I know I've been away a lot during Christmas break, but I decided I wanted some time for myself & family during the holidays. I'm back now tho, I hope everyone is doing amazing!
It's great to take some time for yourself! During the Christmas break I sang a duet with myself as a woman and as a man. This song (Say something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera) suddenly gets a completely different meaning and is now about people struggling and saying goodbye to their old gender. You can find it directly on my UA-cam-Channel. I am not transgender myself, but I made it as a tribute to transgender people. Wish you all the best! ♡

A good therapist specifically trained with gender therapies is a must, a first step, everything will go from there.
Many people do not have access to a gender therapist. For most a normal therapist is the only option. So definitely not a must. Nice to have but not a must.
@@E.Mulchi The reason I stated that is I was in same situation; only psychologist available. You do NOT want to be misdiagnosed. Spend the money to go to someone at least for one or two of those most important sessions.

Not these days. There's a thing called informed consent, doctor tells you the effects both positive and negative, you sign saying you understand and get HRT. I have an appointment with Plume on the 29th, hopefully I'll be getting hormones then

@@robinkonway5243 hey Robin I suggest thinking very hard and waiting a while. Unlike hormone therapy, you can get bottom surgery whenever you want. As time goes by bottom surgery gets better and better anyway. But I strongly suggest waiting a while and researching it because unfortunately many people do regret it long term

Hey Matthilda, great tips. I enjoyed your vid. I'd like to clear up one point though. In some places in the states, not everywhere, but in some places having a therapist is not a mandatory pre-requisite for HRT. I live in Montana and last month I decided to transition and within about 3 weeks I'm starting! I do have a therapist, but like I said, I didn't have to start. I have to wait a year and see two mental health providers to sign off on getting surgery, but not to start HRT! Just FYI

(My coming out to friends was 3 years ago ^^') and I also made the exact same mistake of cutting my hair exactly 2 months before I started the path "officially" now xD But anyway, I feel so much more comfortable with myself now that I'm finally walking this path. ^.^

You are so lucky 😢 I live in India and there is no support from anywhere . takes a lot of money (about 20 to 30 lakh rupees) and time (around 3 to 4 years) and you also have so much stress about. your currier

But I think I'm finally seeing that I should have stayed transitioning. There was so much pain goin on but I wasn't in touch with myself like I mentally am now

Fun fact, you don't necessarily need a gender therapist to get hormones in the US, different states have different laws, but some states (like mine, thank god) have informed consent (basically just sign a form saying you know what you are doing) to begin HRT, though for surgeries you normally need letters from therapists.

@@AnnoyingAllie3 If you are older than 18 as a woman, and 24 as a boy, do as you wish, but therapist would be deffinetly appropriate. If you're younger, this will one day soon be the biggest crime on human kind ever seen in history. This is a medical state, but for therapist indeed, because the state is in your mind, and your mind alone. This is just a phase for most of the people. Just a small amount of people DOES NOT REGRET.

I f you don't know wat I'm talking about, yyou better find out before making permanent life decisions, that would be a minimum of educated human. Watching a person on youtube, without knowing wheter they are loonie or sane, it's not a source of knowledge exactly.

ive been transgender as long as 2 years now and my mom wont accept me for who i am so to all those it doesnt matter what they think about us its what u think about ur self and ur gender that matters not some one who wont be beside u for the long run but the one that really understands u and will be there no matter what. thank you for the everything matilda youve made me who i am today a strong young women.
It sounds like YOU don't even accept yourself as who you actually are. You are whatever you were born as. You can't become the other sex, no matter what. I hope you'll accept yourself as you were born. Good luck.

So you think that people from youtube loves you better than your own mother? and this is ok with LGBTQ community- ruining families? Do you watch those people detransitioning? Watch them, this is your whole life permanently! Please please, give a chance to Jesus, ask Him to guide you. He made you the way you should be, this is just a phase most probably and it will pass. You are lovable the way you are, if you're not a murdered, there will always be at least one person that will love you truly, but you need to know what true love means. Hope you'll get good with you're mom, cuz if she brought you up good, she loves you even though she won't go with your state. Respect that since many children don't have parents of that kind.

Actually in the U.S. you can do informed consent. Basically read 17 pages and sign off.

Ur tips are the best and very helpful. Im transgender MtF myself and i have a therapist and i told a few of my friends and they’ve been super supportive and saw from the start that i am trans they’ve helped me during 2020 and it was hard but im so happy to have them. In a lot of ways you’ve helped me all last year as well Mathilda by watching ur amazing channel, so thank you for everything ur amazing!

In the time leading up to my consultation with my endocrinologist, I watched the hell out of your channel as well as a few others. Samantha Lux, Jackie Rabbit, Victoria Rose, Catalina Pilar, Princess Joules, The Chloe Connection, ContraPoints, and a few other trans UA-camrs got me through COVID and have proven helpful. And now I'm 5 months into HRT. Now that I got my stimulus from the Feds, I plan on getting my name and sex marker changed in court very soon.
You can easily do it
@@morganashleyroll3805 Yeah, but it can be pretty pricey. I live in Delaware and there's at least two fees to get your name changed here. There's an $85 fee to file the name change petition with a judge, then there's a fee ranging anywhere from $70 to $200 to publish the name change in the local paper for up to three weeks. The actual fee depends on which paper you publish it in. The cheapest part is the notary fee, which, by law, is never any more than $5. Since COVID hit, though, they've waived the notarization requirement.

@@morganashleyroll3805 I wish the Blue Hen State would do what California does and waive the in-person hearing and requirement to publish the name change in the paper. That would make things easier and cheaper for us trans people.

@@davidhank1322 Yes, I have 2 boys and 1 daughter, I am 34 and I work full time as a psychologist in trauma/emotional therapy. If you can’t teach him what is right and what is wrong, he will make bad choices in his adult life. You would be surprised how many people come in having habits from 10-20+ years ago from unresolved trauma.

To be honest I actually want to do this but I’m not too sure about it i have loads of issues happening in my life and want to become mtf but I’m not sure if I should go through with it i have been known as Kyle the ringer ever since I started my channel and if i go through with becoming a girl i plan to change my name from kyle to Clara and i don’t know if my fans would accept me as Clara the ringer I actually am so stressed in my life and becoming more stressed wether I should become a girl or not

If this is what you truely want for yourself, to live your life as a woman, i think you should but go at your own pace. no need to be hasty but i get that. just depends on how in touch you are with this decision.

hello mathilda is it true that when you take estrogen your build becomes really more feminine and your masculine features just slowly get away?
It's true that taking Testosterone blockers will reduce your build, taking estrogen will give you feminine features.

I just look at you and feel so depressed. Like you got major changes. I really am uncomfortable and hate any masculine trait I have. As for a lot of the surgeries, I'm pretty much killing myself to get work because I want heavy surgeries. It bothers me so much.
