Interesting to look back at and think what was to become of the Australian line-up soon after. Half these guys seem to go on the South African Rebel tour so Australia really had some re-building of our cricket system after Lillee, Chappell and Marsh retired and then have half the squad gone to a Rebel tour. No wonder we were so horrible in the mid 80's and Border had to be captain before his time.
The only area I think Australia suffered from the rebel tour defections was in the bowling department; Hogg, Alderman, Rackemann, and, to a lesser extent, McCurdy. That was Australias bowling attack stripped bare right there. That is further emphasised by Alderman and Rackemann being selected to play for Australia after they served their ban. Also, Phillips, Wood Hilditch and Wellham initially signed up for the tour only for Kerry Packer to buy them back. Bar maybe Wood, the others werent around in the Australian team for long.
There is definitely a noticeable dint of partiality on the part of the Australian umpires in not calling out an obvious run-out and an lbw dismissal. That 'six' by Richard Gabriel towards the end was also declared a 'four'. It seems that the hosts wanted to make Australia victorious by hook or crook.

When did he bowled with his full run up after 1980 ??
Usually in ODIs he shortened his run up and focused more on line and length.

In those days had no referrals, no third umpire, Australia umpires in those days were real cricket thieves!!!
