see researchers take a look at the "winners and losers" going into covid
This is my new fav channel
100% agree. The news is being taken by apps that have 24/7 free coverage, and social media as a whole. Like I've said for a while, Twitter taking on Live sports streaming is the final frontier for streaming. Once TV loses sports it's over. There will be ZERO reason to buy these cable deals that are way over priced and flooded with commercials. Cable, Dish, etc. Is going to always be the 'go to' for most of the older generation who is used to that kind of stuff and isn't comfortable with getting rid of it. However, it is the beginning of the end due to younger folks seeing through the bullshit. It's just way too expensive compared to what's out there via streaming.
Millennial parents didnt raise millennial children, so how can you blame milennials for being how they are?
👌
uh because there's a thing called free will
How can you blame anyone for being how they are?
I believe his point is parenting actually has a huge impact regardless. And it does:.
definitely.
These videos are so well done. Producing videos are my job but it is like watching paint dry. but the money is good so...
The money is good but it takes hella long time to make a good video. And the deadlines can be, well, deadly at times.
Duuuude what were you about to say?!? 🤣 I think I have an idea but I don’t even want to take a stab at it.....
My new favorite channel!! Good job sir! Are you on Quora? I would love to follow you there.
So right about the 80's....good times for sure!
does the austin thing with regards to airbnb apply all times of the year or just during sxsw?
Coupons are an amazing scam. Mark prices up, and distribute a bunch of coupons so that consumers have to work to get a fair deal or pay the higher price. All, while giving them that
happy feeling that serial consumers get when they feel they are somehow getting a great deal which encourages further consumption. Brilliant scam.
comedians aren’t funny anymore, you are and informative too! Thanks!
this is why i stay at home and play videogames all day.
Another awesome vid!
I remember dating in the 80's...exactly as you described
whoa.. . the cocaine thing, thats escalated quickly.
Hahaha I love that burn in himself lol that was a funny add on
You're just the best ☺️
i love this guy...
That's because you're a little bitch-ass millennial, right?
Born 1986 Here. Thank you for all the compliments and recognition of my generation but...... We are still entitled, lack work ethic, soft skills, overly sensitive, lack basic understanding of economics, make poor choices of our degrees, need to be inspired at work to feel happy, need to feel important at work to feel happy, complain too much, and closed minded as a whole with few exceptions in the mix. I would hire a baby boomer or gen x before I would hire one of my own generation given the choice for these reasons. But sadly baby boomers are retiring and the pickings are starting to get thin!
What you are saying equals to "millenials are less exploitable". Agreed!
Joking, I actually think millenials have it rougher and are actually MORE exploitable since they are more debt-trapped.
Who the hell is this guy? This is refreshing as hell. I think I am an instant fan.
You did it. You bamboozled me. I’m...
ok you got me, well done
subbed
I'll tell you why millennials use coupons in the mail more, most stores don't accept digital, or don't have/want to accept valid coupons from my mobile device. You already knew that though, right?
You know you're an idiot, right?
@@ericwoods6286 The original posters comment actually made sense. Yours didn't. Kindly fuck off.
Scott! Talk more about VR man. In detail! Or let me know where can I find it more?
millennial talk
Just had to like this video it was sitting there at 999.
Millenials might have this digital shit down, but a lot of them lack the basic functional skills it takes to make it in business. Simple soft skills and common courtesy are often lacking in the apprentices I interview. They might be able to write code that would make The Zuck scratch his head, but that doesn't mean shit if they can't work in a team or accept constructive criticism
I tend to ramble after staying up all night (currently 5:50am)
I can work in a team. It's just that, life experience has taught me that relying to heavily on other humans can lead to un satisfactory work. Sometimes someone isnt pullying their weight or I am relying to much on someone else. My social skills are not exactly immaculate (by that I mean im an introvert), but I can make it work and get the job done without complaint. I just prefer working by myself because I cant stand the idea of dragging someone down because of something I did. Comprimising on ideas are somewhat difficult but I have no problem letting go, if the project needs to get done. I revel in actual constructive criticism. Yes, sometimes its hard to swallow my pride (especially when its somthing important to me) but, its probably for the best and they're trying to make my work better, so why fight them. I think I take criticism well, I try to. I do not expect anyone to read this fully. I just wanted to write my thoughts down and didnt view this as a waste of time. I find it, relaxing.
That's not just millenials. Schools aren't teaching 21st century skills because they're content to sit around with their thumb up their asses while the world evolves around them.
I think both you all have solid points, No +TheGadgetAddicts it seems that a good amount of millennials don't have common courtesy, but that's also a parenting issue too. To +T_alsomeGames that's a good sum up of my life as of now too. I don't like relying on another human to do something I should/could do. I want to do it, and do it well. I also enjoy the criticism and seeing my work get better little by little. It's a huge reason why I think of myself as a progressive person.
I am a millennial, and it is not schools that "create" or "brainwash" my generation. Just as Bliffity said, "they're content to sit around with their thumb up their asses". You are completely correct, and I will tell all of my peers about how terrible they are. Here's the catch: quit complaining about them, and find a way to make it to your benefit. I can say that, since I am currently doing this. Hell, I made my first international sale when I was 17.
