Dr Lori has my cracking up this morning with that look. “Make sure you grab this before your sister throws it away” 😂😂😂 thank you for the continued valuable information and def for the laughs! Dr Lori is one of a kind 🥰
I remember the small Madame Alexander dolls costing $50 in 1969 when I bought one for my sister as a Christmas gift. They are absolutely lovely dolls. I owned a few as a child. Thanks for all your awesome videos, Dr. Lori.
My values are based on what people really pay based on actual sales. Have you watched my video "Stop Quoting eBay Listings! I’m Sick of It and Here is Why" at ua-cam.com/video/mDBSI2wV0gk/v-deo.html ?
I use a fancy glass chip and dip bowl that I inherited from my great aunt. I inherited a wonderful set of hammered aluminum. All the pieces. Shrimp, ice bucket, veggie, the whole thing. I love them!
Dr. Lori. I live in Orlando and literally live around the corner to this thrift store. I go there at least 2 times a week if not more some times. I have found so many great items at unbelievable prices. Only problem is that it’s getting super popular and you have to make sure you get there early to get the good deals. Love this store.
The chip and dip bowl set is so pretty-let’s bring using pretty chip/dip bowls back! I use a fancy punch bowl for my dogs’ water bowl. It’s big, deep, & pretty. 🐶🐶
I played with my madame alexander dolls. I don't know whatever happened to them. I must have had 20 of them. I bought one with my birthday money every year when we went to the horse shows in lexington, ky every summer.
My husband is renowned for his deviled eggs. (got the recipe from me) We looked for a deviled egg plate for ten years before finding one in an antique mall. Rest assured we take very good care of it.
I look forward to these episodes. It really helps out when I’m out thrifting but Hawai’i is a sad place. We don’t have the great thrift places like you guys!
I am mesmerized by your knowledge and your simplicity when explaining it all!!!!! You come to Minnesota a lot it looks like and I have so many "old things" but I'm sure I could not afford you coming to tell me the worth. Old dolls, China my auntie told was a collectable when she gave it to me as a wedding gift in 1971 or so plus my families "rejects" they hated and I loved from generations before. I have old toys, old prints from Brown and Bigelow, so many things in so many categories. Tell you the truth I am over whelmed and some things I would not be attached to and I sure could use the money, Don't get me wrong , I am dangerously sensitive and I understand I need to get rid of the things that don't matter but during the time I have left here I may as well make some money I can spend to supplement my income. Plus I want to get rid of things so my kids are not burdened with it all too,,,,WIN WIN!
If only I could retain what you are telling me, I would be happy. But, I can’t! It’s always so enjoyable, Dr. Lori o watch you go through a place and know exactly where the value is. Thanks..
Dr. Lori, this one was your fun self! So, so happy to see! You affirmed & confirmed some of my limited knowledge on the glass, so thank you lots for that! Same w/the jewelry! VERY fun vid! So much packed into this short video.
Thank you Dr. Lori for another awesome video and sharing your knowledge with so many items.. I love that deviled egg platter, too... and loved the magic wand, the disney table and info on the chalcedony, the lapis and the dolls. Hope you enjoyed your visit in Orlando and our warmer temps here in Florida 🌴🏖
I fell in love with Madame Alexander dolls when I was in my teens. I had three display cases full. Most were the 8" dolls but I also had some Cissettes. If I understood you correctly, you said they were made from the '40s to the '60s; however, I didn't start collecting them until the '70s and bought them into the '80s at Burdines and Jordan Marsh, and a handful at shows.
This was a funny excerpt. Great to see you playful and witty. (I have a set of the pressed glass bowl you compared to the crystal -- they are everyday for dip, condiment, mixing when baking or cooking, etc.).
Scarves and dolls, great learning tips! Then yes, my sister threw out my brothers original 1950s Lionel train set complete with original boxes and tracks.

Hello doctor I love your education and experience you share with the world.I followed you years ago with a different account I no longer have.anyway I recently came upon a really nice jewelry set at a small local pawn shop. They didn’t even know what they had I would like to please speak with you if possible as you are very VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE thank you again….

Dr Lori, regarding the scarves. We’re any of them silk? I have seven silk scarves from the 80s and 90s, which I wore to accessorize suits. I don’t have the tags because I cut them off, but they are beautiful. They don’t really make scarves from silk anymore. What’s your opinion about silk scarves? None of them are Hermes nor big European designer names, and I bought them at Macy’s or Nordstrom.
Good question about scarves to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching. Check my website for the next date.
do you look at photos of necklaces to try to give an approx value? I have some old, necklaces, i'm guessing from 1935, since they were my gramma's. I've had them for about 20 years, so looking to list them. Wondering if that's what you do. Please advise. thx
I'm just curious Dr Lori or anyone know for sure about the beaded stretch bracelet she had on her wrist,i mean what would the stretch material be made of??
I found an entire set of the boopie at goodwill today. It was cheap. I didn't buy. I don't like boopie. I should have picked it up to sell. I collect vintage, but I hate boopie.
Dr. Laurie I need your help!! I have a very old necklace and for over 2 years I haven’t been able to identify it. Is there any way you can help me. I did look for your email but couldn’t find it in any description

Oh yes…the face and the sisters were great!

OMG. - I don’t officially collect dolls, but I’d buy them all! I’d use them in my Antiques Club vignette centerpieces.

I was buying them occasionally in the early and mid 70’s too.

Hey Dr Lori, the next thrift store you go to see if they have any lamps worth speaking of. I love lamps!
Please search my channel and website for lamps.
You look good with your hair pulled back. 😊
Scarves and dolls, great learning tips! Then yes, my sister threw out my brothers original 1950s Lionel train set complete with original boxes and tracks.
😮😮😮
I personally have MA dolls listed on eBay Now (in their original boxes) & can barely sell them. They have to be cheap to get any interest