Joe Adams Sorry for the late reply, I'd have to say I don't want those benefits. I don't want to profit off of our children's stupidity. I want to teach the right way, which I do by volunteering at my 5 year olds school or by being involved on the PTA. I am attempting to change the system. It's just easier when more people help. Congrats on the international sale, and I wish you continued success bud!
Yesterday I was very happy to meet you can still valid for this article is it the same manner in laws going well,China has a chance so long people
Good. We hate ourselves, too.
Me too, buddy. Me too.
I'm a Millenial and I friggin' love this guy
He actually broke his delivery in this one...Ha!
millennial here:)
love this
One smart guy.
have you ever bite into a peace of jerky, but find, it still tastes like lawn clippings?
Millenials probably use coupons sent in the mail because they are less intrusive.
I originally found Scott when I clicked the video to see the payoff of such a clickbait title, I was ready to dislike it. *Was not disappointed, and now, three years later, I'm back to this video because I'm obsessively watching every video he's made on every channel.* This dude is a genius, if I can't afford to take his class I'll just devour all of this info through the internet, fuck it.
I'm sorry for selling coupon books to raise funds for an educational trip to Chicago(take that for what you will), thereby circulating the increase of couponing.
outro couldn't have been anything better!
What happened to the greatest generation, the one that deafeted the Nazis and fathered the boomers?
Just missing some old fashion Scott. I love the results of the poll
Dude! Where's my car! Like totally! Oh wait! #I'm a millennial.
born 83, current occupation College lecturer , yes we millennials might be disliked by our predecessors for our demanding attitudes but consider this we are already taking over we are already shaping the world to our image.
who does the cover song at the end?
I'm a millennial and I think digital platforms are a form of equalizer for competitors: which means it will improve over time but as it stands the competent and well organized veterans in field like news, science, and marketing aren't using it as much yet so it's not a relevant source for news, science, or marketing as a result.
music at the end?
Miami in the 80's. You couldn't throw a cocktail napkin without hitting a dealer. Ahhh, the memories.
OUTRO songs?
It's funny, he mentions Austin's hotels being cheaper than Air BnB. Austin's hotels are really generic and lacking. For a city with such a unique culture, the hotels there have really bland, corporate personalities. Getting an Air BnB there is worth the extra cash for a great experience. Aside from Hotel San Jose, Austin's hotels are garbage
LOL! Well done.
Who still watches mainstream news on TV besides 60 year old baby boomers? I use twitter for the latest news.
I don't even pay attention to the news
lmao
I love you prof.
Good save.....at the end. Give your video editor a raise.
love the humor. -lanny
nice outro song
Correction... Still need the restaurant and shit ton of yayo.
I had one millennial tell me that iphones were for old people, "like over 30". I asked "Why". She replied, "They are too easy to use". I said, "So, it's smart to use something harder to operate?" She just shrugged.
lol that makes no sense... I use Android because they offer greater flexibility and I can actually boot custom firmware like Cyanogenmod. She may have been a millennial but there are crazy people in every gen.
outro song?
They use coupons because they have no jobs. The allowances they get from their parents only goes so far.
Did someone dare him to say the stuff at 1:30 ?
Roll - more like fly.
LOL
lol...love it...order a lot of appetizers.... shit ton of cocaine ... glad I found this channel...its what the kids call....100.. :p
hey man if this generation is like this what's the next one going to be like? what will even call them?
I want to sleep now.
Won't the super bowl as a broadcast event stay as a point of differentiation because super bowl parties don't work on a phone? Maybe if the group that buys the rights is UA-cam and people can watch on their smart tv's. Otherwise it looks pretty secure.
Most disturbing video? Have you not heard of Liveleak?
I like this guy Scott Galloway
The song at the end, check out Gnash's version of it. Trust me
Wow, thanks!
meh. find hotel rooms cost less than airb in many places...
3 min video for 10 seconds of actual viable stuff to watch.
Lol
@L2inc: Comparing Facebook and TV audience is not correct as they use different metrics. More info e.g. here: www.marketingweek.com/2016/05/31/mark-ritson-comparing-tv-audiences-to-digital-views-is-utter-nonsense-we-need-a-new-metric/
Scott u are king charisma
My millennial son still lives in his mother's basement.
He's a good kid, but goddamn it pisses me off.
William Wilson
Then encourage him, or force him, to join the rest of his generation. The stereotype is false. I'm a millennial who works the night shift regularly, and my partner works two different day shift jobs on an alternating schedule. We are NOT lazy.
thank god you're not my father
Prof G: I hate millennials
Millennial: Ok, Boomer!
cocaine joke... i love this man.
hahahahhahahahahhaha
I'm a millennial and I think you're fucking awesome!!
I see some of generation x almost bitter towards millennials. I think this is because we as humans associate one or few people as an entire generation, which is absurd. I really think that everyone is an individual and as individuals we need to look at personal skills rather than an overall assessment. However, statistically that would be ridiculous.
lol dude breaks character! he's human! the vid was worth it just for that :D
I put a like on this before I even watched it, and i'm 30, was born 87'. I hate Millennials.
Then I watched the vid and gave them a sub. : )
I often bewilder myself as to why I'm intrigued with videos that attack or defend millenials. Given, his comments in this particular video were more comically driven, I find the whole debate entertaining. Being born during the generation after Millenials has its merits.
But are there enough millennials to save social security?
